The Call

The call was connected to another woman named Lan Xin.

"Hello my darling" Zhou Yang called out.

"Ah...you finally called me? i thought you're busy celebrating your birthday with your fiancee until you forgot about me" Lan Xin sarcastically complained.

"I know, I know, just another 15 minutes, and I will appear right beside you." Zhou Yang consoled her lovingly.

20 minutes later, Zhou Yang appeared outside Lan Xin's apartment and rang the doorbell. Lan Xin opened the door, dressed in a dark wine coloured silk nightwear with some makeup on and heavily doused in perfume.

"Happy birthday, love" Lan Xin teased, placing her hands on his shoulders and planting a kiss on his cheeks, lightly staining her lipstick on him.

"Sorry I came late, you look different today...is this my birthday gift?" Zhou yang couldn't resist the temptation and immediately wrapped his hands over Lan Xin's waist close to him, kissing her ferociously as he made his way into her apartment.

"So hungry already? Didn't your fiancee satisfy you before coming over? Or can I say she's incapable of satisfying her own man?" Lan Xin laughed sarcastically.

"Lan Xin...you know it, Yi Han and I haven't done anything more than a kiss. She's just too conservative, even after getting engaged, she still doesn't treat me like a husband.." Zhou Yang replied, knowing that Yi Han refuses to get intimate with him until they are officially husband and wife.

"But you're getting married in a month's time..so by then she'll be able to give it to you and you'll dump me aside..." Lan Xin pouted and pulled away from Zhou Yang's hug.

"Lan Xin, Lan Xin, my darling, what are you thinking? You have a body to die for, you're much more attractive and even spent my birthday night with me, can't you tell how much you meant to me instead of her?" he asked.

"Then tell me why do you love me more?" Lan Xin asked intentionally, deliberately testing Zhou Yang's love.

"Lan Xin, you're different from her. You crave for me, you need me more than her. You make me feel like a man, and that's what I love about you. Even after being married, you should know I still belong to you, the marriage is just purely just to appease our elders. Besides, Yi Han still holds the apartment that her mother left her, that apartment worth at least half a million, she still has some value in her." Zhou Yang explained.

Lan Xin listens as she pours 2 glasses of wine and hands it over to Zhou Yang, they both clink their wine glasses as she sits on his lap, draping her arms around his neck.

"Now, no more talking, I'll show you how much I love you since you're thinking too much recently.." Zhou Yang kisses her neck seductively,slowly slipping her nightgown off her shoudlers like a lustful wolf.

11pm, Xin News Building

The rain is pouring outside, while Yi Han is finally done with her tasks and leaves the office feeling relieved. She reaches out for the umbrella in her purse, to only find her cell phone ringing.

There is an incoming call from Zhou Yang.

Yi Han smiled, thinking that it must be Zhou Yang wanting to send her home, she answered the call as she pulled open her umbrella, and walked towards the traffic light.

"Hello birthday boy, you don't have to come over, I've just left the office and headed towards the bus stop..." Yi Han answered, as she raised her voice a little louder due to the sound of the rain.

However there was no response from the other end.

"Hello?" Yi Han called out again but not hearing anything.

*Ruffling*

A weird ruffling sound traveled through the call, the background noises made Yi Han frown as she pushed the phone closer to her ear, trying to hear with the rain getting louder and cars passing by.

"Hello? Zhou Yang?" Yi Han called out again, but was only greeted by other sounds...

*Sound of kisses and heavy heaving*

"Zhou Yang...prove that you'll only love me in your life and no one else.." Lan Xin asked, trying to catch her breath. Lan Xin deliberately dialed Yi Han's contact on Zhou Yang's phone, wanting Yi Han to eavesdrop on their intimate moment.

"How do you want me to prove to you?" Zhou Yang asked without knowing the call was already connected to Yi Han.

"Even if you're married to Yi Han, I still love you, don't ever leave me..make love to me..." Lan Xin whispers, but loud enough for Yi Han to hear clearly that Zhou Yang only loves her and not Yi Han anymore.

"If you want it, I'll make love to you the whole night until you beg me to stop. I love you Lan Xin.." Zhou Yang teased as he continued to kiss Lan Xin.

Under the pouring rain, Yi Han's eyes widened in disbelief after hearing the entire conversation between her fiance and his mistress. Unable to believe the man she was going to marry in a month's time, had been lying to her, betraying her behind her back. Tears started to well up in her eyes, her hands over her mouth as the umbrella slipped off her hands.

*CAR HONKING*

A white Rolls-Royce heading towards Yi Han's direction honked repeatedly and pulled the emergency brake in the nick of time avoiding a collision.

Yi Han who was unaware of her surroundings suddenly snapped back to reality, hearing the loud honk and realized the car was in her direction. She retracted her steps backwards in a panic and fell to the ground, causing her to pass out from shock.

The driver, Chen-xi alighted from his car and hurriedly dialed for an ambulance even though she wasn't hit and there weren't any bleeding or visible injuries.

10 minutes later, the ambulance arrived and quickly provided medical assistance to Yi Han, who regained consciousness shortly, however her face was as pale as a sheet from the shock. Her mind was blank, staring blankly as her eyes reddened thinking about what she overheard earlier.

Feng Yan, who was the passenger in the backseat of the white Rolls-Royce, caught a glimpse of Yi Han with teary eyes in a daze, when she was receiving medical attention at the back of the ambulance.

"Is the lady ok?" Feng Yan asked Chen-xi, his personal assistant, as he briefly saw Yi Han's condition while she was being attended by a paramedic.

"She seems to have passed out earlier, but did not sustain any injuries. I have given her my business card if she requires any assistance." Chen-xi answered.

"Mm. Let's go then." Feng Yan, who is unfazed by what happened, nodded in approval before leaving.

At the same time, Yi Han was still in a daze, not even taking a look at the business card and left the card in the ambulance while being transported to the nearby hospital for a quick check up to ensure there are no internal injuries.

"Miss, do you have any emergency contact we can contact? Your blood pressure is low and we'd like someone to escort you home safely after the check up. " One of the nurses explained while transporting to the nearest hospital.

Who should Yi Han call? That cheating Zhou Yang?
