Love in the Last City: A Succubus's Love Story

In the last city of Voxsturm, a city surrounded by terrible magical storms, humans find common cause with all the other demi-human species to survive. One dreary evening, a lost succubus is rescued from starvation by a simple human who was wandering nearby. While their time together was short, Lorelei has ever dreamed of meeting him again. Her love having grown into an obsession, and now that she attends the same university, she stalks him daily, constantly trying to summon the courage to stand at his side once again. Can this shy and timid succubus finally overcome her fear and be with the one she loves? * This is a re-telling of "Tornado Alley Summoner" which is also available, but no longer canon. This is a slow building romance with a shy and timid succubus. The world is a bit of dark fantasy, but don't let that discourage you. In this world there are also lots of different monster humanoid species, all of which are just trying to survive without killing one another in petty feuds. Some of the species in this book include - cubi, wolfkin, foxkin, vampires, elves, lamia, and more. * Cover art by Hifarry * While there will be some adult content, I don't intent for this book to become erotica. * Also, while the first chapter of the book will feature Lori and Theo when they first meet, when they were young kids, the rest of the story features them when their much older (over 18 years of age). *Thank you for reading, and I look forward to your feedback.

Chapter 3: Lorelei

Once inside, Lorelei experienced the subtle touch of humid air brushing against her skin. The shattered canopy casted its imposing shadow over the university grounds. In the depths of the interior, a compact urban settlement was immaculately designed, boasting a meticulous arrangement of intertwined roads and multiple architectural levels.

The constant statically charged atmosphere from the great shield was gone, replaced with an eerie tranquility and a metallic aftertaste. There was a constant warmth, a rolling fog carpeted the soil. Sodium lamps burned vibrantly along the streets, and magical firelight glowed in front of all the building.

Lorelei took a moment to observe her immediate surroundings. As she stood, she basked in the miraculous burning yellow light, which caused more than one of the students thoughts to wonder. She could spot several parks nearby, each were small, and they dotted the spaces in between the buildings. The nearest one was just large enough to feature a tiny pond and water fountain. A student was sitting on a park bench alongside the fountain, a lamia with light blue skin and dark red scales. She was tossing stones into the water with an angry scowl on her face.

Students crowded every street and avenue, rushing to class, or going about their business. Each of them wore an expensive, and rather revealing, school uniform. Even the professors were wearing the fine garments, and no one seemed exempt from them.

Lorelei felt a cold sweat rolling down the back of her neck. The yearnings of thousands of students polluted the air. She could taste their desires, it was enough to make her loins moist.

She followed the crowds of newcomers further into the city within a city. They must've walked a mile before reaching the central square. The crowd around her was lively, excited, and more than one of the men wanted to be closer to her. There were even a couple women who's thoughts drifted into bizarre fantasies when they drew near.

In the center of campus, they found a manor of sorts, its brickwork aged, making it seem even more dignified. A clock-tower reached toward the domed sky, spewing iridescent blue fire from its seams.

Once inside, all the students were organized into several lines where faculty professors could quickly sort them out. They were each giving student id's and registration, along with boxes of school uniforms. By this point Lorelei was barely cogent, her mind loosely tethered to the real world, as all the lusts and cravings of thousands of students surged around her. Everyone was so packed together, she was rubbing shoulders with other students alongside her. She started leeching off of them without even realizing it, and before long, several students started complaining about it being too hot in the room. A few were even starting to sweat through their clothes, some starting to consider removing them altogether.

A hand gently touched her shoulder, nudging her out of the packed crowd, and guided her to a side room. Lorelei was so drunk on euphoria, she barely registered what was going on. When she was finally able to focus, she found herself sitting on a nice comfortable leather couch, with a warm cup of tea in her hands, and the smell of its rich aroma filling her nostrils.

"What?" Lorelei found her voice was husky and dry. She tried to swallow, and struggled. She lifted the cup to her lips and took a long sip, then cleared her throat. It tasted good, and she could taste the Allucia laced with the tea, just enough to settle her cravings.

"It's good to finally meet you, Lorelei." The woman's voice was sweet and clear, elegant and pristine, as if coming from someone of high birth. "I do apologize, we should've made sure to escort you privately for orientation, and help you get your bearings. We have so few Cubi on campus, and I hate to admit that you kinda fell through the cracks."

Lorelei's vision finally focused. The woman talking to her took her completely by surprise. She was a succubus, just like herself! Her body was immaculate, with voluptuous curves, soft edgings to form wide child bearing hips, and a lean toned stomach. Her skin was a dark auburn, like burning wood, her eyes beheld sparkling green iris's, and her hair was a dashing red sprinkled with grey. Her school uniform was tailored for her feminine physique, and covered less of her cleavage than many of the other school uniforms Lorelei had seen earlier. The woman also had a short silk cape over her right shoulder, and a choker necklace covered in sapphires.

"Where am I?" Lorelei shifted in her seat, finding the cushioning rather soft. It looked like she was in a comfortable living room, complete with a handsome coffee table, accommodating seating, and a chandelier overhead. The paintings adorning the walls portrayed a vast array of scenery, depicting places that Lorelei had never seen or even imagined before. She wasn't even sure how to describe them.

"You're in the specialist lounge, just a small conference room for such occasions." The woman's voice added to the charm of the room.

"Am I in trouble?" Lorelei asked in fright.

"Of course not! We just wanted to help you acclimate. I for one understand how difficult it can be, living amongst so many so quickly. You grew up in the Daemienne district, am I correct?" She offered her a refill of tea, and Lorelei was shocked to find that she already drank her cup dry.

Lorelei nodded, accepting the refill, and taking another long sip. It was so spicy and warm, it made her feel at ease.

"Thought so," the woman said with a smile. "And I take it this is your first time outside of the district?"

Lorelei stiffened, not sure how best to respond.

The counselor smiled at that. "Your first time can always be a bit painful. A little disorienting, maybe."

Lorelei coughed from the insinuation. "Just what are you—"

"Now that's interesting…" The counselor leaned forward, studying her with fiercely inquisitive eyes. She scanned Lorelei's face quietly, a slight lift in the corner of her lip, while pondering what she saw. "I've met few succubi who wouldn't at least chuckle at that…"

"You're an enigma, aren't you?" She continued, pouting her lips. "But I bet there's a little naughty creature buried in there."

Lorelei felt a shiver running down her spine.

"The way you so effortlessly subdued all those students out there, you could have them eating out of your pretty little fingers if you wanted."

"Shut up." Lorelei's hands were shaking.

"There's no need to be afraid, it's our nature after all! I just haven't seen such a transfixing beauty in such a long time…" The counselor reached out, offering her a hand. "My name is Rhelania, and I oversee all the Cubi on campus."

"Just how many Cubi are accepted here?" Lorelei asked.

"Approximately four hundred and thirteen, making you the four hundred and fourteenth, and by far the skinniest!" With the press of a button the side door opened, ushering in several elves in gentlemanly attire who brought trays of steaming hot food! "Which is something we definitely need to rectify!"

Lorelei dropped her cup of tea, her eyes were locked in place, frozen on all the trays of food. There was pork stew! She could see the large ornate bowl filled to the brim with thick broth, rice noodles, and thick cuts of sausage! Her stomach was growling just by looking at it, let alone smelling it. And that was just the start. Steak and potatoes, fish and lemon rice, turkey legs and gravy, there was so much to choose from.

"You'll need your strength, otherwise your body will work twice as hard to feed off the pleasures of everyone on campus. And judging by how strong your hunger was, to the point of you spacing out, you haven't fed your carnal appetites in a while. Am I correct?" Rhelania asked.

Lorelei wasn't listening, just watching in stunned fascination as the bowls were carefully placed on the table in front of her, followed by smaller plates of vegetables, salads, and bread rolls.

Rhelania sighed. "Poor scrawny thing, eat up, then we can continue with your orientation. We'll have to go over the rules of sating your other needs on campus later."

She didn't need to say it twice. Before Rhelania could even settle back down, Lorelei was filling a plate.

"Easy! No need to rush, we have plenty of time."

Lorelei was already digging in.

Rhelania looked back at the waiter, with a rather shocked expression. She addressed him with a silly smile. "Mind bringing another plate… Make that two more…"
