Ishaan ran a hand over his mate. She was asleep, curled up on her side and he was so full of soft warmth that he thought he might burst. He’d never loved anyone the way he loved Carina and it was a drug to his senses. He wanted to let her rest, she was tired all the time since it was nearly time for them to have their baby. It had been two months since they had escaped from the city-ship and she they had both slept and eaten and simply recovered.
Carina’s pregnancy should be over any day, she was lovely, glowing and beautiful and as grumpy as he’d ever seen her. She shifted and opened her eyes, smiling at Ishaan as she woke up. “Good morning, my mate.”
“Good morning, sweet Carina.” He leaned in to kiss her, “how are you feeling this morning?”
“The size of the house.” Carina furrowed her brows for a moment and took a deep breath. “Otherwise I am well.”
“Should I call the Heart?” Ishaan watched her face furrow and release. “Carina, are you in labor?”
