Not Again...

"Ohh my gosh! Why does he keep staring at his phone and laughing, he didn't even notice I prepared dinner" Alicia pondered, staring at her boyfriend from the dinning table. He had been acting weird lately, with late nights and not picking up her calls. But Alicia refused to see the the red lights. She had been there before, yeah six times already, she had promised to hold on to this relationship as if her life depended on it.

"Sorry babe, that was my sister," Jason said, joining her at the table. (Yeah right, let's say I believe you) Alicia thought

"Looks appetizing, bet it tastes even better" he complimented her food

"Ok, eat up, before it gets cold" Alicia said putting her suspicions behind her and faking a smile.

Just barely three weeks later Alicia caught Jason with the other girl making out in his apartment, after planning to give him a surprise visit.

"What are you doing here babe?" Jason struggled to say trying to pull himself together and off of the girl

" Wanted to surprise you, but I got surprised instead, or did I? I think I had expected such " Alicia said with a calm and unfazed expression on her face.

"I can explain " he tried

" Don't bother," she said to him " Ohh dear be careful, contraceptives are in the cupboard over there and hope you used protection, a lot of STDs and unwanted pregnancies every day don't want to get wrapped up in that " she said looking in the direction of the girl

"Seriously, how is she? sixteen? seventeen?, couldn't even hang her uniform properly, what if someone found out, you'll be going to jail. But don't worry I won't snitch" she said the last sentence as a whisper in his ear. "And you can give this to her when she comes of age" she said wiggling the engagement ring he proposed to her with out of her finger and putting it in his hands. Immediately, she left closing the door behind her.

"I thought it wasn't going to hurt anymore, but still it does" Alicia sobbed gulping down a glass of wine. After leaving that room she couldn't hold her tears any longer but she wasn't gonna let that scumbag see her cry, he wasn't worth it.

"Just let it out, men are scum, love hurts and we're going to drink till we drop today" Mimi, Alicia's best friend said, they clanked their glasses in a toast and drank all of its contents.

The night was young, they were having the time of their lives in the club and everything just felt so right, not long after Mimi got herself a man

"You sure you'll be ok without me?" Mimi

"Of course, have fun" Alicia

"Aren't you scared letting your friend go like that, what if he's dangerous?" A guy sitting next to her at the bar asked her and after a satisfied laugh she said

"Mimi, likes danger"

"Really, that's.. not something you hear from girls nowadays"

"Yeah, hey let me let you in on a secret" she said gesturing him to come closer

"You sure you want me to know your secret?" He asked

"Sure, come closer" She said and he did

"The truth is Mimi's dad owns this place, you see all those guards there, they're watching her, you can't harm her" She whispered into his ear

"Wow, that's cool"

"Yeah, wait how am I sure you're not dangerous? I don't like danger. Hey, I've been with Mimi since kindergarten garden we're literally sisters, her dad thinks of me as his daughter too so don't try anything funny" she said as a warning

"Sure" He laughed, she was totally wasted and she looked cute while threatening him.

"And well , you can't be a kill joy, overthinking everything, then you'll never leave house, not to talk of going to a club "

"That's true "

"Hey, my glass is empty, I told you my boyfriend cheated on me I must drink till I drop today" Alicia nagged the bartender

"Sure ma'am " the bartender replied

"She's already wasted, give her something soft " The guy next to her told the bartender

"It's on me," he continued

"No, sweetheart, I can buy my own drinks, here" she gave the bartender a tip.

"Do you want to dance?" She asked the guy

"Sure. why not?" He replied and followed her to the dance floor....

Alicia was woken up by the sound of her phone ringing. She had a missed call from Mimi, and several messages. After going through them she replied to her

*Well excuse you, you dumped me first*

*Ok, so?*

*So what?, leave me alone, I'll see you soon*

"Good morning, was that your friend?" he asked

"Yeah, I'm going to go see her" Alicia said as she jumped out of the bed and started getting dressed

"Well won't you stay for breakfast?"He asked

"Sorry, but I have to go," she insisted

"Can I at least get your number?"

"Dude, you don't even know my name " Alicia said

"Well I'm..." he wanted to introduce himself but was cut off by her

"Sorry to be rude but I think it'll be best not to know anything about each other, I had fun last night, thanks, but that's it. Have a nice day " She said, before she quickly rushed out of the room.

"Did I just get rejected?" The guy asked himself out loud, then his phone rang

"Dylan, where did you go to last night, we were worried bro " a voice said

"You saw me when I left " Dylan replied

"Yes but you weren't in your room, where did you take her?" the voice

"Someplace else "Dylan

"So, when is your next meeting?" the voice

"There won't be a next meeting," Dylan

"Why?, you weren't good enough " the voice from the other end joked

"Are you ok, I'm the, best?" Dylan defended himself

"But??" the voice insisted

"But, ... I got rejected "

"Damn, that's one hell of a girl though" the voice said while choking on his laugh

"Get off my phone ".
