Chapter 22 - The Apocalypse - Part 1

The rain poured relentlessly outside, each droplet drumming a soothing melody against the window panes.

"Rohan, why don't you stay the night? It's pouring outside, and you can leave early in the morning when the rain subsides."

With a grateful nod, Rohan accepted Tina's invitation, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "Thank you, Tina. I really appreciate it," he replied, a hint of gratitude in his voice. The first light of dawn filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room as Rohan stirred from his slumber. Despite the early hour, he felt refreshed, the remnants of sleep melting away as he rose from the comfortable guest bed.

Tina was already up, bustling about the kitchen with the grace of someone accustomed to early mornings. She turned to greet Rohan with a smile as he entered, the corners of her eyes crinkling in the soft light of dawn. Turning to Tina with a gleam of excitement in his eyes, he ventured, "Tina, how about accompanying me to the city today?"

She placed a gentle hand on his arm, her eyes reflecting a mixture of determination and concern.

"Rohan, I would love to accompany you, but I can't leave town," Tina explained, her voice carrying a solemn tone. Rohan furrowed his brow in confusion. "Why not?

"This town is the center of the spell casted by Avyaan to keep demons at bay." replied Tina.

Rohan bid farewell to Tina, As he stepped outside, the morning sun painted the sky with hues of gold and amber, casting a warm glow over the familiar streets. Mounting his bike, Rohan set off on the journey back to his house, the wind whipping through his hair as he navigated the winding roads, With each mile that passed beneath his wheels, his mind buzzed with thoughts.

Rohan pulled up to his house, a sense of relief washed over him. After freshening up and preparing for the day ahead, Rohan left his house towards office.

Its been a month since he last Tina.

Rohan reaches the office and directly rushes towards CEO's chamber. As he reached the door, Rohan paused for a moment to gather his thoughts, taking a deep breath to steady his nerves. Rohan stepped into the office, a sense of surprise washed over him when he spotted CEO Avyaan already present. he caught sight of Avyaan standing near the window, engrossed in a conversation on his phone. Avyaan's silhouette was framed by the soft morning light filtering through the glass, casting a faint halo around him.

Caught off guard by Avyaan's sudden movement, Rohan found himself locking eyes with the CEO. In that moment, a sense of intensity passed between them, an unspoken exchange of understanding and awareness. Tears welled in Rohan's eyes and an ache gripped his chest, he felt overwhelmed by a flood of emotions.

Avyaan approached Rohan, his expression softened with concern as he noticed the tears glistening in Rohan's eyes. Sensing the CEO's coming towards him, Rohan took a moment to compose himself before meeting Avyaan's gaze.

Avyaan's voice was gentle as he spoke, his concern evident in his tone. "Rohan, is everything alright? What's the matter?" he asked, his eyes searching Rohan's face for clues.

Rohan, mustering his resolve, wiped away his tears and offered Avyaan a grateful nod. With a determined stride, Rohan moved swiftly towards his desk, located in the corner of the room. Though his emotions still churned within him, he focused on the tasks that awaited him, using them as a means to channel his energy and distract himself.

"Rohan, could you please update me on your schedule for today?" Avyaan asked, his tone businesslike yet considerate.

Rohan realized that he hadn't maintained today's schedule for the CEO, a wave of apprehension washed over him. He knew the importance of keeping Avyaan informed and up-to-date on his activities, quickly scanning through his calendar and notes, Rohan tried to recall the details of his interactions and appointments throughout the day. But as he sifted through the flurry of tasks and meetings, he realized that he had overlooked the critical task of updating Avyaan on his schedule.

Moments later, Avyaan's voice cut through the quiet of the office, his tone sharp and stern.

"Rohan, why haven't you maintained today's schedule?" Avyaan's voice boomed, the weight of his disappointment evident in his words. Rohan's heart sank as he struggled to find a response. "I... I'm sorry. It was an oversight on my part. I should have kept you informed, It won't happen again." he stammered, his voice tinged with regret. Avyaan's reprimand echoed through the room, a heavy silence settled in its wake. With a terse nod, Avyaan turned on his heel and stormed out of the room, his departure marked by an air of furious determination. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Rohan wasted no time in springing into action. With a determined resolve, he quickly gathered his thoughts and meticulously prepared the schedule, ensuring that every detail was accounted for and presented with clarity and precision. Once the schedule was complete, Rohan wasted no time in sharing it with Avyaan.

With the completion of the task, Rohan glanced at the clock and realized it was almost lunchtime. Knowing that time was of the essence, he swiftly gathered his belongings and hurried outside in search of Avyaan, intent on delivering the updated schedule directly to him.

Navigating through the bustling corridors of the office, Rohan's determination fueled his steps as he made his way towards Avyaan's usual meeting spot. He scanned the area, searching for any sign of the CEO amidst the throng of people.

Spotting Avyaan in the distance, Rohan quickened his pace, weaving through the crowd until he reached his destination. With a sense of urgency, he approached Avyaan, who was engaged in conversation with another colleague. As Rohan neared the vicinity, he spotted Avyaan engaged in conversation with CMO- Mr. Brad.

Rohan overheard Avyaan's words, a wave of shock and disbelief washed over him, leaving him momentarily stunned. The weight of Avyaan's harsh assessment hung heavy in the air, casting a shadow over Rohan's confidence and leaving him reeling with a mix of emotions. Struggling to process Avyaan's words, Rohan felt a knot form in the pit of his stomach as self-doubt crept in. Had he truly fallen short in his role as Avyaan's secretary? Were his efforts not enough to meet the CEO's expectations?

Rohan processed the weight of Avyaan's words, a heavy silence hung in the air around him. Each step felt like a burden as he slowly made his way back to his desk, his thoughts consumed by the unexpected revelation. With each passing moment, Rohan's mind churned with a mixture of emotions – disappointment, frustration, and a lingering sense of self-doubt. He couldn't shake the feeling that he had let Avyaan down, that his efforts had fallen short of the mark.

With a heavy heart, Rohan placed the updated schedule on Avyaan's desk, ensuring that it was prominently displayed for the CEO to review.Taking a moment to gather his belongings, Rohan methodically packed his things, his movements slow and deliberate. Each item he placed into his bag felt like a weight upon his shoulders, a reminder of the uncertainty that lay ahead.

As tears welled up in Rohan's eyes once more, a sense of overwhelming emotion threatened to engulf him. As he zipped up his bag, Rohan spared a final glance at his desk, his mind swirling with conflicting emotions. Leaving his desk behind, Rohan made his way towards the door, his footsteps echoing in the empty office.

With a heavy heart and a mind weighed down by uncertainty, Rohan opened the door to Avyaan's office and stepped out into the hallway. Rohan made his way towards the exit gate, lost in his thoughts. Avyaan sees Rohan walking towards the exit gate with his bag in his hand.

Rohan departed from the office, Avyaan watched him go with a thoughtful expression. Avyaan turned his attention back to his own tasks, confident that Rohan would return after sometime. Avyaan returned to his office, his gaze fell upon his desk, where he noticed the updated schedule neatly placed in the center. With a sense of appreciation, he approached the desk and picked up the document, recognizing Rohan's diligent efforts to keep him informed. As he reviewed the schedule, Avyaan noted the thoroughness of Rohan's work and the attention to detail evident in every aspect of the document.

With the schedule reviewed and Rohan's efforts acknowledged, Avyaan shifted his focus back to the tasks at hand. Settling into his chair, he turned towards his work, ready to immerse himself in the projects and responsibilities that awaited his attention. As evening descended and the office gradually emptied out, Avyaan couldn't help but notice Rohan's absence. Despite the passing hours, there was no sign of his return. Avyaan glanced at the clock, realizing that Rohan had been gone for longer than expected.

With the evening drawing to a close and Rohan still absent, Avyaan made the decision to leave the office, trusting that Rohan would return the next morning as usual. The next morning dawned, Avyaan arrived at the office with a sense of purpose, ready to tackle the day's challenges head-on.

As the morning progressed and the office buzzed with activity, Avyaan found himself immersed in meetings and tasks, his mind focused on driving progress and achieving results. Three days passed without any sign of Rohan's return, Avyaan's concern deepened into a growing sense of apprehension. Avyaan finally came to the realization that Rohan was not coming back. The silence from Rohan's end weighed heavily on him, leaving him with a sense of unease and uncertainty.

Evening approached and Avyaan's concern for Rohan continued to grow, he made a decision that he hoped would shed light on the situation. With a sense of determination, he resolved to visit Rohan's house, hoping to gather more information about his sudden absence.

Arriving at Rohan's house, Avyaan hesitated for a moment before knocking on the door. The sound echoed in the quiet neighborhood, and he waited anxiously for a response. Avyaan stood on Rohan's doorstep, knocking again, he felt a sinking feeling in his chest as there was no response from inside. The silence that greeted him only deepened his concern for Rohan's well-being. Deciding to give it one more try, Avyaan knocked again, this time with a little more urgency.

An old man emerged from the neighboring house, Avyaan turned towards him, his heart sinking at the confirmation of Rohan's prolonged absence as he gets to know that Rohan has not returned to house from past three days.

With a heavy heart, Avyaan thanked the old man for his help and turned to leave, his mind racing with thoughts of how to proceed.

On the other hand, For Rohan, the past few days had been a whirlwind of emotions and revelations. Seeking solace and clarity amidst the chaos of his professional life, he had sought refuge in the company of Tina. As they wandered the streets of the quaint town, Rohan found himself immersed in conversation with Tina, sharing his hopes, fears, and aspirations with her. In her presence, he felt a sense of peace and acceptance, free from the pressures and expectations of his professional life.

"Tina, there's something on my mind that I've been wanting to ask you," Rohan began, "Do you mind if I share it with you?"

"Of course, Rohan. You can ask me anything," she replied, her voice soft and reassuring.

"Why me?" Rohan's voice tinged.

Tina listened quietly, "I used to have a normal life," he continued "Before you and others appeared in my life, things were simpler. I had a routine, a sense of stability. But ever since then, everything feels... different."

"Why me, Tina? Why was I able to wield the Sword of Light when even Avyaan couldn't and also the catastrophe in the celestial realm it was caused by me. Why me?"

"Tina, I'm struggling to wrap my head around all of this. How can someone like me, just an ordinary person, wield a divine sword and cause a catastrophe in the celestial realm?"

Tina: "Rohan, it's time I tell you the truth."

Rohan: "The truth? What do you mean, Tina?"

Tina: "There's something about you that you need to know. Something that explains why you were able to wield the Sword of Light and why you've been drawn into these extraordinary events."

"Rohan, you're not just an ordinary person. You have a lineage that traces back to ancient times, to a line of heroes who were chosen to protect the realm from darkness."

Rohan: " What?"

Tina: "Rohan, there's something important I need to tell you. Your father was a god, and your mother was mortal."

Rohan: "What? My father was a god? That's... that's impossible."

Tina: "I know it's a lot to take in, but it's the truth. Your father was a powerful deity, and he fell in love with your mortal mother. Their union brought you into this world, a child with the blood of both gods and mortals running through your veins."

As the revelation of Rohan's divine heritage sank in, a profound realization dawned upon him: he was not merely an ordinary man but a demigod, born from the union of a god and a mortal. The knowledge that flowed through his veins was a potent blend of divine essence and mortal resilience, imbuing him with extraordinary powers beyond the grasp of ordinary humans and god. Tina delved deeper into the complexities of Rohan's heritage, she revealed a chilling truth: even the Demon King coveted Rohan's divine power, viewing it as a means to dominate and rule over the three realms.

Tina explained the gravity of the situation. "Rohan, you must understand that your power is a beacon for those who seek to exploit it for their own nefarious purposes. The Demon King, in particular, sees you as a threat to his reign and will stop at nothing to claim your power for himself."

Rohan sank back into his seat, his mind swirling with a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. The revelation that he was not only a demigod but also a target of the Demon King's covetous desires left him reeling, struggling to come to terms with the enormity of his newfound identity.

Rohan sat, enveloped in the weight of his thoughts, and Tina stood steadfast beside him, the tranquility of their surroundings was shattered by a sudden tremor that rippled through the house. The ground beneath them quivered, sending shockwaves of unease through their bodies as if an earthquake had struck.

Tina's expression mirrored his concern, her stance steady despite the trembling of the earth beneath their feet.

"What's happening?" Rohan exclaimed.

With a swift motion, she raised her hands, weaving intricate patterns in the air as she channeled her magic with all her power.

Gathering the energy around her, Tina focused her intent, her eyes glowing with an ethereal light as she called upon the forces of nature to aid her. With a forceful gesture, she slammed her palms down onto the ground, sending ripples of energy cascading through the earth.

A surge of power surged forth from Tina's touch, spreading outwards like a shockwave and colliding with the chaotic energies causing the tremors. With a resounding crack, the earth beneath them stilled, the tremors grinding to a halt as if caught in a vice.

"Tina, what was that? Why did the earth tremble like that?"

"The demons have long sought to break free from the spell that binds them, and they would stop at nothing to achieve their goal."she replied, her voice tinged with apprehension.

"So, you think they're using their powers to break out from the spell?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Tina nodded gravely, her gaze fixed on Rohan with unwavering resolve. "It's the most likely explanation," she replied, her voice steady despite the urgency of their situation. "The disturbances we've been experiencing could be the demons' attempts to weaken the spell and create openings for their escape."

"Tina, what did you see?" Rohan inquired anxiously, his gaze fixed on his companion as she closed her eyes in concentration.

Tina delved into the depths of her magical senses, reaching out to the energies that permeated the realms. For several tense moments, she remained silent, her brow furrowed in concentration as she sought answers amidst the swirling currents of magic. And then, with a sudden clarity, Tina's eyes snapped open, her expression one of solemn realization. "Rohan, the spell has been broken," she informed him, her voice tinged with urgency.

Rohan's heart skipped a beat at Tina's words, the weight of their implications sinking in. "Broken? he asked, his voice filled with concern.

"I'm not sure, Rohan. But the disturbances we've been experiencing... they were the demons' doing. They used their powers to weaken the spell and create openings for their escape."

"Tina, what do we do now?" Rohan asked.

"Now, we prepare for battle," she replied. "The demons have broken free from the spell, and they will stop at nothing to wreak havoc upon the realms."

We should inform the heavens about this and call the back up to stop the apocalypse and this world turning to dark.
