Silver Lining

It was a dark day at West Brook High – or at least it was for Keisha.
She remembered it all so clearly.
It was during gym class, right after one of her classmates had 'accidentally' tripped her. She'd ended up with bruises all over her elbows and the teacher had sent her to the locker room to clean up.
Her life back then was so different than it was now. It was a lot more lonely and painful – and quite literally so.
Feeling temporary relief from the judging eyes of her peers, she let her guard down as she peeled off her gym clothes. Stepping in to the tiny bathroom stall with only her underwear, she reached back to unclasp her bra when she heard hushed giggles from the other side.
"Who's there?"
It went dead silent, and feeling spooked, she leaned toward the door to investigate.
That's when it happened.
