The Dress

Darrina, Charley, and Jackob rode until they reached Slatestone. They made it to the palace, Charley and Jackob needed to get some rest, but Darrina went looking for Brandon. She looked around frantically and started to worry. Darrina sat down on one of the stone benches in the garden and breathing in the flowers. She then smelled cinnamon in the air and ran out to the courtyard. Rath landed in the center of the courtyard and then transformed. Darrina ran to him hopping Brandon was with him.

"Rath, I'm so glad to see you. Where is Brandon?"

"Hello Darrina, I'm glad to see you are safe. Brandon went to get your fathers blessing."

"Brandon went to the Ruby Valley without me. That romantic fool! If he does not pass my father tests, he will not be allowed to marry me!"

Gerwyn, Soraya, and Alora ran out to the courtyard to greet Rath. Gerwyn hugged him and then noticed Darrina was trying not to cry. She turned to her and put her hand on her cheek.

"Darrina what's wrong?"
