Chapter 6

Riley has been walking for a long time, the pain in her leg was getting worse that every step she took, she made a sound. she could easily stop to take a rest but she didn't. the pain in her leg was a good distraction from the pain she was feeling in her heart. the pain of being betrayed by the person closest to her. she wouldn't mind if it was her uncle because she was never close to him, but Valentine. she grew up being hated by a lot of people but Valentine had always been her friend and Mrs Oliver was always there. Valentine always told her how cool she was with her powers. who knew this was their plan

" Aaaaa " she suddenly found herself on the ground, her legs couldn't take it anymore " fuck " she cursed in pain

" I won't go on if I were you " she was taken by surprise by that familiar voice

" shit " she cursed again, looking around to find him but there was no one in sight

" Language" he corrected

" where the hell are you " trying to look for him

" up here," his calm voice said from above. with confusion written all over her face she lifts her head and spots him sitting comfortably on a very huge tree-like he's been waiting for her. how is it possible that she didn't hear his movement? she has always had good hearing. how come she didn't hear the tree move. and has he been following her through the trees

" How are you up there and have you been following me," she asked

" I think the bullet is still inside," he said ignoring her question

" I noticed" she replied rolling her eyes at his words. she wanted to continue her journey " ok " she hesitates before pulling herself up. she took another step but her leg had already given up resulting in a painful fall " shit "

" Language " his sudden appearance behind her

" oh my god" she panicked with her hands on her chest " don't do that " saying in a low tone

" apologizes " he apologized, walking to stand in front of her. " let me see" he bent down to examine the leg and there was confusion in his eyes as he look up at her

" what?" she asked

" you are not healing?" his question also got her confused

" healing?. what am, I a vampire?" she mocked. Aiden didn't say anything. her eyes fell wide open when he pulled a knife out of his boot " what are you...." before she could finish her sentence, he pulled up his sleeve and cut his arm with the knife " holy shit " she panicked " why did you do that " he ignored her scold. almost immediately the injury began to heal. Riley moved back a little out of shock and fear. she swallowed hard, staring at his arm like he did magic " h..how...how did that happen" she managed to ask

" it's part of our ability " he shrugged like it was nothing

" our?" Riley was completely lost. she was drowning in confusion " you said our ability" their gaze met and Riley got lost in his amazing eyes

" yes. I am a part of you Riley " he said making the situation worst. her forehead squeezed revealing how lost she was

" you said what?". first, he said our ability, now he's talking about being a part of her.

" Since you can't heal yet. I have to take you to the hospital" before she could say anything she was off the ground in Aiden's arms. 'Damn he is so warm' she thought to herself" I can manage" she said

" No you can't " he began walking " Alex I need you," he said making Riley raise an eyebrow at him, wondering who he was talking to

there was a long comfortable silence between them. Riley's face was trapped in his chest. Aiden felt she did that for warmth but Riley was trying to avoid staring at his face. his amazing looks, under the moonlight. they were suddenly interrupted by the sound of a moving vehicle. Riley panicked thinking Dr Frankly's men were coming. she lifts he head to look at Aiden who seemed very calm about it " it's Alex " he said intending to calm her down

" Alex?" curiosity in her tone. studying her environment with her eyes, she spots something coming from a distance. it was a motorcycle, driving itself. it drove, avoiding the trees and rocks on its own and finally stopped in front of them. Riley was speechless. the motorcycle was stunning " holy heavens " she gasp.

Aiden put her down gently. the moment her feet touch the ground she grips his shoulders for balance " oh "

" careful" he warned with his arms around her waist making sure she doesn't fall " Alex, how far is the nearest hospital" Riley was even more speechless when the motorcycle replied

" 7miles which will take 6 to 16 minutes" it had a female voice

" possible to go faster?" he said sounding a little urgent

" if that's what you want " the motorcycle replied

" I thought this only happen In movies " Riley interrupted not taking their eyes away from the motorcycle for a second. she watch Aiden get on the motorcycle and offered his hand

" here " she took his hand and entered as well " hold me " his words took her by surprise

" what?"

" hold me, it's going to be a rough ride " he explained Riley wrapped her arms around him gently like she was scared of holding him " tight," he said. she tightens her arms around him. it was still not enough but Aiden didn't say anything, he knew she will have to hold him eventually. he starts the motorcycle, the moment they moved, out of shock she grips him tighter resting her head on his back so she won't fall. Aiden found himself smiling, she was a stubborn one. in no time they were driving out of the woods into the main road, Riley's body finally relaxed, relieved that she was finally away from the lab and probably after she gets treated, she will be on her way home

Riley had no idea that her life just made a great turn.
