Chapter 36

Riley made her way down to stairs. the lower she got the clearer the voice became. it was her father and Linda's voice

" Seriously I couldn't have made it this far without you "

" Oh, come on this was all you doing " Linda had a seductive tone

" what the fuck are they doing " she grew more curious. Riley increased her speed down the stairs, quietly so she won't be heard.

Getting to the end Riley peeped to see what was going on and she was taken by ultimate shock by the view before her.

the Room was filled with hundreds of babies in incubators " holy shit " whispering to herself. wondering where the babies came from. she then remembered that the first day she came here, her father said something about clones " are these.....clones " questioned herself in a low tone

At a corner, Riley sported her father and Linda doing another thing that did not just shock her but broke her heart. they were kissing. Riley find it had to believe what she was seeing. her father was kissing another woman when it has only been two years since her mother died. is this why he always came late? he was working on his clones and making love to Linda?

Riley watched speechlessly as they pulled away. looking into their eyes " just be patient my love." Her father said to Linda" with this weapon we have, we will have the world at the tip of our fingers " smiling bright

" I just can't wait. " she had an excited tone. 'what weapon ' Riley wondered " That girl is such a fool. I believe the story you told her about you wanting to protect her and she protecting the world "

" that fool you are talking about is my daughter " Riley's heart sank as realization hit her. they were talking about her. the was the fool, which means her father lied to her.

" I know, I know. whatever. " rolling her eyes " you know love. I don't like what you are doing. we have talked about this. the lie wasn't necessary because she will eventually find out that you made her as a weapon and nothing more. what will you don't then "

" then I will use the hard way as you suggested. ok? "

" ok."

Everything became clear to Riley. this was why Aiden was acting strange, this is what he was hiding. this is why he told her to keep pretending because if she does, it will delay them from achieving their selfish desires. She was a weapon. her father made her as a weapon and Aiden knew this. he knew this and still brought her here. her heart was aching so badly at this point

" I said get going now. It's running late." Wilson announced

" there you go again, running to your daughter" She spoke sadly

" Oh come on....." Wilson was interrupted by someone she never expected

" Dad " Riley who could take it any long came out of her hiding spot. out shock, Linda and Wilson pulled away from each other

" Riley!!" he called with surprise written all over his face

" Is it true. " her voice was weak, very weak. she wanted an answer from him directly. maybe he was only blabbing because he was with Linda, she wanted to know. the look both Wilson and Linda gave her can not be mistaken for something else. it says everything. all the answers were in that look " so.... I am just...just a weapon? it wasn't to protect me.... but....as a weapon?" she found it had to breathe. it was like all the air in the room escaped somewhere. her eyes grew watery resulting in a blur of sight. immediately she ran away

" Riley " Wilson called but Linda stopped him from going after her

" Will you take my advice now " she flashed that evil smile

Running to Aiden's room. Riley tried to hold back the tears that wanted to break through. she needs to see Aiden, she needs answers from him, she needs an explanation.

banging on his door endless. the door finally opened leaving her hand in the air. standing before her was a shocked and confused Aiden, wearing a simple white shirt and a black sweatpant " Riley?" his tone had a mixture of confusion and worries

" Aiden " she whispered his name. she pushed past him and entered his room while Aiden closed the door afterwards.

Standing in front of Aiden now, her heart ached even more. at this point, she didn't even want to ask him anymore, scared of what his answer will be. but she had to. she had to ask him " did...did you know " he squeezed his forehead at her question

" know what, Riley?"

" Everything. what my father was up to, why he gave this power. did you know " all the colours on Aiden's face drained instantly? in his eyes she saw guilt and sadness. it was enough to give her the answers but Riley wanted it to come from him. and hoped he will say know " Answer me Aiden. tell me the truth, tell me you didn't know Aiden "

" Riley " her name rolled out of this month in a whisper

" come on Aiden. tell me you didn't know " the tears she held back for so long finally escaped.

"I'm sorry Riley " hearing does words, her heart dropped. she instantly closed get ears and screamed in pain, and heartbreak.

" Fuuuuuuck " crying bitterly " no, Aiden no "

" Riley I am sorry "

" I trusted you Aiden. you said that you will protect me no matter what. you said you were taking me to somewhere safe and you brought me here. here. where my entire problem started. here, where I will be used as a weapon Aiden " she cried

" I had no choice" he spoke with honesty but Riley didn't want to hear his excuse

" Everyone has a choice Aiden. but you choose this "

" Riley believe me. I did this out of my own will...." she cut him off

" you lied to me. I trusted you even after everyone betrayed me I still trusted you. Linda is right. I am just a fool "

" Riley you are not " Aiden felt hurt and bitter for what he did. he thought he would be able to fix it before she finds out but now it was too late. she found out. and what he fears the most will happen. she will hate him till death

" you made me love you Aiden and you use it Against me...."

" Riley I will never do that "

" did you ever have feelings for me " Her voice was low but had the power to go through Aiden's heart

" Riley" he yelled at the top of his voice taking her by surprise " don't question my love for you Riley " his tone instantly grew softer melting into Riley's heart but Riley was too hurt to believe him " Riley " he took a step forward and she instantly moved back so he won't touch her. she didn't want him to.

Silence took over the room and the only thing heard was her cry

" Riley " he broke the silence but she interrupted

" Just... I want to believe that you had your reasons "

" I did"

" then what is it?" Riley wanted to believe that there were more untold stories to it. she wanted to believe that Aiden was not like everyone one else in her life. but Aiden remained silent " Aiden talk to me please"

" It's nothing but a selfish reason " he spoke shattering her heart. Riley was in unbearable pain

" you are just like everyone one else in her life," she said sadly before walking past him. leaving him alone in pain.

Aiden has gone through a lot of pain in his life. especially the one he gets whenever he is being pushed by Wilson. that pain lasts for days. but the pain in his heart right now was far worst. he hurt the girl he loves. the person who gave meaning to his life. he sat on his bed as tears ran down his eyes. he was selfish. Because he didn't want to get pushed he brought her to the worst place ever. he will live with this guilt forever
