Chapter 17

Riley and Max sat by the lake waiting for Aiden. Riley was so worried. she was worried that something will happen to Aiden even if she knew very well how skilled he was. Max was trying to ease her worries but it was pointless. she needed to see Aiden, to be certain he was ok.

" what is taking him so long," she asked looking around hoping to find any sight of him

" come on Riley give him time "

" We should have stayed back with him. what if he needs help "

" Riley " Max called with a calming tone " Aiden prefers to fight alone. it makes things easier and faster for him. if we stay there, most especially you, it will cause him a distraction "Max explained

" oh " she had a low tone

" he will be fine." Max sounded very confident, he wasn't worried at all. he knew who Aiden was. with his fighting skills and power, he can not be taken down easily. " trust me " he smiled.

They sat quietly for almost an hour but there was no sign of him " ok I think we should go back" Riley stood up

" Riley...." Riley didn't give him a chance to speak

" don't tell me to wait ok. I can't do that anymore. I want to go and if he is alright " she yelled. Riley turned around, and was about to leave but stopped at her track. there he was, that beautiful creature she was waiting for to come back to her safely. the one person that can make her heart go crazy and her mind explode. Aiden was standing there with a smile. he had blood all over but not a single injury. his beautiful eyes stared into her making her heart race

" You missed me too much didn't you?" he said. Riley couldn't stop herself from smiling. she runs toward him and jumped and he immediately caught her so she won't fall. the was a very long hug.

" thank goodness you are alright " she whispered into his ear and he smiled even more

" you know I will be " he whispered back

" ok, I really enjoy what is going on here but what about my house " Max interrupted. Aiden gently let Riley go

" your house is fine, just a few repairs, that's all " Aiden replied calmly

" and your motorcycle?" Riley asked looking around for it

" she's on her way " he took her hand and walked to the lake. Riley watched as he sat down and let go of her hand " I hate blood stains " he frowned watching the blood off

" so what next " Max asked from where he was sitting

" We will leave for London, tonight" Aiden announced

" But you said we had to wait for a few days" Riley reminded

" yes. but we can't stay here, they won't stop looking for you. what I don't understand is how they keep finding us. first at the hospital, now here. " Aiden was in deep thought as he Spoke

" Maybe they are tracking you guys," Max said

" Yeah, maybe " Aiden lifts his head to look at her. they were something in the look he gave that she didn't like

" what?" she asked. Aiden ignored her question and stood up. He took her arm and pulled her closer to him. Riley who was in shock landed with her other hand on his chest " what the hell "

" wait?" he whispered to her ear. Riley suddenly felt his wet hand on her skin at the back of her neck. he massaged it gently. Riley who was enjoying his touch also wondered what he was up to

" what are you doing?" she asked with curiosity in her tone

" Trying to find...." he stopped when he felt something

" find what?" she got even more curious. Aiden didn't reply, he pulled her away, and with his eyes locked in her's he asked

" you were injected with something?"

" I don't know " she shrugged

" I never knew Dr Frankly had it in him " Aiden smiled " Levi must have hacked the device for her to find us "

" what is it " Riley was very curious to know what he found inside her

" it's a tracking device" he replied before going back to washing off the blood on his body

" A tracking device?!!! " she yelled " is fucking inside me?"

" unfortunately" his response was reluctant

" Why are you so reluctant about it, shouldn't we do something "

" I could take it out but unfortunately you can't heal," he said " and I don't dare to hurt you " Aiden spoke honestly. if he tries to take out the device it will cause her unbearable pain because it is not just any device and he won't stand to see her in pain.

" then Max should do it if you can't " Riley's eyes fell on Max who immediately surrendered while looking at Aiden from the corner of his eyes

" hey, I don't want to get into Aiden's bad side "

" forget about the tracking device, right now we should prepare to leave " Aiden changed the topic " Max, book us a flight for tonight "

" do you have money for the flight, " Riley asked innocently just then Max burst into laughter

" hahaha... I can't believe she just asked that "Max's laughter filled the air and Riley stood, confused at what was happening

" what's so funny"

" Aiden hasn't told you who he is haven't he, " Max asked. Riley's gaze fell on Aiden who was focused on cleaning himself up

" No. no, he hasn't" she voice was low as she spoke. at that point Riley realized that Aiden knew everything about her but she knew not a single thing about him. she was crushing so hard on a guy that she knew not a single thing about. all she knew was that he was hired to protect her.

" that guy over there is as rich as fuck " Max said pointing at Aiden

" that is enough Max," Aiden said and stood up

" But I want to know about you "

" story for another day. we should leave because as Levi's men came here, Dr Frankly's men most are on their way " they were suddenly interrupted by that familiar sound of a moving vehicle. Alex. " there she comes " Aiden smiled.

Max was able to book a flight on his phone before they left. Aiden stopped to get fresh clothes while Riley waited in the waiting room watching The new. Riley stood speechless when she saw herself on the news as a wanted criminal and 15 million dollars were rewarded to whoever found her. a gasp escaped her lips " what the fuck "

"We should leave now" she was taken by surprise by Aiden who she had no idea was already out of the dressing room wearing a new black hoodie, black jeans and black sneakers

" God you scared me "

" apologize " he apologized, then took her hand and they made their way out

" going to the airport?" she asked

" yes "

" What time is the flight?"

"7 pm".

those were his last words before they took off in his motorcycle. off to the airport.
