Searching For Cedric

"Nothing really, I'm just here to teach you a little lesson." He said as he walked towards her.

"A little lesson? What did I do?" She too walked backwards as he walked towards her, she thought it wise of her to keep her distance because she didn't know what this two faced deceiver was capable of doing.

"Now don't act all innocent," he sneered, "don't act like you didn't try to tell Elora lies about me."

"Lies?!" Nadine retorted, "is that what this is all about?"

"Yes Nadine!" Derek screamed angrily, "that's what this is all about!"

Nadine jumped in fear at his scream and she didn't know that a bag of trash was behind her so she tripped backwards and fell on her rump but she was still facing Derek.

"By the way who told you that I wanted to sleep with Elora?"

"How I found out doesn't matter, what matters is that your intentions are evil and you need to be stopped."

"By the time I'm done with you today, you'll learn that nothing and no one is allowed to come between me and Elora till I have eaten that forbidden fruit." He bent down so that their faces would be the same level then he beckoned on the other two cloaked men to come closer, she wasn't surprised when she saw that one of the cloaked men was Finn, the other was a face that she had never seen before.

Derek threw a punch and the others joined him, together they beat Nadine to a pulp that morning in the alley and left her half dead with a few broken bones.

With so much pain in her heart and body, and so much tears in her eyes, she sighed and thought, 'I should've never gotten myself involved with Elora and Derek, look where it landed me now, bruised, heartbroken and homeless.'

The four battalion commanders stood quietly before their raging general, no one dared to do anything to annoy him at that moment because he was extremely angry, all of them could feel it from his aura– even Andy didn't dare to sleep in such a tense environment.

They didn't know what had happened but after he had returned from the realm of Oblivion in a fit of rage, he had summoned all four of his battalion commanders to the meeting room and they were now awaiting his orders.

"I'm sure that all of you know my brother Cedric." He growled,

"Yes sir!" They chorused simultaneously,

"I want you all to scour the whole wide world till you find him, once you do, return and report to me as fast as you can."

"Yes sir!" They chorused,

Sensing that they would see this mission as just any normal duty, Lucian added an incentive, "whoever finds him first gets a reward of half a million souls."

Half a million souls?!

Half a million souls was enough to multiply a demon's power by two.

The number resonated in their ears and they all shot out like hawks in pursuit of their prey.

After they left, Lucian stood up and began pacing the room up and down, he had tried to use his demon powers to pick up Cedric's demonic trail on Earth but it seemed that Cedric had hidden his aura, that was why he had to resort to using his battalion commanders to find him.

"I must find Cedric as quickly as possible, I can't have my secret leaking out ever, opportunists won't hesitate to cash on it and bring me down, that's why I must find him. That's why I must shut him up."

LOVE BITES EATERY,

She was innocently eating dinner alone at a table without being aware that a young man was intently staring at her from another table. That young man was Cedric.

After discovering that Lucian's bane was a human woman, he did his research and he found out that since Lucian arrived in the human realm, he had made contact with only one human girl and she was the one he was watching now– Elora.

Cedric saw every reason why Elora was qualified to be Lucian's bane, she was way beautiful beyond human standards and she had a pure spirit aura. If she wasn't important to his plans to kill Lucian, he could've seduced her that night and eaten her. But that would wait for later, for now he needed to find out more about her, and he would do that by having a conversation with her.

Elora looked up to see a young handsome man walking towards her. He was smiling and that made her uncomfortable.

"Hi." He said softly as he arrived at her table.

His voice was smooth and gentle to Elora's ears but there was something about it that felt bogus to her.

"Hi." She replied with a radiant smile– obviously fake.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" He asked, gesturing to the empty chair across the table opposite hers.

"No." She replied warily, 'this must be another one of those numerous guys who always want my number without knowing that I'm already in a relationship.'

"Okay thanks." He smiled broadly as he sat down– he actually looked cute.

There was a brief silence between them till Cedric spoke up. "I'm Cedric, what's your name?"

As Cedric struck up a conversation with Elora, he didn't see the demon who had been watching him from the window. Without batting an eyelid, the demon flew away quickly to report to his master that he had found the target.

LUCIAN'S CONDO.

Lucian watched the bright lights in the night of the city from the roof of his condo.

'One hour forty five minutes and none of them have returned with any report...' Lucian narrowed his eyes in anger as he thought, 'where could that bastard be?'

WHOOSH!

THUD!

Someone landed softly behind Lucian. He didn't need to turn back to know that it was his second battalion commander, Razor.

"I believe you've found him."

"Yes sir."

"Pray, tell me..." Lucian growled, "It's time to shed some blood."

"Love Bites Eatery sir."

At the mention of that place, a nasty feeling quickly crept up Lucian's gut, 'why do I suddenly have this nasty feeling? Could he have found out already? I'll find out when I get there.'

In the night sky of the city, two winged figures could be seen flying away from the roof of Lucian's condo.
