Chapter 3; Weird Feeling

Yana's POV

Yana had only two close friends since she started college, Mitch and Bruce. She shared some aspects of her life with them, but when it came to her family, she kept it a secret from them. However, when it came to her crush at school, they were all open with each other. That's why Yana couldn't help but tell Bruce about what happened on campus earlier.

"Where are you, Bruce?" Yana immediately called Bruce on his cellphone.

Bruce and Yana were fellow townmates, and they traveled together to the city. However, they separated upon arrival because Yana was heading to the campus while Bruce went straight to his dorm.

"I'm already in the dorm. Are you done as well? Let's have dinner together later with Mitch, okay?" Bruce replied promptly.

The three of them had dinner in their dorm with Mitch. They had never been to Butch's dorm because it was mostly occupied by guys, and Mitch and Yana felt a bit uncomfortable. That's why Bruce was the one who often came to their dorm, sometimes even staying overnight instead of going back to his own dorm.

"What happened, girl? Is that it?" Mitch asked with a smile.

"I got really scared, girl. He just suddenly appeared beside me out of nowhere. I wasn't prepared for what to say," Yana explained.

"Oh girl, how can you get noticed if he might think you're being rude? It would have been better if you just smiled," Bruce commented.

In Yana's mind, perhaps it was enough to just daydream about him for now. She knew she was far from the type of girls he usually hung out with. If it were up to her, she wouldn't want to have these kinds of feelings, but she was only human, and it was inevitable to experience such things.

Bruce would be sleeping there as well. It was quite obvious since he brought a big bag with him when he arrived earlier. After they cleaned up the dining area, they each went to their respective sleeping spots and started using their gadgets.

Yana couldn't help but gaze at the screen of her laptop where she had saved pictures and videos of Kiel. She tilted the monitor sideways to prevent her companions from seeing what she was looking at.

Kiel is undeniably handsome, tall, and somewhat tan. He also had thick eyebrows and a well-defined nose that added to his attractiveness. She freely took pictures and videos of him from his public Instagram account.

While she didn't have any social media accounts, if she did, they were set to private, making it difficult to search for her. Her mom always reminded her to be cautious on social media to avoid being found by her dad. There were only a few pictures, but they were not about her. She also used a different name on her account. She did this to prevent her father from finding it.

On their first day of class, as usual, she saw the same familiar faces of her classmates. Butch and Yana were classmates in all of their subjects.

After a while, she heard the giggling of girls in front of her. It turned out, Kiel's group entered, and it seemed like they might even be classmates. No wonder, architecture and civil engineering were closely related, so it was inevitable that they had subjects together with the engineering students.

She let out a squeal inside her. Kiel and she would be classmates again. She felt a bit embarrassed about what happened outside the field, so she pretended as if she didn't see them.

The subject ended peacefully. Honestly, this was the first time she felt this awkward around him. She didn't know why. So, she pretended to be busy doing something on her laptop, but she actually had something to do. Another student from the neighboring classroom asked her for assistance with a task.

Days went by, and Kiel and she still hadn't exchanged glances inside the classroom. She understood, as she wasn't really the intrusive type, except when she had gotten to know someone well. She wanted to steal a glance at him from behind, but she felt shy.

One day, while she was busy helping a freshman student with their research, Marlon suddenly spoke up behind her.

"Hey Yan, , can I borrow your laptop? I just need to send an email if that's okay with you."," Marlon interrupted her.

She hesitated at first, thinking it was unlikely that none of his companions had it. But in the end, she just shrugged it off and agreed. She quickly gave it to Marlon.

After a minute, Marlon said he was done. She nodded and turned it off. She felt a weird feeling, but in the end, she just ignored it. The four of them went out afterwards.
