Taint of black

The following day James came back to the usual and left early.

Getting left alone in the house. I did the things I can do, doing chores. I notice those flowers I bought back and find a vase to put them. "I wonder if he will like it," I said as I walk to the corridor after putting it in the kitchen.

"Hmn, that not quite like you." The woman came back and sitting on the balcony dressed in full black. She had this veil that covers her face and looking like she just came from a burial.

I gasp as she looked at me and smiled. "W-what do you want?" I asked. "So you finally spoke to me, my dear Heather." I took a step back as she approaches. She looks at my feet and said, "Why are you scared? You still love me right?"

Soon as she touched my cheeks I was in a trance, I couldn't move, I couldn't even speak or even see anything. She then started playing with my hair, she places her hand on my lips and then leaned on me. "You are mine." She then bit my shoulder.

"W-what is this?!" A light sting of pain on my neck made me shiver down to my bone. "Help. What is going on?" I felt a bit dizzy and felt my body aches as I lost consciousness.

-----

I opened my eyes and found myself lying on the floor. "Ugh, everything hurts?" I look at the ceiling and notice it was familiar. I looked around and found myself back. "This is my room! That was just a dream!" I started crying and hurriedly got up. I need to see my father, "Pa! I am--" I stopped and I saw his head fall and rolled on my feet. "What is going on?"

I heard a scream and an arm pulled me in. "Help." Are the only words in my head. I looked at the person but then slammed me to the wall with his hand on my neck.

"It hurts. Can't breathe." I struggle to get loose but he was too strong. I felt something was breaking and the one thing that I could see is James strangling me to death.

-----

I then gasp for air as I felt I was drowning. (cough* cough*) My neck was in grave pain and I could barely breathe. I then notice that everything was wet. I look around, "Wait isn't this place, that place." I then noticed the water rising and I couldn't even swim. I saw myself and then slowly engulfed by darkness.

-----

I felt a bright light and opened my eyes. "Huh? Isn't this." the door opened "How long are you planning on staying there. Get up."

I was in a daze. "What was that?" I thought and looked at myself in a reflection and saw a bite mark on me. "What is this?" I touched it and the sting flashed something with a lady in black biting me. "Was that a dream? It felt like a dream."

"Hey, why are you just starting something there?" "Oh, yeah, sorry." He then grabbed my face and pointed it to me. "What is this?"

I trembled in fear as soon as the picture of him breaking my neck appeared in my head. "I- I don't know."

He let me go and left.

"I'm kind of worried. What does she want from me?" That is the question that bugged me all day since he was gone after taking breakfast.

Later that afternoon, I found her again at the entrance of the house. She was all white this time. I want to know if she's dangerous but she just sat there looking away.

"This place is beautiful right?" She said and looked at me. "A-are you asking me?" "Who else would it be?" "Y-your not trying to kill me right?" Then she had a deep thought. "That is-- well. How's your stay? I didn't know you've returned?" "Returned? Huh? What are you talking about?" "Oh, I see. Then I will come back here again It seems that guy is returning back so soon."

I didn't know whats he was talking about but It looks like she was talking to me, a me that she knows. I don't understand.

She disappeared as James came back. I'm a bit confused about it. "Hey, can we talk?" I said to him. "What is it about?" He then asked. "Last night-- Uh remember that I saw a woman, she came and talk to me." "What? What did she say?" "She greeted me and ask if I'm doing great. She game me the thing you asked." I pointed to the mark and he just stared at it.

He was just quiet so I made my move to ask something I should've asked a long time ago.

"I just want to know what year it is." He thought about what I just said. "The Year 2004." "Huh? Still the same." I said under my breath.

"You said she's she right? Any other features?" He was talking about the woman. "She is incredibly beautiful."

He thought about something and had this serious look. "I see. I wanted to talk to you but looks like this is perfect timing." "What do you want to ask." He then sat down and looked at me with a look That made me scared. "Who and what are you?" I felt a chill of a sudden on what he said. "What do you mean? I don't understand. What am I ?!" "You, I found you on the day you got here. I saw you fall from the sky. Explain to me why is that." "Huh? I don't know anything I was just on the way to work that day and things happened and I don't even know how I got here."

He was not persuaded and go along with what she said. "Fine, if that is what you say, then. Who really are you?"

She then told her everything about that. He was not satisfied with her answer and was pissed. "You're not going to say anything? Fine then."

He was so pissed and walked out.

That night she and he was not looking eye to eye. She cannot sleep and take fresh air outside. "This place is relaxing." She said and took a sigh. "Yeah, It is." The lady then said. "Ah! that scared me." "Sorry I didn't mean to. So you and that guy had a fight? I'm surprised he didn't raise his hands on you. He still cares huh?" "What do mean. Are you saying you witness it? Are you--" "Let me stop you there, I was just leaving and overheard." "Huh?" "You want to know this world right?" "What do you mean." "When I said how are you and the day I met you, you didn't seem to recognize me, I'm a bit sad." "What do you mean? Do I know you? Do I suppose to know you?"

My head is full of confusion, why is he angry all of a sudden? who is she? why does she know me? What is happening here? There are so many things I don't know, I'm confused.

"You seem a bit mystified. To tell, If you want to know what you forget, you can come to my place. It's a bit late. I will be waiting at dusk tomorrow at the bottom of the stairs. Farewell for now. Good night." she said and left.
