The carriage rattled and swayed as it made its way into the forest with the sound of the creak of the wheels running over a stone. The air was filled with the scents of magic mana highly concentrated, and the occasional call of beasts in the surroundings gazing at the carriage curiously. Dustin and Arin sat quietly inside the carriage, talking.
Dustin with a serious face looked in Arin's direction and said " Lad we are going to the castle be aware you are a human don't roam or leave by my side you are a human you will not be welcome by them and the king has made an exception there out for you"
giving a warning to Arin so that he does not get entangled with any problem. Dustin told the truth why would in a dwarf kingdom a human be welcomed there might be few exceptions for those who have the power.
After teaching him how he should behave in front of a royal Dustin started telling Arin about the places near the kingdom making him clear Dwarfs usually do not interact with other species until necessary the dwarf kingdom is situated inside a mountain most of the cities are inside these leaving few outside like Dustin one
The kingdom of dwarf is called GIANTUS the complete opposite meaning them it consists 6 cities inside the kingdom having more than 100000 population every city is under the king's control leaving 2 that are situated far from the kingdom far from kingdom might be wrong word they are situated near human kingdom which is away from kingdom as for why they are called included in the kingdom because they usually treat those cities as a market of weapons and other exchange are done there.
The dwarf king's castle is in the middle of the all other cities. The castle is separated from the other 4 cities of the dwarf making a completely different domain that has all eyes of the king well king has his eyes on all the other 6 cities. Inside this domain, not a single leaf doesn't fall from the tree without the king's permission.
Borin, who had been riding alongside on horseback, occasionally glanced back to ensure everything was in order.
As they approached a narrow bend in the road, a sudden, eerie silence fell over the forest. The sound of the clip-clop of bulls' hooves along with beast voices rang. Borin felt a chill run down his spine. He immediately surveyed the surroundings it was dawn everything was not visible. Sensing something amiss, he signaled for the carriage to halt and dismounted, his senses on high alert. Dustin, noticing Borin's unease, stepped out of the carriage, his hand instinctively moving to the hilt of his hammer.
But Dustin after scanning didn't find anything wrong went near Borin and with a questioning asked to ease the tension of the atmosphere " I don't think anything wrong what are you looking for "
Borin being a position was no joke replied "With dull senses of yours can find any difference, but I can feel the mana on the path has less concentration from the surroundings as if someone is waiting to ambush us."
In the shadow of the forest, a figure watching all these Seeing the ambush is revealed figure moved without warning, and emerged from the shadows, cloaked in dark robes that seemed to absorb the light around him. His face was obscured by a hood, but the malevolent glint in his eyes was unmistakable. He moved with an unnerving grace, a sinister smile playing on his lips. His face was hidden with clothes only his eyes and lips were visible.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" the figure taunted, his voice dripping with malice. "I believe you have something—or rather, someone—that I need to kill."
Borin stepped forward, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "Who are you, and what do you think you are doing making yourself enemy out of kingdom?"
The figure's smile widened. "Names are not important. What matters is that you, Borin, are about to meet your end."
Before Borin could react, the cloaked figure lunged forward, his movements a blur. Borin barely managed to draw his dragger in time to block the attack. The clash of steel echoed through the forest as the two began a deadly dance of combat.
The attacker was a master of both swordsmanship and magic his dragger was surrounded by m. He moved with an otherworldly speed, his blade flashing like lightning. As he fought, he chanted spells, summoning dark energies shooting them toward Borin legs.
"Umbra Fulgur!" he shouted, and tendrils of wood erupted from his hand, lashing out at Borin. Borin rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the dark tendrils that scorched the ground where he had stood.
Valiantly, the clash of Magic and Swordman reverberated through the forest. Each strike sent sparks flying. Borin's muscles strained as he parried the attacker's relentless assault, his breath coming in ragged gasps. The scent of burning magic filled the air, mingling with the acrid smell of scorched earth. Borin's swordsmanship was honed through years of training. His movements were precise and powerful, but the attacker's magic spell gave him an unpredictable edge. "Lux Ardere!" Borin shouted, and his sword burst into flames, the light cutting through the darkness.
Dustin watched the battle with growing concern he already informed arin to remain in carriage. "Arin, stay back," he ordered, positioning himself protectively in front of the carriage.
The attacker's appearance was strikingly sinister. His eyes glowed a deep crimson from within the shadows of his hood, and his robes seemed to flow like liquid darkness. Every movement he made was calculated, exuding an aura of lethal precision.
The fight raged on, with Borin landing a few strikes but unable to gain the upper hand. The attacker summoned shadowy blades that darted through the air, forcing Borin to constantly be on the defensive. "Umbra Tela!" he intoned, and the blades flew towards Borin, who barely managed to deflect them with his fiery sword.
Borin responded with a series of powerful, flashy moves, his sword leaving trails of flame in its wake. He spun and slashed, creating a whirlwind of fire and steel. The attacker, however, countered with his magic, summoning barriers of shadow to absorb the blows. "Nox Scutum!" he chanted, and a shield of darkness materialized, blocking Borin's fiery assault.
Suddenly, the attacker managed to disarm Borin with a swift, powerful strike. Borin fell to the ground, his sword skittering out of reach. The attacker stood over him, his blade poised for the killing blow.
"Say goodbye," he sneered, raising his sword.Borin was on edge breathing heavily lost his all hopes.
