Chapter 3: Lords

As soon as my mother took my dad to the kitchen, I closed my door before locking it from inside and sitting on my bed pondering for some time.

After pondering for some time, I flicked my palm, (woosh) I had just opened my closed fist when something surreal happened, my palm emitted a faint glow.

It felt like I was going to have the luckiest day with everything happening as per my need just by looking at the faint glow coating my hands.

" Well... It was just something I felt looking at the glow in my hands."

Anyway, I wasn't supposed to be able to do anything like making my hands glow as I hadn't awakened yet.

It didn't look magnificent like the way Lords did, but my hands were definitely glowing, but in an indiscernible way right now. The main thing that made me ponder about the glow in my hand was, it didn't influence the environment around me at all.

" Was I going to become a legendary (self-awakened) Lord that awakened without utilizing the Awakening crystal?"

"Nah, even self-awakened lords influenced the environment while using their abilities.'

From what I know and have seen when teachers demonstrate the power of awakeners once in a while to motivate their students, the awakeners, even the one who has just tapped into the flare within them and had awakened as lords have the ability to influence their environment to a certain degree as they were utilizing their powers for the first time.

It was due to the fact, that every awakened would have to communicate with the SF in their relative environment through their lord space to perform the feats that are humanly impossible due to limitations in the human body.

The degree of control any awakened had over his/her flare would indicate the disturbance caused by the awakener in his/her environment.

Those high leveled awakened would create less disturbances than those who had just advanced as newly awakened wouldn't have any control over their lord space making them like ticking bombs from the time before the Awakeners era. They could release a high amount of SF through their body harming normal people nearby, although it wouldn't harm those who were also lord like them.

Hence, Every new lord was provided with the 'Bracelet Of Containment' to contain and suppress the released SF from their bodies.

Anyone could know whether the person in front of them is a newly awakened lord or one with experience by looking at the disturbances caused by their presence in the environment.

Those that have awakened flame-attributed lord space would be like walking fire if they didn't have 'Bracelet of containment' on them while those with experience would only disturb the environment while utilizing their powers.

"Why was I pondering about such things?!! you say."

It was because I was able to make my hands glow, just like some lords would while using their abilities for no reason while I was playing some games on my mobile yesterday. Only those who are able to tap into the flare and awaken the lord space within them could do something like making their hands glow like I was doing right now.

The difference between other awakeners and my ability was awakeners would slightly disturb the environment as per their attributes but the glow in my hand didn't do anything to the environment at all.

Anyway, I would know the reason for such phenomena while awakening the lord's space within my body after a week.

So, I stopped thinking about anything at all before lying on my bed.

I actually fell asleep, it might be due to the fact I had been listening to the same story several times today or something else.

Knock... Knock....

I was woken by the light knock on the door.

" Oii, Sumit, come down to have dinner. Your mother is giving me a hard time." It was my father telling me to get down to have dinner.

Only after listening to him did I check the clock on the table beside my bed.

9:00 pm

"Holy, I slept for more than 5 hours." My drowsy eyes opened up at lightning-fast speed and I went out of my room in haste before reaching the dining room where the dishes were already served as my parents were waiting for me.

" What made you forget about dinner time, my boy?"

Listening to the charming yet ominous voice, I only looked at my mother timidly before looking at my father who didn't even dare to lift his head up before sighing for bad luck today.

" Well, this lady is in a good mood today, so I will let you have dinner with us today. Otherwise, Hmph....", After glaring at me with her Phoenix eyes and snorting at me, she also started eating.

Listening to my mother, I thanked my luck today as the bad luck I mentioned earlier was reversed due to her simple statement before having dinner, I ate two times more than regular making my parents speechless.

Even though I was also amazed by the increase in my appetite for seemingly no reason, I had my own thoughts about the reason for the sudden increase in my appetite.

Anyway, "the thing is I was also genuinely amazed by the increase in my appetite."

After having dinner, my father and I started cleaning the dining room while my mother went to do the dishes.

"Gotta do your job. You know...'

It was already 10:30 by the time we completed our household chores.

We were sitting in the living room while listening to the news and talking about my upcoming awakening ceremony.

The vibe here was relaxed as my father wasn't able to tell me the same boring story due to the presence of my mother who was smiling and talking about the things happening in the shelter we were living in.

After talking about several unnecessary things for about half an hour, I returned to my room and locked the door from the inside before lying in bed.

Now I think about it, I didn't feel anything like I was taught by my teachers regarding awakened ones after clearing my mind right now.

" Am I the legendary (self-awakened) lord or... ?" I thought about it for some time.

"No…. "The thought about becoming a legendary self-awakened was thrown out of my mind the second it came to my brain as I would have been a releasing SF from my body without the help of ' Bracelet of containment' injuring my parents in the first place.

Also, As per the teachers, every awakened one would feel the presence of Spatial flare within their surroundings and feel their bodies brimming with energy as their bodies slowly gather the SF from the environment while tempering themselves.

They would also feel the presence of the Lord's space within their body once they were able to tap the flare within their body. The awakened lord's space would then refine the SF from the environment and feed it to the Lord's body.

The refined SF from the lord space would help the lord attune their bodies according to the attribute of the lord space awakened by them while tempering them in the process.

Also, their bodies would have evolved once they awakened the lord space for the first time, those with evolved bodies would have significant changes in their bodies according to the attribute of the lord space they have awakened.

But, In my case, nothing happened to me, I didn't feel anything around me. I also didn't feel like my body was full of energy. In place of being full of energy, I have been feeling lethargic since yesterday after my hands glowed for no reason. As for evolving, I don't even want to think about it at all.

As for feeling the link between me and the Lord's space inside my body.

" I felt nothing."

"Hell, Did I become the legendary (self-awakened) lord or not? Hmm.. Was my brain hallucinating because of excitement for the upcoming awakening ceremony…?!" This was the last question I had in my brain before falling asleep.
