'As expected, those who look the most easygoing are often the most intelligent,' Lynn murmured to himself, rubbing his chin as he mentally labeled Night Emperor Trunsoest as a cunning old fox.
He didn't believe for a moment that someone who could ally with Tudor to backstab Solomon, and then gain the support of the six Gods, could be a true bookworm or an innocent soul.
Just then, as if sensing something, Night Emperor Trunsoest, from atop his flower carriage, looked in Lynn's direction, and their gazes met.
Lynn blinked, taking about a tenth of a second to consider the consequences of his false identity being exposed, and another hundredth of a second to ponder the effort the Evernight Goddess had put into their disguise. He then raised his hand slightly and waved at Trunsoest.
"Hi!"
Trunsoest visibly paused for a moment, an action subtle enough to go unnoticed by most, but not by the Blood Moon Queen Auernia at his side.
"What's wrong?" Auernia's lips moved slightly, her voice resonating in Trunsoest's ear.
"It seems we have an interesting guest in our realm," Trunsoest replied with a smile, his voice similarly reaching Auernia's ear.
"Who is it?" Auernia asked, following Trunsoest's gaze to see Lynn standing among the crowd. At this moment, Lynn had transformed from his previous boyish appearance into a handsome, refined young man.
Auernia instinctively searched her memory for someone matching this description but found no one.
As Auernia noticed Lynn, Lynn also saw the Blood Moon Queen. This vampiric Goddess of Beauty truly lived up to her title, her appearance being among the finest Lynn had seen, even among angels and true Gods.
'Well, maybe not quite as stunning as me...' Lynn mused humbly, not bothered by the attention from the two across the way.
He had hidden his identity mainly to experience life and not to cause some trouble for Bethel and Azik. Even if his identity were exposed, Lynn wouldn't be afraid. As long as his undercover role for Artisan wasn't revealed, he could still enjoy himself and perhaps even trick the Eternal Blazing Sun into a fight.
Moreover, Lynn's gaze once again fell on Night Emperor Trunsoest, smiling with narrowed eyes.
He had no personal grudge against Trunsoest; the feud between Solomon and Trunsoest was Solomon's concern, not his. Lynn and Solomon were merely ordinary allies.
The True Creator and Night Emperor Trunsoest didn't have any deep-seated enmity either. Their opposition was mainly due to Trunsoest's support from the six Gods, particularly the Lord of Storms, the Eternal Blazing Sun, and the God of Knowledge and Wisdom.
But then again, who said the alliance between Night Emperor Trunsoest and the six Gods was unbreakable?
Recalling the fate of Trunsoest, his queen, and the extermination of the Trunsoest royal family by the six Gods, Lynn blinked.
In Lynn's eyes, Trunsoest wasn't an enemy but rather a potential ally.
After all, another Sequence 0 in the world wouldn't be a bad thing. As an emperor, Trunsoest was more competent than the Augustus family.
Of course, this didn't mean Lynn had already decided to recruit Trunsoest. The latter was only under consideration for now.
If Trunsoest's evaluation turned out favorable, Lynn wouldn't mind making some deals with him.
As for how others would react...
'The True Creator won't mind, I don't know Solomon well, and the conflict with the Evernight Goddess and the Earth Mother... If the deaths of Night Emperor Trunsoest and the Blood Moon Queen aren't related to them, they could be allies. If they are related...' Lynn's smile grew brighter.
'It could also be a balance, wouldn't it?'
The Evernight Goddess and the Earth Mother never fully trusted Lynn. While Lynn was willing to cooperate with these two Goddesses, he didn't mind gaining some leverage to balance the scales. This way, if unexpected events occurred, he would have more control and wouldn't be left to face the world alone.
Night Emperor Trunsoest, unaware of the thoughts racing through Lynn's mind in that brief moment, simply replied to Auernia, "I'm not sure who he is, but... I have some guesses."
In his mind, Trunsoest recalled the recent reports on the mysterious Mr. Door's son, Libert Abraham. Although there was no concrete evidence, Trunsoest's intuition suggested that the young man in the crowd might be connected to him.
'The personalities seemed to match; Libert was rumored to be this kind of...' Trunsoest thought, retracting his gaze from Lynn and maintaining a faint smile.
Auernia, seeing this, didn't press further.
The flower carriage soon moved past the street, disappearing from sight.
"Libert, have we been exposed?" Azik finally spoke up, his voice heavy.
He had also noticed the attention from Trunsoest and Auernia, as well as Lynn's deliberate greeting.
"They probably guessed who I am. Ah, the troubles of being too famous!" Lynn lamented, rubbing his chin before smiling. "But don't worry, they're interesting people. They won't reveal our identities, nor will they summon 800 high Sequence individuals to surround us..."
Azik, at a loss for words, hesitated before muttering, "Trunsoest Empire doesn't have 800 high Sequence individuals..."
"Isn't that even better?" Lynn shot him a glance, then stretched and said, "Alright, we've seen the parade. Let's go home. Bethel should have dinner ready..."
"And besides..." Lynn suddenly remembered seeing a certain monocled figure among the attendants around the flower carriage. He couldn't help but chuckle softly.
Maybe in this timeline, before beating the Eternal Blazing Sun, he could even beat up Amon!
After all, this monocle-wearing character seemed up to something again.
