Yo! I was working on an interesting oc for the story and while sorting out it's future involvement with the story: 'Making mental films of me fighting on an universal scale battle royal with crush watching.' i decided to retcon some things and explain them.
It just a simple change but i wanted to make it clear showing my opinions on it, so if you disagree or just want to add something feel free to help me since I'm open minded 😏.
Anyway, what i wanted to change or make clear was the mastery and threshold thing.
After we got more info about Lookism and i spoke with many people here, on tik tok and Reddit, i came to the conclusion that the words mastery and Threshold mean the same thing.
At first i thought the same, but then i changed my mind and then after researching more i made this final decision.
Since PTJ doesn't clarify this i decided to do this on this novel.
So the masteries/threshold are now the same thing on this novel, but there are different levels that unlock different things, so now I'm gonna describe what i have for now, and if you want to suggest something or propose something else let me know and we can discuss since it's an interesting topic.
We currently have as masteries:
🔴 Strength: this one is clear as this exponentially enhances the strength of an individual.
The advanced level of this mastery is even more strength boost and passive state.
Example:
Mastery: Hudson, Youseong, mandeok, Jake
Advanced mastery: Taesoo ma, Gun, Gitae(probably), Tom
🔵 Speed: this exponentially enhances the speed and reaction of the user, with the advanced stage being invisible attacks.
Example:
Mastery: Zack lee, Jay
Advanced mastery: Sinu, James, Seongji, Gongseob
🟢 Endurance/Durability: we know that the two words have two different meanings but i saw many people call this mastery like that so let me know what you think.
This one makes the user more durable and resilient while the advanced state is the passive one.
Example:
Mastery: Zack, Samuel
Advanced mastery: Gun, Gitae, Gongseob
🩷 Technique: this makes the moves of the user more precise, fluid and well timed with the best efficiency.
The advanced state is.. I don't know, any ideas?
The known users are James and Eli, probably Tom since he is the fighting genius, but it's clear that the level of the three is different.
🟣 Sperm mode: The classic mastery of Jake, can it be called a mastery? Boh, but one thing is certain.
This shit is op.
Why? Well..
Can see invisible attacks and react to them, higher durability, speed, and most importantly strength.
I want some of that seed 😮💨 (No Diddy.)
The basic state is Jake and the other brothers probably or they just didn't have any.
While the advanced one is Gitae, I'm pretty sure his speed, strength and endurance is a product of this mastery in passive, and add this to his other masteries...
That 🥷🏿 is broken.
I still remember how he picked up Jake like a good boy 😂
🟢 Animal instincts: Eli ability, it just makes him ruthless, unpredictable and wild.
Enhances speed and strength?
I don't remember or know anyone else having this.
Well this is every mastery i remember and what i want to say is that the power system of this novel will be like this, unless i change it.
About the even more advanced stage of mastery that James (Of this novel) obtain against Daniel.
The ability to use more than one mastery at a time: that just allows the user to use more simultaneously without deactivating one thus having a drawback.
For example, a user could be using speed but he didn't activate his endurance so he takes a hit before he activates it, thus suffering heavy damage, while if he can use more than one, this would not happen.
....
It must be noted that even if a user has mastery, he can still lose to someone without it.
Example Big Daniel.
He didn't reach his wall and thus he doesn't have a mastery, that doesn't mean he doesn't clap others who have an advanced mastery.
Okay that's all.
