Lolz's Omniverse

This is just a place I put all my unfinished or scrapped ideas. Maybe if enough people like something enough I'll turn it into a full-blown fic.

Still in the fire

Gotham. A sick and distrubed city. Filled with monsters constantly vying for control. So vile was the city that many, even those who live within, consider it to be a manifestation of hell itself. Something that could not be dismissed as idiotic nonesess when you consider it.

With people like the Joker freely running amok who could disregard it? The only thing that kept the city intact and from being completely under the Villain's control was the existence of a single man. The Batman.

The Batman had for years tried to clean up the city, and for a time it had worked. Until an event many criminals call " The Golden Age of Villainy" .  This "Golden Age" permanently dismantled all the work the Batman had done to better Gotham.

It was during this age Bane had broken the Bat's back. It was during this age the joker killed the second robin jason Todd.  It was during this age that the court of the owls drove him mad within their maze.

It was during this time that Batman was defeated time and time again by villains such as death stroke, and even the scarecrow.  The only reason he had won each and every battle was luck, help from his Batfamily, and Sheer tenacity.

But even with his eventual victories the after effects pushed the city further and further into depravity. The city the Batman so desperately tried to save had reached a level of corruption so deep, nothing could save Gotham short of a miracle.

…..

In normal human society the instinct which humans held thousands of years ago to warn them of danger is all but gone. It withering away as the need for it diminished with the advancement of technology. Only those who train in martial arts or work dangerous jobs keep a hint of what humans could potentially sense.

'However it seems that rule doesn't apply to the residents of gotham.' Mused the reincarnate.

Currently walking  along the streets of gotham he couldn't help but notice the stares he got from the city residents that were out at night. Oh it wasn't because of the wound that currently adorned his chest. That had stopped bleeding ages ago; plus the citizens of gotham no doubt had seen worse.

Nor was it the physical perfection that was his companion. People like Wesly are common in these parts. Just take a look at Bane.

No rather it was the aura he carried with himself. The people of Gotham had long since garnered something of a sixth sense. Being able to tell the dangerous from the normal.

People like the Joker had an aura that screamed madness. However it wasn't a sickening disturbing kind. It was madness that held freedom, that had a certain charisma. It was part of what made the Joker so dangerous, his crazy was contagious.

A person like Bane held an aura that was standoffish. It held enough pressure to crush a man's will instantaneously if weak enough.

The aura that the reincarnate held? It told of power, Charisma, and being untouchable.  That was rare in Gotham. Something only seen in the likes of Don Falcone and other Villians that held positions even the local police respect as untouchable.

That's why the people of Gotham stared intently as they gave him a wide berth as he walked. Not daring to get in his way in fear of death if they did so.

'Is this what it feels like to be popular? Not going to lie it's kinda nice.'Inwardly joked the reincarnated soul as he walked towards his companion's apartment building.

It was quite amusing the reactions of the people of Gotham. He had expected some stares as he walked the streets in the night, but he didn't expect this much. He guessed this was the consequence of his two abilities.

' Still if these regular citizens can sense that much, how intune will the actual fighters in Gotham  be? This may make my short term goals much easier to achieve if they are very sensitive.' thought the man as he turned the corner to the apartment building he sought.

The building was your run of the mill apartment. Albeit far more run down then what show be allowed. Moss grew from the side of the building and the occasional brick could be seen falling off the top.

Turning his head the Quirk user raised an eyebrow at his companion. Who had the decency to look somewhat embarrassed by his choice of living.

"  Don't you have a lot of money saved? Why live in such a broken down place?' Asked the reincarnated man.

" This seemed like the best option available at the time, it was out of the way and barely known by the public. Though now that my intelligence has been enhanced by you I can see clearly it was a lapse in judgement." Responded Wesly.

It is well known that people search for the least likely or least known places first in an investigation. This is because criminals tend to believe that they are untouchable in Gotham as most have powers or advanced weaponry.

Shaking his head slightly the reincarnator walked to the entrance of the apartment building.

With a quick shove the unlocked door to the building slowly creaked open revealing its interior. The best way to describe it would be abandoned.

Broken glass littered the ground innocently, doors to rooms were busted open and destroyed. The place was a mess. Not to mention the all encompassing smell of piss and shit.

Wrinkling his nose in disgust at the smell, the reincarnator ordered his minion to bring him the money.

His henchman sauntering off into the building, the false Overhaul was left by himself.

Giving a glance towards the glass on the ground he finally got a look of the body he inhabited.

With an oval shaped  face with a rounded jaw,  modestly sized nose, large ears and narrow lips, round hazel eyes, and an overall roguish look about him, he could confidently say he was above average in the looks department.

His hair, silver in color,  is knee length, straight, and is neatly braided viking style.  That combined with his above average physic and tall height made him look like a modern day viking.

Still something was missing.

'I still haven't come up with a name for myself have I?'
