I woke up in bed, I looked around to find that it was a toddler's cradle. There were some soft and squishy toys right next to me. Having just woken up, my head was spinning like a horrible hangover but it was going away pretty quickly to some extent. I tried to stand by holding the railings of the cradle. Suddenly random scraps of memory started flowing into my brain and I screamed. It hurts like someone made a hole in your brain. But through a few images and phrases, I understood where I was born.
I was born as the twin of Hermione Granger in Granger family. Yeah, it was weird right. I noticed my twin on the crib right next to mine. Thankfully, she was still sleeping and didn't wake up due to my screams. I started recalling everything. It seems that my parents named me Jack same as before so now I am Jack Granger. Looks like Hermione and I became inseparable and she always starts to cry whenever I am not beside her.
Well, let's think about the future. I remembered that old goat said that my magic reserve will be the best there is so I immediately started trying the most basic charm that any idiot who has ever read any fanfics or watched the movie will recognize.
"Lumos"
"...."
"Nothing??"
I was not surprised but just a little bit sad. But then I remembered that I don't have any control over magic. That old goat refused to give me any.
So I need to start magic training. But the question is how will I get any books on how to train one's magic control when we have no contact with the magical world.
"Looks like I can only wait till my Hogwarts letter would arrive. Hopefully, it won't be too late but if I remember correctly even magical parents don't allow their children to do any magic."
I looked beside me. Seeing Hermione smile in her sleep I started to feel more protective towards her. Those bloody bastards will depend on her to get them through their problems in the future but now that I am here I will try to protect her from everything.
"I will always protect you, Hermione, I promise"
For the next ten years, I need to prepare in any way I can without magic. I will not try to force out and control my magic as it can be detrimental. There should be a reason for children to be kept away from magic till they are eleven years old. I don't want to take risks and affect my magic core. I don't have cheats as others reincarnate to magickly repair their core in any complications.
So I made a mental checklist I need to do for the next ten years:
1)Train physically as much as possible. there may be a relation between the core and the physical body.
2) Shows off my intelligence to the world
3)Make sure Hermione will not be shunned off in school and make sure she has friends
4)Learn any martial arts and always protect Hermione
Let's see what in the future awaits...
Ten years later:
Mr. Granger house
It was the evening of a lovely day, I sit next to my window along with Hermione, waiting for my parents to come home. They seem to be really busy in recent days due to the endless amount of patients they have.
Yes, My mom and dad are dentists in this world just like in the novel. That means all the strict dental care regime. Thankfully that old man gave me a near-perfect body and it doesn't have any flaw. Growing up I was the cutest kid in town. Whenever my parents along with Hermione went to parks others will buy me candies and icecreams just so they can talk to me and pat my head. Much to the dissatisfaction of my parents, I seem to have an endless supply of candies which they regularly clear but there would be another stockpile of them within a day. I shared them with Hermione regularly so she can enjoy her childhood properly.
Unlike the Hermione in the original world, I made sure my sister has friends and is not the same stuck-up she originally was. She is a more free-spirited kind of girl now. I think in novels, Hermione was neglected too much as a child so she threw herself into studies and tried to be a perfect daughter and followed all the rules so that her parent will spend more time with her. But now she has me to play with so she doesn't feel neglected anymore.
I started showing signs of being a prodigy at a very early age. Thanks to my memories of the past I can easily solve all problems till college level pretty easily but I still controlled myself and didn't show off too much so I can still attend classes with Hermione but she was just a good prodigy as I was. She could learn anything easily and soon we were known as Granger prodigies. Thanks to my good looks we were quite popular and many classmates made friends with us. Several girls made friends with Hermione just so they can keep in touch with me. Even though I know it's wrong I still let it be. But in these ten years, some of them gradually opened up to her and became really good friends.
"Knock Knock" Hermione jumped at the voice and with a silly grin ran towards the door and quickly opened it and ran towards the main door.
"Does Mr. Jack and Mrs. Hermione Granger lives here?"A man from outside asked us. Hermione giggled before grabbing the door handle and opening it. She quickly hugged dad while he tickled her in the armpits to make her laugh.
Mom came after dad holding a big delivery packet from KFC. "Is that for us?" I asked as there are only a few times we are allowed to eat junk food and we have been prohibited to spend our pocket money on it.
I opened the box and my eyes widen and my mouth starts drooling. My vision tunneled towards the perfectly fried chicken in front of me. I immediately move forward to grab it but those delicious legs are taken away from me.
"Wash your hands first young man or there will be no dinner for you" I locked my eyes with Hermione before we rushed to wash our hands. Luckily I was able to grab the largest piece before Hermione did.
"So our birthday is coming up next week" I said turning towards my parent. "Don't forget our presents this time due to work this time"
"We remember Jack don't worry we will be closing out the clinic on that day so we can be with two of you" my mum replied. I was very thankful to her as it would have not been easy to cancel premade appointments.
"Yeah, one doesn't turn eleven every year" dad said while helping himself with a large piece of fried chicken.
'Eleven huh, time sure runs fast" I thought
