Chapter 1-Having 2 juniors

Liao Ping is laying on a thatch bed in his cultivation hut, thinking about what to do for the day.

After a while he decides to practice his skills; which are telekinesis, painting, meditation, alchemy refinement, and chess for the day. His teacher, Hu Tu, watched on as his eldest disciple does random unnatural things that don't benefit his cultivation base, after watching his disciple finish playing chess by himself, Master Hu Tu calls over his disciple,

"Liao Ping, come over here, I have some news for you!"

"Master, what is the news?" "The sect is having an entrance examination for new disciples tomorrow and I hope to bring a junior sister to fix you up!" "Oh okay", after saying this he walks back to his cultivation hut. "Sigh, he doesn't care about having a junior to take care of him", Master Hu Tu turned around and returned to his cultivation hut to cultivate while his eldest disciple, Liao Ping went to the lake to feed some fishes and turtles he had gotten after getting some coins to buy them.

After Liao Ping finishes feeding the fishes and turtles, he makes sure the medicinal plants are fertilized and watered then goes to his hut to start calligraphy, writing, and sculpting/carving. Liao Ping starts practicing calligraphy for a while then writes drafts of novelties to promote and when he can't focus on fixing his drafts of novelties, he goes and gets some blocks of wood from the nearest town to carve.

Most of his rectangular wooden prisms are made into crude and simple things such as shapes, animals, and letters. After repeatedly carving rectangular wooden prisms into things and fixing his novelties' mistakes, he goes back to calligraphy then ends the day by cooking a simple meal of roasted fish and spiritual herb broth.

The next day, as the sun is just rising off the horizon, Liao Ping gets up from his sleep and starts cultivating his body by exercising intensely for the morning then goes to feed the fishes, turtles and fertilize the spiritual herbs. After that, he goes to paint a picture and adds some things to his to-do list which are music, cooking, and sword-play.

"Liao Ping get over here, now!" as his master called him, he went on over to meet his master "I'm here now, let us go see if I have a junior sister to take care of me" even as he said this, which infuriated his master they still left their Bronze Dragon peak to attend the sect entrance examinations.

As they arrived at the sect entrance examinations, they met other disciples and their masters going there, so Master Hu Tu started chatting with the other masters as the disciples started chatting with one another,

"Hello there, fellow Daoist Lai Wei, what are you heading to the entrance examinations for?"

"Oh, hello there, fellow Daoist Hu Tu, I am going to the examinations to see if I can find a junior for my eldest disciple, Lui Xuegang. what are you going there for?"

"I am going to find a junior disciple since it's been a long time since I taught someone about cultivating"

As they talked, Liao Ping took out a piece of dried animal skin to write out what he could do to improve his novelties. By the time everyone reached the entrance examinations area, they had finished their conversation. In the entrance examinations, three people stood out at the end of the exam; Ma Zhelan, Huang Tao, and Gao Shi. Auntie-Master, Fu Shuren chose Ma Zhelan as a disciple since she thinks she'll be compatible with learning her sword arts and techniques while Huang Tao was chosen by Uncle-Master, Lai Wei because he saw an adventurous spirit in him who was also open-minded, and Gao Shi was chosen by Liao Pings master, Hu Tu who chose Ma Shu as well.

As everyone had gotten a disciple of their own, everyone left to return to their peaks. Before Liao Ping had the chance to think about other things, his master delegated him the task of showing the sect to Ma Shu and Gao Shi after he finished teaching them the basics of cultivation. After hearing about what he had to do, Liao Ping decided that he might as well paint another picture for his second junior sister. While Liao Ping was painting, his master was teaching Ma Shu and Gao Shi about what they should be aware of while cultivating, "When you first start cultivation, you should focus on having a stable base for cultivating into new realms and shouldn't worry about being fast or catching up to your peers" as the duo listened to Master Hu Tu talk about cultivation, they eventually asked questions,

"Master Hu Tu, I have a question" "What is your question" "My question is, what is our senior brother's cultivation level?" "He is at the foundation establishment realm while I am at the Divine Lantern realm" then Ma Shu asked her question,

"How long did it take for you to get to the Divine Lantern Realm?" "It took about 300 years to 700 years" "Oh, and how long did it take for senior brother to reach the foundation establishment realm?" "He reached it in 100 years" "Doesn't that mean that he is not too talented?" "No, it's not that, it's that he is just too lazy and is considered weird in the sect" "How so?" "He paints, writes, herds animals, and grows spiritual herbs like he's just an ordinary person, not to mention the exercises he does in the morning!"

As his master rambles on about how his eldest disciple is like, Liao Ping is currently outside of the sect buying ordinary animals and conversing with the townsfolk. "Hello there Mr.Lui, I'm here again to buy some more flower pots, and can you recommend me to someone who is a chef?"

"Sure, Ms.Chang is a viable option since she's been cooking for the townsfolk since she arrived, and it will be 13 silver coins for the flower pots" "Thank you, Mr.Lui, for the recommendation, and here is the change" "Why did you sneak in a gold coin?" "I did that because you recommended me, someone, to help me with my goal" after putting the pots into his storage device he'd gotten from his master, he left after restocking his materials for his daily activities in his daily life of cultivation.
