Chapter 8

Me and my squad were on the train, trying our best to make it there as fast as possible. But even the train felt slow... But it gave me time to think.

The Scorpion... I'd assume his abilities are that of a scorpion. I don't know why... but I'm nervous... I shook my head and laid back. I glanced out the window.

Soon...

We ran through town, trying to look around for this Zonbi. We made sure to use our noses, see if we can find the stench of a Zonbi.

"Y'all find him yet?!" I shouted looking around large areas of the city.

"I might have!" Jin shouted as I turned around and ran towards his location. When I was near, he was sent flying through a wall. My eyes widened as I pressed the button on my suitcase and grabbed my blade.

The Scorpion came out of the wall and had a murderous smirk on his face. I frowned. Soon, Souta and Akio arrived. He came out of the wall and put his hands behind his head.

"Man.. I knew if I kept doing this the ZAA would come after me..." He said sticking his finger in his ear. I decided to make the first move, running up to him slashing my sword. He rose his arm and block the blade. I heard skin being broken. My eyes widened as he spun around and hit me with a Scorpion tail.

I rolled on the ground quickly recovering. Alright... the fun starts now!

We all ran towards him. Akio swung his scythe but was blocked by a Scorpion claw, before he could break it, I came through and slashed his eyes, as he screamed in pain. Jin took the opportunity and hit him with his blade, knocking him backward. We split up as the scorpion stood up, his eyes healed.

I jumped up and perform a flip landing a slash on his arm, but he thought ahead. Sand began to appear in the air, covering his arm. The explosion of sand blasted me back, crashing into Akio. I looked over, as his body was mutated...

Shit.. he's using his stage one... Brown armor ran up his arms, legs, and body. His left arm turned into a Scorpion claw and he had a Scorpion tail. I turned my head and spit.

Let's do this! I ran up with Jin. I took a swing, but so did Jin, causing our attacks to clash. Shit..

The Scorpion took the opportunity, landing a hit with his tail knocking us back. Once we were on the ground, I recovered and looked towards him. Actually, our attacks clashing made sense, this is our first time working together... We need to train as a team after this.

Akio spun around multiple times as his yellow scythe began to spout electricity. Once the scythe hit the Scorpion, he was engulfed in electricity. He look at up and did a motion with his hand. I nodded and grabbed my blade, as Jin did the same. Souta watched from the sidelines.

I drew my blade back and extended it forward, stabbing him in the chest, damm I missed the heart. Jin tried to stab him in the arm, but the armor protected him. Soon the electricity faded which caused the Scorpion to be able to move, swinging his tail to knock us back.

He jumped up and began to crawl on the buildings around the city. Dammit.. Souta ran towards him pulling something out of his suitcase.

Huh? It looked like a smoke grenade. What's he planning to do with that?! He tossed it at The Scorpion, as it exploded, causing him to fall. His eyes rolled to the back of his head. His mutated body began to return to normal.

"H-Huh?" I asked walking up to The Scorpion. "What was that?" I asked as

Souta walked up. "Just something that nullifies Zonbi's abilities." He said. I looked down at it and rose my blade up. But his eyes returned normal as he jumped up.

"Sorry fellas, I refuse to die today!" He shouted as I grunted, looking up at him. He was parkouring on the buildings getting away.

"Shit!!" I shouted hitting myself in the head. Jin hid his anger but I knew he was mad.. We failed our first mission... Akio looked at me. He rolled his eyes and went to go get his suitcase.

I know he blamed me... Maybe I wasn't ready to become a ZAA member... I sighed and went to grab my suitcase... I...
