“Rupture”

Kafka's head slowly turned towards Morell's direction, the two facing eye to eye, as a mere silence filled the room.

"What did you do.. why…"

Morell walked forth, Kafka quickly getting up in response, as she attempted to push her back.

"Do not worry..! This is.. this is a mere misunderstanding..! Please, believe me!"

Kafka struggled as she pushed harder and harder onto Morell, though Kafka was the one being pushed, Morell walking forth with ease as she stared towards the man sat in the back.

"This.. was this all a scheme..? Were you plotting to do the same to Reece and I..? I trusted you."

Morell pushed her aside, staring down at the bandaged man in front of her as she reached forth, tearing the tubes out of him, blood leaking everywhere.

Kafka audibly gasped, rushing back up as she panicked, attempting to scoop the blood back into the man's holes, his breathing coming to a halt.

Morell watched down at the act, a lack of expression on her face, as Kafka cried out desperately, before reaching up, attempting to take the tubes back from Morell's hands.

"You peasant! Look at what you've done, all my hard work.. You and your pathetic friend deserve to die!"

Kafka's wrists opened up, blades coming out as she began flailing her arms around, the blades swinging towards her. Morell didn't even use her knife, she merely redirected Kafka's attacks with her bare hands. Kafka's uncontrolled agression was a weakness, one Morell could use against her.

Morell eventually grabbed her wrist, holding on tightly as she then kicked Kafka in the gut. The combined force snapped her arm off, Kafka falling back with a scream as Morell quickly followed with a stomp on her other arm, leaving Kafka armless.

"Damn you..! If I can't live, nor my dear Master.. You shall perish as well..!"

Kafka kicked into a machine, one seemingly controlling all the tubes and pipes, as a loud beeping could be heard, before the entire room exploded.

Morell's eyes widened, as she quickly turned around, attempting to run out, though the explosion had already began upon her first step, causing her to be launched out of the room.

She hit a wall, placed in a seated position against it, half her body hesvily damaged, as an arm and leg were blown completely off. She looked around, uncaring towards her injuries, she had been satisfied with Kafka's death, that Aku had been avenged.

Reece had arrived quickly, looking at the now destroyed room, before rushing towards Morell, leaning down as she helped her up.

"Holy shit, what happened!? Did you find Aku…?"

Morell looked up at Reece with an empty display of emotion, nothing in her eyes, as she pushed Reece back, falling back down as she crawled towards the destruction.

Reece felt slightly provoked, though something told her not to interfere, as she merely watched with worry written on her face. Morell burrowed her hands through the pile of rubble, searching around as she eventually grasped a thin item, her hand leaving the debris as she pulled out Aku's flute, staring down at it.

Reece's eyes widened, her hand covering her mouth as she walked beside Morell, falling down onto her knees as her eyes were locked onto the flute, tears leaking from them.

Morell sighed deeply, standing up on her mere one leg, as she heldthe flute to her mouth, resting the end on her shoulder. She began playing a very simple tune, consisting of few notes. It was a song of low effort, but the way the sound filled the silence of the atmosphere, there was such an emotional feeling to it.

Reece looked up at Morell, her face of sadness turning into one of awe, her tears stopping as her body movements slowed, calming down. She looked back towards the destruction of the room, standing back up.

"Now what..? Where do we go now.. what's next..?"

She side eyes to her, as Morell lowered the flute to her side, her eyes squinting as she saw a subtle green glow through all the rubble, attempting to take a step forth, only to fall due to her missing leg, as she instead crawled through the room's remains.

"Hey, wait up..!"

Reece followed behind Morell, curious of what she was doing, as Morell crawled above where the glow was coming from, digging through the rubble as she found a pile of bandages, a human heart leaking a green fluid sat ontop.

"Wait.. This couldn..-"

Morell was quickly interuppted, a hand suddenly grabbing her by her face, as Morell flailed her hand around in shock. A man stood forth, his skin pitch black, as cracks appeared through his body, glowing of a green hue.

He tossed Morell aside, Reece quickly rushing to help Morell back up, as they both looked up at the man with wide eyes, confused of who this might be.

"What the hell..- who is that..!?!"

Reece spoke in shock, though Morell stayed calm, conceptualizing who this may be. The man payed no attention to the two, as he looked down at his fist, clenching it tightly.

"It's been long since I've been able to move.. but now, I have all this power, I am God."

The man spoke in a deep tone, electricity charging at his feet as he ran off out into the streets, his electricity frying all the streetlights.

Morell picked up a broken pipe, shoving her leg stub in it, treating it as a pegleg as she looked out from the broken wall, looking towards the man in the distance.

"That is Kafka's master.. He didn't want to just heal himself.. he wanted power."

Reece followed from behind, placing her hand on Morell's shoulder as she nodded, clenching her fist in anger.

"All that energy, it's too much for someone to contain. Morell, we need to stop him! He's practically a running nuke, he can explode at any moment!"

Reece grabbed Morell by the wrist, pulling her along as she jumped out from the mansions, running into the center of the street, spotting the man in the distance, but she was simply too slow to catch up.

"He's too damn fast, we'll never catch him!"

Reece gritted her teeth, letting go of Morell as she caught her breath, falling down on her knees as she punched the ground, her fists bleeding from the impact.

"God fucking damn it! We've failed, Morell! Aku's dead, and now there won't be a city left to rule!"

Reece shouted out, Morell merely watching in silence. Her lack of reaction only upsetted Reece more, as she stood up, glaring at Morell angrily.

"Will you say something for once!? You're damn worthless, Morell!!!"

Reece then took a step forth, throwing a punch towards Morell, though she quickly avoided the punch, gripping Reece's collar tightly, as Morell consisted of a mad expression herself.

"Don't put the blame on me..! You're the one who decided to choose me to be ruler, the one who started this whole shit in the first place! You take one loss and now you just give up!? If I'm worthless then you're just a handicap!"

Morell lashed out at Reece, as Reece's expredsion went from one of anger to surprise, her mouth opening in awe as her eyes widened. Tears formed in her eyes as she pushed Morell off of herself, running away into the distance.

Morell watched, now feeling guilt, though she knew it was best to leave her be. If she hadn't been so gullible they wouldn't be in this mess, this was her problem she needed to solve herself.

She sighed, turning back to the direction the man ran to, as she slowly limped through the streets, her face written in despair. This was the end of the trio, and the start of a lonely journey.
