Liu Xiaolan together with Zou Xinghe made sure they didn't forget anything and were almost ready to go back to the village.
"Uncle Zou, should we wait for Liu Weixin?" She asked, hesitant. Although she herself didn't like him, it still wouldn't look too good for them if they just left him in the city alone…
Zou Xinghe looked at the sun and thought for a moment. "Let's leave, girl Liu. We've waited long enough for him, if we stay any longer we won't make it back before it gets dark. He can only blame himself for being late…"
Liu Xiaolan agreed with him and quickly forgot about Liu Weixin. It's not like she would care even if he got lost in the city, she was just a little concerned about Zou Xinghe's reputation in the village. Since he said that we should leave, then it should be fine, right?
Zou Xinghe and Liu Xiaolan immediately went on the road. Perhaps Zou Xinghe was tired and wanted to go back earlier, or perhaps he just wanted to quickly leave the city in case Liu Weixin was to run over in the next second, but their speed was pretty fast.
If usually it took them at least 3 hours on the road to go back, this time they managed to be back with a time of half an hour less. Might not sound as much, but it still depends on the ox pulling the cart a lot.
Liu Xiaolan looked at the tired ox and couldn't help sigh a little. She moved over and stroke his hair with her hand for a moment.
"Uncle Zou, no need to worry too much. It will turn out fine." Liu Xiaolan said with a smile, thinking that their fast speed was probably related to Zou Xinghe's anxiety in dealing with their issue of the butcher.
Zou Xinghe put on a little smile on his face and answered, "It's alright girl Liu. Quickly take your things and go home, it will be dark soon."
Liu Xiaolan thanked him and they separated, going towards their respective homes.
Once Liu Xiaolan made it back near her house, she couldn't help but sigh. She really can't wait to build a new house, let's not say that she's not used to the ancient way of building, but she is truly a little scared that once during the night she will be woken up by a collapsing building…
Perhaps her sigh was too loud compared to the quiet environment, but Mu Yuchen suddenly ran out of the house and catched Liu Xiaolan in a hug.
"Lady is finally back, I've been worried something happened to lady when I wasn't there…" Mu Yuchen said with grievances.
Liu Xiaolan was a little tired after walking for most of the day, so once she felt Mu Yuchen's hug she didn't resist and just let him hold her. "It's alright, I've told you before that I'll come back in the evening…"
Mu Yuchen ignored what she said and continued to hold her.
After a few more minutes, it seemed as if he remembered something and he started talking again. "Next time lady goes out, she needs to take me with her. I can hide lady's things in the forest, nobody will find them. I'm too scared to let the lady outside alone…"
Liu Xiaolan just muttered a little noise under her nose. "Alright, alright, little fool…"
When Mu Yuchen turned his head towards Liu Xiaolan's face, she already had closed eyes and was breathing evenly. It seems that after a tiring day, once she was in his arms she felt too comfortable and simply fell asleep.
Mu Yuchen had a smile on his face. As quietly as he could he picked Liu Xiaolan up and took her towards her bed, lying her down slowly and making sure she doesn't wake up.
Afterwards, he quickly ran outside and collected the sacks in which she carried newly bought stuff. Without even taking anything out of them, he run outside for some fresh water before coming back and heating it up.
With boiled water, he learned from the last time Liu Xiaolan teached him and he used a clean cloth soaked in water to wash her face, neck and hands. After that, he quickly washed himself as well and lied down without making too many movements next to Liu Xiaolan.
He took her into his arms and said with a smile, "Goodnight, my little lady…"

Meanwhile, Shen Meijing was walking in circles around her room and had clear worry written on her face. Although her husband wasn't a figure worth imitating, she still spend many of her years with him and had some feelings for him.
She turned her attention towards Liu Xueyue and asked, "Are you sure they already came back? Your father wasn't coming back with them?"
"Mom, how many times do I need to tell you? I saw them coming back with my own eyes, dad was not there…" Liu Xueyue said a little bored.
"You little girl, how can you speak like that? What if your father had an accident?"
Liu Xueyue didn't agree with her mother at all. "What accident? Didn't father go to the city to sell these things? He probably got some money and went to gamble or enjoy life again, it's not the first time father didn't come back anyway…"
Shen Meijing was still worried, but in the end she decided to trust her daughter's judgement. After all, Liu Weixin did have a history of playing around in the city without sending any word back to them…
After all, her son Liu Ping was in Shenyang as well. If something happened to Liu Weixin, he would probably just find his son to help him out.
With this in mind, Shen Meijing no longer worried herself and went to bed as well. It wasn't worth it to worry about him right now while he could be having a great time on his own. After all his love for money wasn't small, now that he earned some money he probably just forgot about them again.
