As I ran towards Lio that night, something hit me. I'd never thought about it before, but, I always cared about Lio. He was always there. With that smile that always warmed me up. Made me feel like a better person. He created the ego I have today.
As I arrived at the address, one thing lingered on my mind. I'm going to do it different. I sighed and entered the building. It's a tall manor like home, and as soon as I entered, a long hall stood in front of me.
Standing in said hallway, was Lio, talking to a blonde guy. My teeth gritted. I dont like it. I dont like it at all. I let my fire sputter, hoping it will catch his eye.
To my surprise, he noticed instantly. He stopped talking to the guy and held up a finger before leaving the house. I follow him. In silence we walked away from the building and into the woods out back of it, leaning on trees as far away from each other as we can get.
"Look Lio-" I try to start, but instead I'm greeted with a punch to the face. I collapsed, clenching my face.
"Will you just listen to me?," I demand. I gasp as he yanks me up by the shirt, shoving me against the tree, his green eye glowing with anger.
"Why should I... You attacked me last time we met remember. Called me a nerdy crybaby who pulls his punches, Remember?," He demanded, his eyes widening as tears spooled in their depths.
"I've heard a lot of shit from you. But after everything I went through to leep myself from hurting you.... I broke my hand dammit... AND THATS ALL YOU HAD TO SAY?," he screams before kneeing me in the loins. I fall to my knees, kneeling over on pain.
"Yeah... I never asked you to!," I screamed back, grabbing his leg and yanking it out from under him. A loud thud sounds as he falls on his butt. He glares at me.
"Yeah and I never asked you to come here either did I? See, you're the reason I even agreed to staying. Because I'm a weakling. They're teaching me to beat you!," He yells, lunging forward and punching me in the gut, holding my head down.
"So why are you holding back?," He demanded. I fall backwards, pulling him on top of my. I gently place his hands on my neck, feeling my eyes burn.
"Because, Hurting you is not what I've ever wanted. I never wanted you to leave. In fact your the only reason I'm still breathing. So if you dont want to hear me out, fine. Then kill me, right here and now, because the sight of you turning your back on me is worse than death," I pleaded, feeling tears slide down my cheeks.
"Lio, without you, without our bickering, or you to push me to be better, I'm nothing. Everything I've ever done has revolved around you.. I cant tell why I care so much about you. I cant say why I should even be here. But the thing is, I do care and I am here. So as I said.... If you're going to walk away from me now, then kill me," I finished it off as a whisper. I could feel his hands trembling, his green eye glowing with unshed tears.
He moved backwards, falling off of me. I sit up, opening my arms.
"Please dont leave me Lio," I whispered. Before I could blink, we were hugging, our heads buried into each others shoulders. His familiar scent calmed me, even after so much has changed, that hasn't.
"Then come with me... We'll train together... We'll take this gang down from the inside," He proposed. I move back, locking eyes with him.
"Really? You'd let me?," I asked with surprise. He nodded with a small smile.
"Well I kinda need my rival to piss me off, otherwise it gets boring, am I right?," he murmured. I chuckled.
"I suppose," I retorted. Then I remembered. The police.
"But we have to go now, The police are coming here as we speak, They're going to swarm the place," I ranted in a hurried tone. His eyes widened before he stood and bolted. I followed him as we ran into the house. In the center of the hall, a large portal like vortex was spinning, the blonde from earlier beside it.
"There you are Lio, the cops-," He stops and looks at me.
"Hes with me. Hes good Dylan. Is everyone through?," Lio demanded, his eyes fixated on the door behind us.
"Everyone but us, let's go!," He roared. I sprinted after Lio as he and Dylan leapt through the portal. The last thing I heard before I jumped through were the doors breaking down behind me.
*******
Lio
After pur escape from the manor, all I could think about was Magnus. The way he smelt. The softness of his skin, the way his eyes seemed to glow in the moonlight. But most of all. His words. I'd never heard anything like them. He told me he was nothing without me. But that isnt true. It's the other way around isnt it? I mean hes so much stronger. Hes so much more powerful than I could ever dream to be.
Those few moments in the woods stirred up something in me. Everytime I thought of it, I'd turn pink for some odd reason. I'm not blushing right? I'm just flustered. But why were his eyes... So profoundly beautiful.
"Stop having a school girl moment and get in here," Lyras voice called on my intercom. I nodded, happy to avoid the thoughts in my head.
"Howd you do it?," Lyra demanded. I looked around confused.
"Howd I do what?," I asked. She shook her head in awe.
"How in all hell did you convince him to join us?," She wondered. I shrugged.
"I punched him a little bit I guess. It wasnt serious otherwise I'd be in way worse condition and he wouldnt be here," I responded. She smiled.
"I'm putting you two in the same rooms, he will now join you for training in the mornings. Keep a good eye on him. I have a great feeling about this," She grins, spinning her chair around. I gulped. Share... a room. with Magnus? I'm so dead.
When I arrived back to my new assigned room, Magnus stood at the door scowling.
"We have to share a room now?," He demanded. I shrugged.
"Its what the boss wants I suppose," I retorted, opening our door. I stepped inside, walking into the middle of the decently sized room. I toss my bag on the floor by my bed and collapse on it, closing my eyes. I hear shuffling over by Magnus's bed.
I open my eyes at the wrong moment, seeing a half naked Magnus unpacking his bag. My face heated up.
"What the hell are you doing... Get your shirt back on!," I squealed. He turned, his dark hair falling into his blue eyes as he smiled. I never noticed how tan he was before.
"Stop looking if you dont like what you see," He sneers, his face showing a whole different emotion than his tone. I turn, facing the wall as I gradually turn even more pink.
This. Is. Absolute. HELL!!
"Hey, Lio.. Can I ask you something?," I heard Magnus say behind me. I turned, just in time to see a black shirt fall over his shoulders. I rubbed my eyes and sat up, looking at him in wait. All I could think about were his words. I'd never heard anything like that from him. What is this feeling I'm having?
"Yeah, what's up?," I asked. He pointed down at my toes.
"What happened to you... and your eye," He whispered. I sigh, looking down.
"My eye, nothing that bad happened... But let's just say I'm not going to see well for a while. My toes and fingers," A chill went down my spine at that thought. I bit my bottom lip, closing my eyes.
"She cut them off. My fingers too. One by one. Then she repaired them. Let me recover for maybe an hour before she started it up again. It was weeks of constant pain. When she was done I was so pissed I could feel my blood boiling. She ruined me. So I decided, I'm going to ruin her. I'm going to get close and rip away everything she cares about, starting with this cult gang whatever the hell she wants to call it." I answered. I smiled at him.
"I can heal it if I really want to. But she doesnt know that. So I cant do anything without further exposing my power to her. Your turn. The weird bullet explosion that you used on me. I dont remember anything after that until I woke up, but I do remember the blast itself. How did you do that?," I asked with a smile. He grinned, putting out his palm.
"I asked Mrs. Jones to help me create some moves I could use to save you. That was for any metal doors or whatever, but it has its uses. But basically, I concentrate all my fire into that one place and I shoot it into the object. From inside, I will it to expand, causing an explosion. It's pretty handy. But I'm sorry for using it on you, if it makes you feel better I sustained serious burns from it," He started, going to show me his arms. I laugh and shake my head.
"Nah, existing is punishment enough for ya," I called out turning to my side. I could hear his low growl.
"I know where you sleep you know!! " He threatened. I smiled, feeling somehow reassured by that fact
"I know,"
Lyra
I giggled into the phone, tapping my fingers excitedly on the table.
"I have it master... I have the second boy. Now we will commence phase two of our plan!," I cheered. The voice on the other end chuckles. I could tell hes pleased.
"Good work Lyra. Keep up the good work. Remember they ain't worth squat to me as they were before. They need reformed. Instead of being two weapons attacking each other, we need a double edged honed sword, willing to cut through even it's own people. Dont forget it," He ordered. I laughed, picking at my nails.
"Oh Master... You know how my babies love the reforming process," I giggle, twirling my blades in my hands.
"Lay a hand on Magnus and I'll kill you myself. Let them change each other. I see a lot of potential in them, That's all. Good night.," My master ordered. I poured as he hung up the phone. I giggled, looking down at Magnus's pic on my desk.
"Dont worry Maggy... I'll find a way to cut you...," I licked my blade.
"My babies are so siked to meet you, " I spun around in my chair, staring out over the city.
"One things for sure. It's good to be home,"
