Kraven Willford

As I am reading a book on spices and how to create a perfect blend to enjoy your lamb meat with, I hear a shout from down stairs.

"Kraven! Dinner is ready," my mother shouts on top of her lungs.

Hearing the call, I put down the leather covered book on my wooden desk. I stretched my fingers which had gotten pretty numb from holding the book for a long while.

Then I get up and leave my small room. After my reading session which continued for a total of 3 hours, my tummy was expressing its need for food in the earnest.

"Haa~" I yarn, causing a drop of tear to escape my eyes. Then I head down the stairs, towards the kitchen.

As I enter the dining hall which was attached to the standing kitchen, the smell of flavourful meat and vegetables invade my nostrils.

I take a seat at the table and find my mother placing some more dishes on it. My dad was busy reading a book on combat even on the dining table.

"Place that book down and start eating." My mom who is generally a gentle person strictly shot out at my father.

"Rodger!" My dad at once placed the book on the side and began to dig in.

I moved my attention to the plates full of food and picked up a lamb chop. Placing it in my mouth, the tender meat juices soothed my taste buds.

Wasting no more time, I continued to dig in. My mother was a master chef through and through. I never had pleasure of enjoying such delicious food even in my old life.

Being an orphan before and dying in a car accident on Earth. I found myself being reborn in a medieval magical world full of amazing fantastical stuff.

Although, it took me by shock at first, my baby years gave me more than enough time to get used to this new life and accept my reality.

In this new world, I was not a human, atleast not completely. My mother was a beautiful elf while my father was a human, so I, as their progeny was a mixture of both, a half elf.

Although I looked entirely human due to my father's human blood, my ears were still slightly pointy, being a witness to my elven blood.

"Kraven how are your studies coming along? You doing alright?" My elven mom asked me.

She was a beautiful woman in her 30's although, she looked far younger due to being an elf. Her hair was silver in colour with her eyes being emerald green.

Her skin was delicate pale in complexion and her face shape oval. She looked absolutely stunning worthy of being an elf.

My dad on the other hand had descent looks but nothing too crazy. His body was pretty muscular and he had a little tanned skin. He had brown hair with the eyes following the same colour scheme.

I still wonder to this day how he ended up marrying a gorgeous woman such as my mother.

"They are coming along well. I have read almost all the books you asked, so can I have the book I want now? Please!!!" I replied to my mother, begging her for the book I desired.

"Are you sure? I will test you before that." She said, clearly not believing a word I had said.

"I swear, I am done with them. You can ask me questions later. But I want that book on magic just after that," I demanded.

"Oh, pretty confident aren't we. We will decide what to do after the test. But beware, if you fail, the book purchase will be delayed till next year." Calmly my mother threatened with a smirk on her face.

But I was unwavering, I was confident in my abilities. I surely would not fail, "Bet, I will get that book tomorrow!"

"Haha... You two never catch a break, do you? Kraven, you should have just listened to me and trained yourself as a warrior. If you keep on pursuing your mother's path, you will die of old age without her telling you a single thing." My dad interjected the conversation.

Being a brute and a warrior, he had always forced me to follow the warrior path, but I being a smart young man clearly wouldn't settle for being just a warrior. I wanted to achieve something more than just a mediocre life, no, I wanted to pursue the path of a mage. This was the least I could do with my new life.

"Definitely not, I would rather be a scholar than a brute." I said as I shot my dad a glare. My mother also shot him a glare, clearly me and her both looked down on warriors.

Afterall, they were just a bunch of muscle heads, what would they know about the fantastical powers of magic.
