Who Can Give Advice?

When the next morning arrived, the Elders didn't mention anything to the disciples, making the ones in Mei Chao Bing's group wonder just what was going on.

"Could it be that the things we found weren't important at all?" One of the martial brothers couldn't help but ask that, looking at Song Mu as if he would be able to give him an answer.

Song Mu just glanced at him in return but didn't say anything. He wasn't the leader of this group so there was nothing he could say about that. If the Elders did inform anybody of something, then that would be Mei Chao Bing. He certainly wouldn't get between these people for something as trivial as this.

Mei Chao Bing glanced at them and wanted to sigh. One could almost assume he had snatched that guy's girlfriend away, considering that he always wanted to go against him. He pondered for a moment and then looked at Yun Bei Fen. Maybe he wasn't that far off with that thought.

Anyway, it would be nice if they could get to the point where he wouldn't always be the last person the others asked if they were in doubt about something. Otherwise, it really would be difficult to lead his team in the future.

"The Elders will probably conduct their own, more thorough investigation before they announce anything. Even though Elder Xing took a look at the stone desert together with us yesterday, that might not be enough. They'll probably check the town as well and probably inform the Teng Yong Sect before they take the next step. They have to keep some more things in mind than us."

The martial brother huffed a bit but didn't say anything to Mei Chao Bing. Well, at the very least, his question was now answered.

Mei Chao Bing turned away and didn't bother about him any longer, waving for the others to follow him. "I assume that there won't be anything more to find in the abandoned city. We should take a look at the rest of the area we are in charge of. We should look for any other special places and things like we found yesterday. So keep your eyes open for that."

They moved out and searched for anything out of place but this time around, things didn't go as easy as before. Neither did they find a place that stood out to them nor did they find an array or any kind of mural that pointed to one of the four big sects of the righteous side.

Mei Chao Bing couldn't help but once again feel that things weren't quite right. They hadn't had any trouble finding the array, the mural in the abandoned city and the map in the stone desert. But now, it was suddenly as if there wasn't a single hint left in the border region.

That was a little too coincidental. Most likely, there really was more behind them being able to find these clues in the first place. When they got back this evening, he definitely had to go and talk to Elder Baili. He couldn't keep the thought to himself. Even if he was just too anxious and making this thing up in his mind, it was still better if somebody else knew. He did not want to leave any chance for his Master to manipulate either him or somebody else. He owed that much to the Teng Yong Sect. And most importantly, to himself.

The group finally returned in the evening with the two martial brothers complaining as if it was Mei Chao Bing's personal fault that they hadn't been able to make any progress. He just ignored them, bid his farewell to everyone and then pulled Yun Bei Fen with him back to the courtyard.

"Can you train on your own for a while? I would like to go and talk to your Master for a bit."

Yun Bei Fen looked at him and then nodded. "Of course. Anyway, I'm not really alone. Xiao Hui is with me, isn't he?" He held up the little bunny and gave Mei Chao Bing a happy smile.

Mei Chao Bing looked at the spiritual beast and raised his brows. While Xiao Hui could certainly accompany Yun Bei Fen, he could hardly give him any advice for the practice, could he? But, well, he wouldn't be gone for that long. And Yun Bei Fen already knew what to do. "Very well, then I guess I don't need to be afraid." He hesitated for a moment longer and then let Da Hei out too. "Since Xiao Hui is here, let Da Hei stay with the two of you. I'll be back in a while." He leaned down and kissed Yun Bei Fen's temple, looking at him for a moment longer before he left.

Yun Bei Fen watched him leave and then turned to look at the spiritual beast in his arms. "Do you also feel that Mei Chao Bing is a little down these days? All of this must be really tiring him out." Once again, he felt that he should do something for him but he couldn't come up with anything. He really was useless. "Well, it's better to practice hard, isn't it? Maybe I'll have made some progress when Mei Chao Bing comes back."

He put Xiao Hui down on the ground next to him, took out his flying sword and once again tried to manipulate it with his spiritual energy. His thoughts weren't quite there though.

His Master had messaged his first senior martial brother to bring over the ingredients to Mei Chao Bing could forge a new sword for him. Then maybe he could ask his first senior martial brother if he had any thoughts on this when he came by.

It was just that he didn't know just how long his first senior martial brother would need. What if it was a really long time? He didn't want Mei Chao Bing to be feeling down until then. It wouldn't be good.

Then was there something he could do to make him happy on his own? He tried to think of some kind of advice that his senior martial brothers had given him before but it really was hard to find something. He had never talked with them about making your boyfriend happy, after all.

"Xiao Hui, when you're in a relationship, what do you think would make the other person happy?" Ah, it would be really good if there was somebody he could ask that would actually respond to him …
