When the Calm and Quite Snaps.

As Kurayami gazed at Raynare and Esdeath who were fighting to the death with their respective foes that seemed to be getting more and more bloody. Sometimes part of their armor was slashed and spilled blood or the will of God lost a chunk of itself in exchange.

The sheer flurry of blows they gave to exchange was quite a shocking scene as they were the only ones insane enough to fight the will of God up close and personal. Looking at the girls getting hurt like that to a normal person would be painful to watch, but not him.

He was looking at their ear-to-ear grins behind their helmets made him smile. Only a battle junkie could appreciate another's drive-in battle. To Raynare and Esdeath this fight made them feel alive in the only way a battle to the death could.

He glanced over to Lavinia who had activated her Balance Breaker and seeing it in action was a rare treat. She had a calm look on her face while the giant doll behind her unleashed a frozen wasteland. Of course, the land was Great Red who could not even feel a chill.

Kurayami was proud of her as in the past, she had feared her Logninous and still did, but recently she had started to try to understand it better. Lavinia smiled at the will that was becoming more and more frozen while its energy was absorbed by her sacred gear.

"I used to be afraid of this before, but not anymore. Thank you for your help God, I knew you were a good person. Your sacrifice will let me be stronger to help my new family and innocents. Before you go, I name this balance breaker Assoluto Argento Mondo, Thank you."

Kurayami, Artemis, Akeno, Kuroka, and Rebellion all froze at her words. Even in this situation, she was still an airhead that thanked something they were going to kill. She could be pretty scary when she wanted.

Still, Kurayami gazed at her Balance Breaker to see how it worked. he had to say it suited her perfectly as not only was the ice storm full of ice mana, every single one of those ice shards was filled with light and holy energy.

As long as one was a devil or any being with a weakness to light they would not only freeze, they would die a painful death.

'So her Balance Breaker is both an AOE, but she can distinguish friend from foe. From the power output, she is releasing this would be enough to freeze all Europe and more in a wasteland of ice and holy. Between Lavinia and Esdeath their abilities are different in their aspects as Esdeath is more focused on demonic even though she is a fallen angel.'

Artemis who sat next to him gazed at how different Lavinia and Esdeath were in their balance breakers. wWhile Esdeath's had just a much power behind it and had a similar potential for destruction, she had it reigned into armor instead of a storm.

"So in a fight who would win, Esdeath or Lavinia?"

He without hesitation answered.

"Esdeath 7 out of 10. She not only has 14 wings, but Her balance breaker is also a direct counter to Lavinia's. Lavinia is made to fight at range and her attack spreads across a large area, unlike Esdeath who is a warrior specialized at being close and personal. However, Lavinia's magic is unmatched as even Akeno loses to her in magic spars, so she can still put up a fight with Esdeath."

She nodded and she gazed at Natsume who had the weakest strength of the harem, but she had the drive to improve. One good thing was that it seemed that her opponent was much weaker than the others.

Artemis realized why this not only tested their strength but their wills as well.

"I can see why you call this a trial of wills. It tests not only their power but their heart as well. For most of them, the issue is of little issue, but for some, it is the worth part."

She was referring to Natsume as for her, this was the scariest foe she had ever fought. Even now Griffon was in his real form while she launched spears of light and magic at it. The more time went on the more injured Griffon was getting as he was being thrown like a ragdoll.

He was bleeding badly while he had several broken bones which Nastume felt all of his emotions and bit her lip. She was trembling as she had no clue how to win and was holding Griffon back as he had to keep her safe. Rebellion looked at Natsume and had a confused look on her face.

"Master is it just me or Natsume is scared and losing hope. She feels hopeless which is making Griffon weaken."

He glanced at her and nodded.

"You are not wrong, she does not have the mindset of the others. Never had, she has always had a weaker mind and her drive has never been about getting stronger. For a while, she has been training for my sake, not her own."

Akeno looked at Natsume who was close to crying at her own weakness. Her thoughts were a mess as she had the weakest will she could barely hold on to this fight by a ledge of death.

She was barely helping at all as she left the fighting to Griffon who was getting hurt because of her. It was a sickening feeling as she could feel the rage, pain, and drive of Griffon, but she was covering behind him.

'Why? Why am I so weak? Even Sae has become stronger and yet I am still holding Kurayami, Griffon, and the others back. Griffon doesn't deserve someone like me, he deserves better than me. Kurayami would have been a better partner than me.'

Kuroka's ears dropped as she could feel the emotions of Natsume. She glanced at Kurayami as she was going to ask him to stop the fight or do something to help her. However, she saw a cold look on his face as he knew better than to stop.

If her thoughts were confirmed and he did help her win she would believe she was useless. She might have been weak, but she was most certainly not useless.

He focused on Natsume and spoke to her.

"Natsume, why are you doubting yourself all the time? All this time you have never believed in yourself and as a sacred gear holder power comes from your mindset. If you think you are weak, you will stay weak. Look at Griffon, he has not given up yet, and won't as he cares for you. Do you care about him at all?"

Natsume grit her teeth as she looked at Griffon who was several swords of light in his beck and shoulders while the will of God getting ready to kill her and Griffon. The only reason it had not was that it was not even self-aware and was focused on Griffon."

Natsume looked at Griffon and the will of God and she walked forward. She was terrified, but she knew better than to let her fears take control. If Griffon was losing because of her she had to change her attitude.

"I am weak I know that much. I do not enjoy fighting like Raynare, Esdeath, Kurayami, or Scathach. I am not as good at magic as Akeno, Lavinia, or Serafall. I am not as useful as Rebellion, not held back like Kuroka, or as calm as Ophis either, but I got one thing to you, God."

She took a deep breath and her face snapped from hopeless to pissed off. She ended up looking like Samejima and it was a shock.

"FUCK YOU!"

A aura of pure anger came from her as the normally clam and timid Natsume just snapped in anger and she started to swear at it like a drunken sailor shocking even Kurayami. He was trying to inspire her not turn her like that.

The will, Griffon, Great Red, and Kurayami all started right at her, but she was not down.

"YOU SON OF A BITCH DARE SCARE ME, I KNEW YOU WERE OLD, BUT DAMN IT. HOW DARE YOU A DEAD, PEACE OF FILTH DARE BE IN MY SOUL? I will turn you inside out, ass first you dick. KILL IT GRIFFON!"

Griffon's beak opened wide in a grin as he roared out with pure glee on his face. As for Natsume she had a huge grin on her face with pure glee as she was laughing like the Joker. Akeno's mouth was wide open as she pulled on Kurayamis's sleeve.

"That is Natsume, right? I am not dreaming right?"

As a test, he reached his hand into her shirt and bra. She blushed, but she shrieked when he grabbed her nipple and pinched it hard. She fell to her back with a large moan while he twisted her nipple as a test for her and he wanted to do it.

She had a blush on her face before he grabbed his arm and begged him to stop.

"OK, Stop, I will really get in the mood if you don't, AHHH, STOP!."

He took his hand out of her shirt as she was panting with a turned-on look on her face. The girls all looked at Akeno and they were in no way interested in her kink. While she calmed down he explained what he saw.

"Nothing is wrong with her. She is just so pissed that she no longer cares about her appearance. You know the saying don't anger a calm person, well this is why. Now let's watch her new power."

She glared at the will before she got on Griffons back.

"Balance Breaker, Qióngqí Kyuuki,"

Griffon roared and his previous body began to pop and grow larger and more profane. His feathers grew blood red and an evil fire burned on his body. As for Natsume, the same flame appeared on her as a few curses marks appeared on her face and body.

He noticed how her power was increasing and her 4 pairs of wings grew to 5, while her eyes were bright red with fire. Just watching her was too different from her usual, but lucky for him she did not have a new personality of something.

She was just pissed enough to not care about her appearance. Kuroka's ears popped up as she cheered.

"YOU GO NATSUME!"

Kurayami glanced at her before he too cheered for Natsume's sake.

"KILL THIS BASTARD NATSUME!"

Griffon had spent years on end feasting on Kurayami's aura in excess, but until now he had not ever felt a big change. At that moment the massive amount of it surged into his very body and caused him to return to his original form before being sealed.

He roared and the aura he had consumed turned into bright red flames, wind, and lighting that revealed a totally different Griffon. He stoped looking like a Griffon and now looked like a cross of a Tiger and an eagle as an evil aura surged from his body.

Griffon roared at the will of God while Natsume was still all cackles. The curse marks on her body grew and size, but Kurayami made sure they did not hurt her which was a miracle. The will was shocked as it had never programmed that into her sacred gear.

Kurayami smiled as he looked at Griffon's new form.

"In ancient Chinese text and myths, the Qionqie is more like a tiger or fiend than a Griffon. I guess my aura just emerged in him at that moment and returned him to his peak. Let's see what the Evil Fiend of Deviousness unleashed."

Griffon spread his massive wings as he had not only evolved he also tripled in size, and charged at the will, and before it could react it lost an arm and a leg to the claws of the Creature it one sealed.

When the will was dead Griffon shrunk in size and now looked like a little tiger cub with wings. It was strange to see him change species, but she also thought he looked adorable. She reached out for him, but she fell unconscious.

Of course, Kurayami caught her before she could hit the hard scales of Great Red and smiled with pride that she had overcome her weakness. he just hoped she went back to normal instead of staying like a cruising sailor.

Kurayami picked her up in a process carry while Griffon landed on his shoulder trying to recover his reserves of Kuryamis aura.

"You greedy little fiend, oh well have your fill."

He rejoined the other girls who all checked dup on Natsume who was snoring with a big smile on her face. She had done it and she no longer felt so useless. Now only Raynare, Esdeath, and Lavinia remained the ones with Longinous level sacred gears.

Noe the climax of their battles was here and if they learned something from it all the better. This was a trial for their understand and will and none of them lacked a strong will. All three of them gazed at their foes with hunger in their eyes.

They all had learned a lot from fighting the wills of God. At the same time, Kurayami needed to know why God got so weak, but for now, he would rip out the wills of Azazel, Azrael, and the rest of Grigori's sacred gear users and fallen. They would be perfect for Azazel's new spear.
