Tournament Part 3 Risks for rewards

"Now then, in order to determine the order of the battles as quickly as possible and fairly, we'll be doing another lottery. Once your name is called, please come up and pull a number." The head organizer pointed at a flow chart while talking. "The fights will start pretty quickly, so head to the arena right after."

The fighters gathered around to draw. Some couldn't believe they made it this far after watching some fights.

"Okay then, when I call your name, come and draw." Reading the clipboard, he adjusted his shades. "Master Gohan..." The man made it to the arena and was suprised when the name that was called next. "...V.s. Bongo."

Old Gohan v.s. Bongo was just a bad match-up. Old Gohan had enough fun and forfeited the match. No sense in weakening members of Kakarots' team and fighting against one of his students he already knew the strength of..

Plus, he was ready to take a little nap.

"Hehe, well.. you know our elders needed a little more rest than others." The Announcer said awkwardly. "Let's move on to the next match up ladies and gentlemen. "Monster Gilan v.s. Chichi!"

Seeing the young woman enter the arena, a few were worried. But that went away hearing the cheers coming from those who fought against her and her fellow disciples in the crowd.

Monster Gilan was massive and looked no different than he normally did. A horn that looked sharper than the finest knife. With wings that looked powerful. Considering it had to lift his massive frame, they would have to be strong.

"Begin!" The Announcer was excitied.

"You are strong, but you are in for a world of hurt." Gilan did the cutting throat sign menacingly. "I am nothing like the weaklings you faced before."

*Schup!* Chichi vanished for a few seconds then reappeared in her same spot afterward. She folded her arms before turning to walk out of the arena.

The crowd looking on slack jawed.

"If I am going to be hurt, it would not be done by you... dino breath." Chichi stopped at the edge and clutched her hand. "You are just to weak to matter."

*Thump!* Monster Gilan fell out of the arena on his back. His chest and legs had a few hundred punches on them. The bones underneath looked like mush and his tongue lawled out to the side.

"A speed fighter, that is easy for most of us." Bongo smirked. "Unless she has something to get through the muscle, that is." Thought on a few piercing techniques coming ups.

The Announcer commented on the match as best he could. A few of the fans grumbled because they couldn't keep track of the situation at all. Luckily Baba had involved herself with the organizers and provided a magic inscribed screen with Towa beforehand.

The replay showed in slow motion what happened. Chichi rushed in faster than the normal human eye could track. Punching and kicking widely, but it was not just one of her; three other Chichi's had seperated from her to hit Gilan before merging back with her.

An extra pair of arms on the back of each of them. They all were using the Four Witches Technique. A specialty of Tein Shinhan.

"The next match up ladies and gentleman, Tights v.s. Mai. Hopefully, these ladies are just as impressive when fighting." The Announcer turned to the crowd, who kept their entire focus on the arena. "Hopefully not as fast."

"Hope you are not the same as the other woman of his." Tights looked a little feisty. Her eyes looked over to Hasky and Launch in the waiting area briefly.

"Woman of his?" Mai was puzzled then blushed. "I am not like that at all!"

"Oh, what an innocent thing you are." Tights teased. She was not expecting that kind of reaction at all. "This will be easier than I thought."

"Grr!" Mai used Bulk Up to the maxium limit. Angered that she said such dirty things by calling her easy! With the increase to her body mass as she charged forward with a jump kick, the crowds eyes bulged out.

"Woah!" Tights dodged feeling the danger. The swing at her head was enough to destroy the headband she wore with pressure alone. "It was just a little teasing!" Delivering a palm press to the stomach did nothing. "That is to dense!"

Mai's hands came down, targeting Tights shoulders. With a burst of Ki, Tights jumped back and out the way, feeling the intense threat.

*Crack!* The tile broke on contact as Tights dodged to the side to get away from the flying debris launched. A bead of sweat dripped down her face as the strength of the blow was beyond her imagination. The tiles had spider cracks outward a few feet.

"Hmm!?" Chichi felt Tights loose control a little. Her Ki rising quickly. 'She feels threatened, that won't end well for her poor impulse control.'

"Tch!" Tights looked at the woman with anger. She could only imagine how bad that would have been if she was hit by it. Maybe not kill her but defintely enough to do serious harm. "Dodon Ray!"

*Pew!* The beam of energy shot right through Mai's spine and knocked her down face first.

"She forfeits the match!" Kakarot Prime jumped into the arena, not waiting on a countdown or decision. "Hold on, Mai!" The shot was a bad and hit in a really terrible location. With the Bulk Up state, increasing durability, if someone was capable of piercing the flesh, that damage to the organs would be fatal getting through.

"Is she okay?" Lunch ran out of the crowd, worried for her friend.

"She will be." Kakarot bit her neck, transferring his Ki and Magic into her via Vampirism. Focusing his concentration, he pumped it throughtout her entire body to speed up the process along with the entire healing of the spinal area. 'I felt two Ki signatures from her.. that was odd just then.'

Picking her up, they moved out of the arena. Mai's unmoving body had the crowd worried but also excitied. Martial Competitions were kind of primal in that way.

A few minutes passed with the next match with Bacterian v.s. Pilaf ending in fanfare. Little Pilaf outsmarting the oaf and getting a ring out. The smell not an issue considering his body.

Backstage, the situation was getting heated.

"Leave it be, it was just an accident in the heat of the moment." Launch and Hasky were out for blood. Old Gohan tried to calm the rowdy women down. It was not working at all. 'Having held back this entire time, this was bound to happen.'

"Lunch, to make sure the extent didn't go pass my understanding, use the Magic Potarro Earrings and head to the hospital. Best to get her a full workup just in case and you, of course." Injured fusions still needed to be looked over. 'To many of my Multiforms are out doing something, and Towa already has her hands full looking deeper into those growing disturbances.'

"Right." Lunch placed her hand on top of hers and circled the magic to activate it. The two fused, with no noticeable change on the outside. "Ooh, I think something is really wrong. I can't feel her thoughts. It feels murky like .. a swamp."

"Then head to the hospital, you nimrod!" Launch yelled at her counterpart. "Come on!" She grabbed her and flew off. A few of the others from the Mt. Pazou flying with to provide security.

An unsteady mind would not do well for Teleportation. Kakarot's mind came back to the different Ki signatures from Tights. Using outside help would get her kicked out of the Competition arranged.

'Surely she is not using Divine Ki? To be able to "sense" that would take a very long time and a unique environment. Chichi could have found a way t completely blend Ki and Magic, which is why it feels so different.'

"Are you going to be okay to fight?" The referee asked, seeing Kakarot dazed and still unmoving. The organizers didn't know if the technique he used to heal the other contestant had adverse effects on him. "My apologies that our paramedics couldn't help."

Spinal injuries were definitely above an EMT. Having a full doctor and nurses on standby for a competition was quite expensive.

"Yeah.. I will be fine." Kakarot answered, finding his voice after burying the matter for later. "Take the kiddos home, best they watch away from the Competition. I don't think bloodshed can be avoided easily anymore."

Old Gohan nodded in understanding. Only remaining long enough to give a little bit of advice.

"Control your anger, it is best not to set a bad example all the same." The man was aware of the stakes getting to Kakarot every round of the Competition that went further. Most of the others thought it was jitters and issues from reports coming in. "I am sure you know better than most how accidents can go."

Taking the advice of his friend, he was not the issue currently. Launch's anger could still be felt through Telepathy when he tried to check on her. It was a sea of chaos and worry. Amplified by the condition Lunch was in.

A few of his people left the tournament to tend to the situation. Pilaf's medical expertise would be needed.

As this went on, Bora fought against Pump. With Bora winning and putting him against Hasky potentially.

Launch was supposed to fight against Puar but Yamacha had his shapeshifting friend throw in the towel the moment the match up was suggested. The odds of Launch killing Puar were pretty high.

"Kakarot v.s. Tien!" The Announcer called out. After hearing about the different connections between everyone behind the stage, he was not looking forward to this in the least. "Remember..... killing is prohibited."

"Heard you are very strong, but it is so weird your power seems to be decreasing by the second." Tien could sense the loss of Spirit energy and the decrease of Ki and Magic sent out in a single direction. "I would have preferred to beat you at your best."

"Hmm." Kakarot took his stance, not saying anything. "Haaaaa..." Exhaling to focus on the task at hand and prevent any openings.

"The quiet type.. I can respect that." Tien prepared himself. Heeding the warning that was given beforehand from Chichi about how he fought. "I won't fall into your trap."

The two didn't move for two minutes. Kakarot was not going to wait anymore after refining a bit using the Soul Art to restore energy lost. He vanished from the spot with a simple push of the toes, going forward like a flying arrow.

His eyes had darted behind Tien to project a false trajectory by leading him on with a feint.

Instinctively Tien looked behind him, but no one was there. Both sides nothing with a check of his regular eyes. His third eye detected his enemy before him the next moment.

"What..?" Before the strike, Tien bared witness to the weight of his spirit energy. Something that was way more dangerous to the Triclops than Ki or Magic.

*Bam!* Kakarot moved straight forward and punched him directly in the chest. Tien watched closely as his hands seemed to vanish but was just moving at a faster pace at key locations. He received three more punches before kicking his opponent away in a hurry.

One good turn deserved another.

"I am not that easy to beat!" Tien shouted, spitting out blood. "Tri-Beam!" The kick was a feint as he fired his energy quickly. The rampant discharge did more damage to him than Kakarot. "Ugh!"

Kakarot just raised his hand and absorbed all the energy at once. A smile on his face as he felt the immediate change cause a pick me up to his reserves. Not only that, he felt Mai improve through the Link.

"You.. damn you!" Tien glowed with a golden radiance as the white of his eyes was the only thing that was visible. "I won't lose without hurting you!"

No one liked being used by someone.

He struck fast and deadly. Fingers moving in the manner of the Crane Style but missing as Kakarot parried the blows with his tail. Each parry making the sound of crushed bones. But Tien's determination went through the pain.

Fingers mangled, bones shards sticking out of flesh. The traces of blood moving along the tiles towards Kakarot.

"Tien..." Chiatzou muttered as he felt his comrade's life energy started to go down with Kakarot's increase in turn. "..he won't survive at this rate." Next to him, the other members of the Crane Scool didn't like this at all.

"Ha..ha.. ha.." Tien continued to swing missing. Each strike was full of desperation and accompanied by more blood. Even the Announcer looked on with pity. "..I won't.. end up like Shen!"

*Woom!* The golden radiance increased to a higher degree in memory of his dead master killed during the war against the Red Ribbon Army. The Ki he exuded was not regular at all now. On the border of death and pushing his strength to the max, the Triclops tapped into power he shouldn't be able to.

"Yah!" A battle cry carrying his full spirit infused his next strike. He did a high jump kick going for broke. Not even consciousness as he did so.

"Humph!" Kakarot whipped his tail out, hitting the extended foot. Adding more momentum to the attack and carrying Tien out of the arena with a twirl. "Thought you would be stronger without tapping into this, wonder what happened?"

The Crane school fighter hit the wall hard. The bottom half of his torso sticking out. The referee did the 10 count before declaring the winner. Even unresponsive, Tien continued to mutter he would injure Kakarot.

Chichi watched closely and fought back a smirk. Having figured out more of what was going on by watching him fight. Coming to the conclusion that Kakarot was buying time for something.
