Chapter 1: On this day

[ Grand Central University]

A black Honda van pulled into a parking lot. A tall, slim, and curly haired boy stepped out the van looking around at a campus with a unfaze expression as his hazle eyes looked at a mordern school building with a banner saying 'Welcome Home Wild Panthers.' He gave a small smirk adjusting his bag onto his shoulder. "Such a beautiful place." A soft Jamaican accent appeared. "I still cannot believe my little Adler is going off to college." Adler mom said kissing him on his cheek repeatedly. "Mom!" He yelled out wiping the side of his face. "Aww I'm sorry honey." she giggled grabbing Adler bag's from the back seat. Looking around she noticed Alder brother was not around. "Where is your brother?" She asked looking over at Adler. Adler shrugged his shoulders unconcerned.

"Adian!" His mom shouted out. "Yes mama?" Adian said looking around the van as his ocean blue eyes and brown skin complextion lighted from the sun. "Can you help me with your brothers bags please?" She pointed. Adain nodded his head throwing a bag over his sturdy shoulders. Grabbing for another bag he felt the bag quickly get knocked from his hand. "let your brother carry his own stuff." A strong German voice said. Adian looked at his dad throwing Adler bags onto the ground. "Here Adler you carry your own bags your brother and mother aren't your servants."

Adler rolled his eyes grabbing his bags. With a mad eye Adler dad grabbed Adler by his arm with a grip. "If you don't lose this attitude right now so help me boy I-" He began to say but his wife stepped in between him and Adler. "Alright that's enough." She said placing her hands onto her husband shoulders. Adler gave his dad a frown storming off into the crowd. "Yeah thats right just go on and walk off like the little bitch you are! I'm glad you are stuck here because now I don't have to deal with you anymore!" His dad yelled out as students walked by. Shaking his head disappointed he apologized to his wife and looked at Adian as he saw Adian expression. "I'm sorry you had to hear that...but your brother is just pushing me to the edge." He said rubbing the side of his temples. With a force smile Adian hugged his dad as he understood. His mom gave him a big hug. "I love you Adain and your brother, and your dad does too..." She smiled hiding her tears. Adian gave a smile grabbing his bags saying his final goodbyes to his parents.

Adler pushed his way through the crowded entrance. He felt his phone vibrate, checking his phone he saw a message from Adian.

[ Adian: Where are you? ]

Adler took a deep breath turning off his phone not wanting to be bothered. He approached the front office as everyone was getting their room numbers. "what is your last name son?" A woman asked looking through papers. "Fischer." Adler said a little irrigated. "lets see here...okay I found you, room 109 to the right." she smiled handing Adler a paper and key card. Adler walked down the hall looking at his paper, forgetting about his surroundings he bumped into someone. "Watch where you going!" A guy yelled pushing Adler back. Adler bags dropped onto the floor. With a mad expression Adler pushed the guy. "Who you think you pushing bitch!" Adler shouted. Without hesitation the guy punched Alder in his face. Adler ignored the pain in his jaw as he tried to punch the guy, but the guy was a little taller and stronger then Adler. Students and satff members then heard the slurs and yelling. Running towards the scene, teachers and some students tried to break up the fight but the guy immediately slammed Alder to the ground.

Adian walked into the building hearing loud commotions. Seeing everyone run, Adian tried looking to see what was happening. He suddenly dropped everything as he saw Adler taken a beat down, he ran through the crowd pushing the guy off of Adler. "Get your hands off my brother!" Adian shouted in German. Adler got up wanting to launch at the guy but Adian held him back. "Calm down Adler." Adian said trying to restrain Adler. With everything going on someone shouted blowing a whistle. "That is enough! You over here and you stand there!" The man yelled directing his hands. "This is the first day of college and you two are already causing trouble, this kind of nonsense will not be tolerated! You people are not in highschool anymore start acting like adutls not godman children!" He pointed at Adler. Adler wiped a smudge of blood off his mouth giving the guy a death stare. "Now lets get things back to normal." He said noding his head at teachers and staff. Adian looked at Adler. "You okay?" Adian asked concerned. Adler looked at Adian, turing his head away from Adian he yanked his arm away from him.

"What's your name?" The man aksed walking up to Adler. Adler looked at the man with anger in his eyes. "Did you not here me? Do you know i'm the principal of this school I can have you kicked out just like that." He snapped his fingers. Adler looked down at the man name tag. 'Principal Johnson' Adler thought of why the principal last name sounds familiar but he quickly let it past his mind. Adian glanced at Adler then saw how principal Johnson was getting annoyed. "Adler is his name sir...and i'm Adian his twin brother." Adian gave a small smile. Principal Johnson placed his hand on his chin not knowing Adler and Adian were twins seeing how they looked nothing alike because Adler skin was much lighter and his hair was curly, as Adian skin was much tanner, with dreadlocks. "I hope your brother doesn't be this school year trouble maker." He looked directly at Adler. "He won't I will make sure of it sir." Adian looked at Adler. Principal Johnson nodded his head walking towards other students. "We just started here Adler you can't be getting into trouble all ready you have to learn to control your temper." Adain said seriously. "I don't need your lecture." Adler grabbed his bags moving Adian out the way.

Adler slid his keycard into the door. Opening the door he quickly closed it as he saw his roommate making out with a girl. "Oh shit... sorry." Adler apologized. He sighed feeling himself get slightly embarrassed. His roomate opened the door looking at Adler with a chill smile. "It's all cool bro." He smirked as he pointed for the girl to leave casually kissing her in front of Adler. Adler side his eyes away feeling a little awkward. With a flattery smile the girl waved at Adler as she walked past him. "Hot right." The guy said raising a brow at Adler. "I guess." Adler sounded unsure. The guy patted Adler on his shoulder letting him into the room. "This is my side and that is your side." He pointed. Adler looked at his side of room seeing how neatly and cleaned it was. He placed his bags on the floor flopping himself onto his bed still feeling the pain in his jaw. Looking up at the plain white ceiling he closed his eyes. "By the way my name is Travis, whats yours?" Travis asked laying down on his bed rolling a blunt. "Adler." Adler said opening his eyes. "So what happened to your face Adler." Travis smirked placing the blunt into his mouth." Adler looked at Travis. "Got into a fight..." He said honestly. Travis chuckled admiring Adler.

Adian was the first one in his dorm room. Looking around at all the action figures and posters, he knew his roommate was gonna be a nerd. Adian unbacked his bags putting his clothes and belongings away. Hearing the door open he was suprise to see a guy in a black top, leather jacket, chained jeans, and slicked back hair. "Sup." He said shaking Adian hand with a grip. "hey i'm Adian." Adian smiled. "Names Mark." Mark said walking over towards his figurines. Adian continued to put his things away but felt as if he was being watched, he turned around seeing Mark stare at him with a confused look. "Something wrong?" Adian asked. "Not really...Just you know wondering if those are your real eyes or contacts." Mark said squinting his eyes. Adian gave a quick laugh as he said everyone thinks his eyes are contacts. Adian pulled his phone out checking to see if Adler texted anything but the messages were blanked. "Of course... nothing..." Adian muttered with a sigh.

After everyone was settled in they were allowed to have a quick meal at the cafeteria. Principal Johnson stood by the door escorting the students in. "What are you getting?" Mark asked Adian grabbing a tray for the both of them. "I might just get some fruit and a slice of pizza." Adian said grabbing a fruit cup from the bar. Mark noded his head with a agreeable smile. Adler walked into the cafeteria with Travis looking as students stared at Adler remembering the beat down he had. "Don't worry about it dude." Travis patted Adler on his back. With a glimpse Adian saw at Adler walking. "Hey Adler." Adian said, but Adler walked past Adian following Travis to a table full of guys. Adian felt a emotion come over him, he saw a bench outside and decided to sit out there trying to hid his feelings. "Adian where you going?" Mark asked. "I will be back." Adian said walking out the cafeteria.

"Whats up bros." Travis said sitting down dabbing up his friends. Adler sat down looking at everyone stare at him at the table. "Yo Travis who this." His friend pointed. "That's Adler he's pretty chilled." Travis said. Travis friends looked Adler up and down. "How tall are you bro?" Someone asked. Adler took a small sip of his drink adjusting his proportion. "I'm 6'0." Adler said with a chilled tone. Everyone at the table was shocked, admiring Adler highet they all told him to try out for this year basketball team. "By the way Travis were having a little get together down at the lot tonight you can bring Adler along." His friend smiled. "Sounds cool, you want bring anyone Adler." Travis asked. Adler glanced at the window seeing Adian sitting outside. "Nah..." Adler smirked.

With a deep breath Adian held his head back thinking about a time when him and Adler got along. He rubbed his fingers through his locks getting his emotions together. In a short distance he heard a perfectly pitched voice, looking over to his right he saw a girl with long beautiful braids, with the most beautiful skin tone like his, glistening brown eyes, and a face that matched every part of her. As she got closer to him Adian eyes widened as he realized who she was. "Kayla!" Adian shouted. Kayla looked at Adian with the biggest smile. "Adian oh my gosh!" She said running to him giving him a hug. Adian felt his heart beat with joy and memories, feeling her arms wrapped around him he could smell her sweet perfume. Getting a good look at her Adian couldn't help but get lost into her eyes. "It's been forever since when seen eachother you look great." Kayla smiled swiping her hair behind her ear.

Adian mouth opened with a gap not Knowing what to say. "You...You look even better." Adian said taking a breath. Kayla smiled. Looking around she noticed something was missing. "Where is Adler." She asked. Adian smile slowly faded. "He's inside the cafeteria." Adian gave a small smile. "Well I can't wait to see him." She smiled. Kayla then heard her friends call her name. "I gotta go but I will definitely see you and Adler around." She said giving him a small hug. "Okay take care." Adian looked at Kayla. Seeing her run off to her friends he waved goodbye to Kayla. Kayla waved back. Seeing her leave, Adian couldn't help but to smile thinking about her.

[ 10:00 PM]

"Yo this party is lit!" Travis shouted to his friends. Taking a shot he wiped his mouth with a big yell. Adler stood by Travis looking at everyone drink and smoke. One of Travis friends walked past him placing something into his hand with a whisper. Travis looked at Adler. "Yo Adler come sit." Travis pat his hand onto a chair. "Whats up?" Adler asked trying to speak over the loud music. "Come take one of these pills man it will definitely get you fucked up but you will have some mad fun." Travis said taking a pill and giving one to Adler. Adler looked at the pill. "Nah man i'm good." Adler laughed. Travis scoffed. "Alright that's cool if you're to scared to have fun and be a loser just like you was in that fight." Travis said leaning back in his chair looking at Adler. Adler looked at the pills again. Giving Travis a smile Adler popped the pill in his mouth. "That's my guy." Travis laughed giving Adler a drink to wash the pill down.

Adler heard his phone ringing, he grabbed his phone from his pocket seeing Adian phone number. He rolled his eyes turning off his phone. After 10 minutes past, Adler started to feel himself get slightly dizzy. Everyone around him began to get blurry, his legs and body felt numb. Adler blinked his eyes trying to get his vision cleared but couldn't, he felt like he was in a another dimension as walls seemed to be turning and rotating. He stumbled with a walk and heard Travis friends laughing, looking at a couch he flopped himself down on it. Adler vision got more blurry as people chattering got echoed out.

Travis saw Adler and started laughing with his friends.

"Are you okay?" A soft voice suddenly whispered into Adler ear. Adler opened his eyes seeing a beautiful girl in front of him but could smell the strong alcohol on her breath.

"Yea..." Adler mumbled.

"Your pretty cute, how old are you?" She asked placing herself close to Adler.

"I'm...19..." Adler closed his eyes.

"Hmm just the perfect age." She whispered.

She took Adler by his hand dragging him into a empty bedroom upstairs. "Wanna have some real fun." She smiled. Adler tried to regain himself but couldn't. The girl walked Adler towards the bed pushing him down getting on top of him. "I'm gonna pretend to be your girlfriend..." She said giving Adler a kiss as she unbuttoned his shirt. Adler eyes stayed opened with no focus, the girl started to unbuckle Adler jeans but Adler grabbed her hands. "Whats wrong babe?" She asked looking at Adler. "I'm about to vomit." Adler quickly got up from the bed running to the bathroom. He ran towards the toilet vomiting. Adler began to shake feeling himself sweat, he tried to shout help but his mouth wouldn't open. He sat back against the wall feeling his body and mind shut off as everything faded into darkness.
