New world, new name

hi there. I see you made it through the first chapter. I hope it wasn't too boring. Well anyways I am here to tell you that this ff won't have consistent uploads and that I'm writing it cause I'm bored.

POV MC
After I lost my consciousness I woke up with a major headache in a pile of garbage under a highway and groaned. When I started to push the trash away I heard a groan next to me and saw Elizabeth also being covered by trash.
"Welcome back to the world of the living, Elizabeth." I joked. While she freed herself from the garbage with my help she started asking "How am I fully functional? Where am I? Who are you and how do you know my name?" 'It seems that she wasn't informed by the old man' I smiled at her "You are functional because I wished for it. As for where we are, well to put it simply, we are in a different universe and I am... was Kevin." She looked at me and appeared to be confused "What do you mean by all of this. Explain further." I sat down on a rusty metal box and explained "We both died, I met the being responsible for my death and he gave a second chance at life along with 3 wishes, one of which I used to bring you along with me."
She stayed silent for a minute and looked at the ground with a sad expression "Tell me, will I ever be able to see my sister again?" "I'm going to be honest with you. You will most likely not see YOUR sister but I guarantee you that you can at least see another version of your sister. There is only a small chance to see your original sister, but a chance nonetheless." I gave her a sympathetic smile. She looked back up at me with a pained but hopeful smile and asked me "You said your name WAS Kevin instead of IS Kevin. May I ask why?" I sighed and answered "Because this Name belonged to my previous life and it reminds me of my friends and family. I suggest you also change your name and mission. After all, Elizabeth died, right?" She lowered her gaze in melancholy. "I guess you're right."
I stood up and walked to her and said "How about this I give you a new name and mission and you give me a new name." She nodded and I continued, " Your new name shall be Marie and your new mission is to find your happiness along with me." She smiled "Alright I'll accept the new name and mission and in return I'll give you the name Jack." I held my hand out to her "It's nice to meet you, Marie. My name is jack." Elizabeth or rather Marie held my hand and gave me a weak chuckle "It's also nice to meet you too, Jack." Then I helped her stand up. "I guess the first order of business is to find a place for us to call home and for that I have an idea but first let's check what we have."
After searching in our pockets we both found letters from the old man. Both letters were about how the inventory functioned and about the upgrades given to Marie. It seems that my inventory has 3000 Eddies, some other minor things and is accessible to Marie. Marie got upgrades that made her seem more human, like giving her the ability to cry, eat and more but she can turn those functions off. The old man also wrote that I can play/watch my stuff with the help of a BD. For music I only need to connect to Marie with a cyberdeck.
"Marie can you access the city network and search for affordable housing? I'll check out if there is anything useful in the trash piles. Call me if you need something." Marie just nodded and sat down. 'Well, time for treasure hunting'.
POV Marie
After Jack went to search in the garbage piles, I started to surf the local network for information. I searched for history, problems of society, technological advancements and maps. 'It's really astounding how cruel and idiotic the humanity in this world is. The worst among them appears to be those so called corpos. I'm starting to think that my new mission will be impossible.'
Suddenly I heard Jack tripping and then shouting "I'm OK!". I giggled a bit and started to think about his answer about the possibility of seeing my sister again. 'I wonder how I'll see my sister again. Has he wished for the ability to travel to other worlds? No he couldn't have wished for that, otherwise we would already be in a better world. Whatever he wished for I hope for his sake that he wished for something useful, otherwise I will strangle him for bringing me here if we don't get eaten alive by this world.'
When I started to actually search for a place to live I found a few potential places. The best option was to rent an apartment in a building called Megabuilding H4. I needed to talk with Jack about this, but before that there were a few things I needed to prepare for renting or buying a residence.
After some time I called Jack over. "Jack I found a few places we could stay at. The best place would be in Megabuilding H4 in Arroyo. Here are some pictures from the apartment." After he looked at the pictures I sent him, he nodded "Good job on finding a place to stay. By the way, we need to find a broken car and tools because we might need a ride in the future." I looked at him with a deadpan expression "Aren't you hungry or exhausted from all the searching. It's best you go eat something. I heard of a good place to eat nearby so let's go. Also why would we need a broken car?" "OK. I guess I am a bit hungry, but let's look for a car after I eat. As for why, well I deem it less troublesome for us to steal a broken car that nobody is going to miss and repair it. Oh and before I forget. Will you also eat a bit, since you can now eat thanks to your upgrades." "Oh yeah, the upgrades. I guess I should at least try food once." Then we went to the nearest place. 'I wonder what food tastes like'
