How did we let this happen? The horror of a hunter

'W…what in hell's name is happening?... This wasn't… It was supposed to be a regular scouting mission. How did it… how did it turn into this?!'

Kim thought to himself, the terrifying scene in front of him only adding to the fear that had been building up inside him. Blood painted the ground and screams of his party members only seemed to add to the horror.

But even while all these were happening, John, the mastermind of the hell unleashed, stood at the entrance of the dungeon, a smile on his face as he locked gaze with Kim.

The moment Kim's eyes met John, a grin showed on John's face that only intensified the dread in Kim.

With a slight squeak, Kim immediately took a sharp turn; He was ready to run, escape from everything even if it meant leaving behind his soon to be dead party members.

Determination hitched on his face as he got ready to lift his foot from the ground-

Grawwwwl!

A lizard monster suddenly fell from the sky, landing directly on his position with its mouth open .

Snap!

Kim, in an instant found himself on the ground, discomfort hitched on his face as he halted, slowly turning his gaze to the right.

"Anh?" He blurted out, noticing the detached arm on the ground. He was sure the cloth was his, but the shock he felt left him completely brain dead.

Trying to seek confirmation, he shifted his look towards his right arm and that was when he noticed… It was missing.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!" Kim screamed in pain, gripping his armless shoulder as he rolled on the ground crying in pain. Blood poured from the opening, staining his hand and ground like a tap.

"My arm!!! Trrrrr! My fucking arms! Ahhhhh!!!" Kim screamed, trying his best to crawl away from the lizard monsters that were closing in on him.

"Hrrrrh! Ahhh!!!" He tried desperately to keep his screams hidden but the pain he felt was too intense, tears ran down the side of his cheeks as he rubbed his chest on his own blood in a desperate attempt to escape the lizard monsters.

Kim's eyes widened in pain again, when out of the blue, the sharp teeths of the lizard just a few feet behind him sank into his foot, crushing his bones in the process.

"Arrrrrgh!!! Someone!!!" Kim screamed desperately as the lizard monster lifted him up from the ground, swinging him back and forth like a rag doll.

And then-

Pheeeeew!

The lizard monster sent Kim's body flying. Like a small bomb, Kim crashed into the wall, finding himself completely battered and lying on the other side of the dungeon.

Blood flowed from the side of his mouth and his body was covered in dust and debris.

"It hurts… it hurts… it hurts." He muttered, his eyes barely open as blood leaked from both his broken ankles and his detached arm.

"Ahhh yes, the perfect life." John smiled, walking through the despair with a smile on his face, "The cries of the people as they realized their bones were getting crushed inside the mouth of my lizards, it's blood pumping".

He suddenly halted.

Looking to the left where he could see the group of lizards eating the leftover body part of a female hunter.

A cold expression showed on his face as he uttered, "What a lame ass class skill, I'll set this to the side, garbage". Scoffing, he walked away, his eyes shifting towards every dead person.

Finally, he arrived in the middle and that was when he noticed.

"Smart girl… I'm not even mad, I'm just impressed… girl, you can come out now".

He turned around.

Looking at every corner frantically, "Come out come out little girl… come out, your boyfriend is about to get eaten if you don't come out." He sang.

'Well where is she? I can still sense her presence but can't see her. I won't make the mistake of letting a single one escape.' John groaned angrily, stomping over where Kim was.

"Come out this instant!!!" John yelled, picking up Kim from the ground and smashing his back against the wall, "If you do, I promise to let you two go as long as you don't tell a soul what happened here".

Silence took over.

John with an annoyed look on his face, clenched his face and without any warning, punched Kim on the face.

"Come out!"

Paa!

"Come out!"

Paa!

"Come out girly! If he dies it's on you!!!"

Pa! Pa! Pa!

The punches kept coming, each one landing right on a viral spot in Kim's body and all he could do was stand there and take it.

His face was so bashed one couldn't recognize him. His feet were weak, barely able to stand on their own and even worse, his blood was leaking so much he knew he was going to die any second from then.

"What a bitch! You're seriously going to let this dude die, such a pain." John grabbed Kim by the shirt and threw him to the side.

Before Kim's body could touch the ground, Krista immediately showed up, her body transforming from dust into human.

Sensing this sudden change, John slowly veered around, only to see Krista carrying Kim in her arms and running away. Her body teleporting from one place to another in smoke form.

"Get her!!! Don't let her escape!!!" John yelled, pointing his spear at Krista's fleeting body allowing the lizard to all charge forward, closing in on a single target.

"Hey hey! Stay with me. Kim?!" Krista voiced out, her lips shaking in fear but she still kept moving, running as fast as she could without looking back at the closing lizard monsters.

Kim could barely open his eyes, all he saw was the blurry expression on the face of the person who was carrying him.

Turning his attention elsewhere, he looked behind her to have a look at the monsters chasing after them. Instead, he was left in shock when he noticed one of the lizard monsters was on top of them.

"Qui-"

Kim could barely get a word out and the lizard man had already collapsed right on top of them, sending them flying into different directions.
