Chapter 12

Clyde stared at me and Dustin stared at John with a terrified expression.

"get up."

Dustin got up and so did Clyde. They stood still staring at me. He looked at each of my wings. One was black, and the other wing was white. One eye was black and the other was white.

"You have powers,"he said in shock. I stared at him questionly. As I stared at him, electric blue wings came out from behind him. I look at Dustin and he has dark red wings. I stared at them.

"Where is Conner?"

"What do you mean?"

I don't know I lost him in Hawaii.

tumbling by the cave. "Finally shelter."

he fumbled into the cave and stopped mid step. "Tobias?"my voice was shaking. I ran to him and hugged him as hard as I could. His scent was the only thing making me cry. the salt of the ocean with a hint of honey.

"What happened to you?" I asked.

"Cobalt's guards were kicking my ass, when some tall assfucker came. Colbalt and her guards were unconscious. but cobalt escaped ,and left me. i didnt even see his face, he must have wanted to help me or something.

"Or something. colbalt was doing something to me from that distance. and that tall assfucker is my brother. his name is issac."

"We need a plan." Dustin said

John said."I know."

"Wait one minute. Can you two turn into wolves."

"Yes we can. Not always though."

"Weird."

"Hey John, how long are we going to be here?"

"We will be here until someone else comes and gets us."

I wonder how long that will be.

"I have a question." Dustin said

"What."

"What's with your eye?" He asked, pointing at John.

"It's a scar."

"But it covers your whole eye."

"I was attacked by a bear so what. You get hurt, get over it."

While we were in the cave we were playing t or d.

"Toby, I dare you to lick John ."

He gaped at Dustin and so did John.

"Dude let's just get this over with."

All of a sudden something lingered in the air. it smelled like roses and champagne.

"Wait, do you guys smell that?"

We look at the entrance of the cave to see a giant gold blue wolf. I shifted without hesitation. My back hit the top of the cave. I lunged at him. We barreled out of the cage. I jumped off of him right before crashing into a tree. He was abnormally large. But smaller than me I flattened against the earth when he went to attack.

He bashed into another tree. He bit the tree and uprooted it. He stared at me before he dropped it. He stepped forward to look at me closer. After a minute he yipped in happiness. "It's you."

I tilted my head.

"Oh right."

Then he shifted. And I see mason. I stood there in surprise. I shifted and slowly walked toward him.

Is that really you." I slowly walked toward him. I put my hand on his cheek. He put his hand on my cheek. "this is me."

"But your body had a giant hole in it." I leaned into his shoulder, my hands against his chest as he hugged me. Was it all a dream, or reality? I didn't know I was just happy that he was alive. But I was starting to like jack. I wanted Jack but I was dating Mason. Everyone came out of the cave Clyde looked at Mason In anger.

"What is he doing here?"they both said in unison.

They shifted and started tearing into each other. No no no. I wish you were here jack. I shifted not knowing what to do. I felt something brush up against my fur. I looked to see who it was and it was jack. Thank god.

"What are we gonna do?" I asked.

"You grab one and I'll grab the other one."

"Ok."

I went to Clyde and Jack went to Mason. I lunged at Clyde

We rolled over and I pinned him to the ground.

"STOP IT BOTH OF YOU." I growled.

"But he."

"BUT NOTHING."

"MASON GO TO THE CAVE NOW!"

Mason whimpered as he walked to the cave.

"As for you, why did you attack him."

"Who the fuck are you and why are you asking questions."

"Shut up Clyde. This is jack or jackal. Otherwise alpha."

"What he's the other alpha?" Mason popped his head out of the cave.

"Shut up Mason. You were dead when things changed." I yelled

"Oh so now I'm the guilty one now." Mason yelled back.

"Step out of that cave and you're dead. You're the next one to get a scolding so don't even."

I said."Listen I know you and Mason have a bad past but you both are in the same pack so you have to deal with it. Ok."

"Fine only because you are the alpha and my friend." Clyde said.

"That's what I thought."

"Now that is over we should talk to Mason."

"I agree." I said.

As we shifted We walked over to the cave holding hands. When we got into the cave Mason was freaked out by John's face.

"Oh come on, it's not that bad. Is it?

"Oh it's bad."

"Shut up Mason."

John's face was covered with scars. He covered his face with a Mask

"There is a better way for you to say stuff like that baby." John scolded,

"Much."

I smacked Mason upside the head. "That is not nice.

"His face is not nice."

"Bro what the hell I may be mean but I have manners." Clyde replied.

"Says the guy who beats up women." Mason said.

"That was 5 months ago." Clyde added.

"But still though "

"Forget the past Mason, I am a part of your pack so get used to it."

"Ok now that that is over, who wants to go home?" my dad barged in.

"Dad. How the hell are you alive."

"Uhh Jessie I'm a demon so I can't really die"

"What?" I looked at dad in surprise.

"I'm a demon."

"So let me get this straight. You're a demon, Mason is alive, Jack hasn't always been a wolf, and someone is trying to get me for my power."

"Yep that's the Giff of it."

"And now my hole fucking world is upside down."

"Hey it's okay, Jess, I'm here." Jack said.

"Just take me back to the base. I'm getting dizzy thinking about this."

"Here let me carry you."

"Whatever, just get me there."

Jack turned into a wolf and crouched. I got on and laid on his back staring at the stars. I didn't know how far we were from the base. It has been a long night and I want to go to sleep so I fell asleep while staring at the stars.

I wake up to the sound of music. I sit up. The smell of coffee lingered in the air.I got up and walked into the corridor. I followed the scent of the coffee to a room that looked like a living room.

"Ah so sleeping beauty is awake from her slumber I see." Jack said.

"You know it handsome now give me some damn coffee."

"Onnit. Alpha." He said sarcastically

"Oh shut up before I beat your ass."

"Here is your coffee."

"Sit." I said

Jack sat down next to me. I leaned against him and laid my head on his shoulder.

"So mind telling me who jasic is?"

"I will in time but not right now."

Issac walked into the room. He noticed Jack first then me. He walked up to us and sat down next to me. He stared at me for a good minute then hugged me.

His voice broke as he said. "I'm never losing you again."

I felt his tears drip onto my collar bone. I hugged back in silence. His scent filled me with happiness. Aspen wrapped in Sage brush. Then I had a flashback.

It looked like I was a little kid. There was dad and isaac.

"Dad, I have to go."

"What why?"

"We need to protect Jessie. Jasic is tracking me."

"How?" Dad asked.

"Well during the attack they stuck a tracker on me. I didn't notice until a couple of days ago."

"Where will you go?"I said.

Issac crouched down to look me in the eye and said."Don't worry about me Jess, I will be ok."

"Ok." I said I was confident.

"Dad take her and hide her. They're here."

"Now?"

"NOW!" Issac yelled.

"Come on Jessie."

"Where are we going daddy?"

"We are going to see mommy in Casper."

"What about Isaac?"

"He needs to do some work before he can come with us."

We walked out to the backyard to our garage.

"Hey daddy."

"What honey?"

"Can I choose the car?"

"Not today."

He held my hand and walked towards an old looking corvette . He looked behind him with a scared look in his eyes. He went to the passenger side to open the door. I got in as my dad hurried to the other side. He opened the garage door as he turned on the car. He sped off.

"Hunny, can you stay quiet for a couple of minutes."

"Sure daddy."

He scrolled down his phone while looking at the road. He clicked something and grabbed a cord to put in his phone. There was a ringing noise. It stopped after a few seconds.

"Hey babe."

"They found her."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean Jasic found her."

"Oh god. Is she ok?"

"She's fine but Issac stayed behind."

"Are you guys heading to the airport?"

"Yes. We are coming to you."

"Ok I'll be home as soon as I can."

"We'll see you in a couple of hours."

"Be safe."

"We will"

"Bye."

"Bye."

I look behind me and see 3 cars chasing us.

"Daddy."

"What."

"There is someone following us."

"Not for long."

He let one hand go from the wheel and raised it. I looked behind us to see a giant rock wall. I look forward to seeing a car in front of us parked in the middle of the road. I screamed as we were about to hit the car then we teleported into a parking lot. Dad slammed on the brakes. The tires screeched against the ground. I went to open my door but my dad was already there. He picked me and ran into the airport. As we entered the building I saw more cars pull up.when we got in this lady was at the counter.

"Mr. Suky. What are you doing here?"

"I need a private jet to Casper right now."

"Are you ok sir."

"JUST GET ME TO A JET AND BE SNAPPY."

"They found her?"

He stayed silent for a minute then said "Yes."

"Ok follow me."

I questioned how the lady knew but I didn't. The lady ran to an elevator and put a key in it. The doors opened and we got in. The lady pushed a button. The doors close and the elevator went up. When it stoped the doors opened we ran out to another door.

"Ok just go though there. We get you out of as soon as possible."

He ran in to the jet and sat me down in seat. He bucked even though I could do it. He sat across from me and sat down. A couple of minutes the jet started to move. I looked out the window watching take off. Dad was pacing back and forth. I was getting tired so I reclined my seat and fell asleep. When I woke up I was in a car.

"Hey sleepy head. Guess where we are."

"Where." I asked groggy.

"Casper. When we get home mommy has a surprise for you."

"Really?" I sat up.

"Yep."

"Are we almost there."

"Well I'd say We are home."

I see mom at the front door. When dad parked the car I got out and ran up to mom to give her a hug.

"Are you ready for that surprise."

"hell yeah." i said

She giggled as she opened the door. I followed her into the living room. I see a big box.

"Is that it mommy?"

"Yep, go open it."

I ran to the box to open the box. I open the box to see a puppy with a bow on it. I gasp.

"IT'S A PUPPY!!" I screamed.

"His name is jackal."

"I love him."

Then the flash back ended. Issac was still hugging me.

Then I ask, smiling." So is that tracker still on you."

"What do you mean?" Issac asked.

"You know the tracker that was on you the last time I saw you." I said.

"Wait, you remember that."

"Yeah I guess."

"Um, well no I don't. The person I was working for at the time took it out."

"So how did you find dad?"

"I tell you that it wasn't easy. We were following colbalt knowing you were out there we had to make sure she didn't get you."

"So why did you hold dad up on a tree?hm."

Oh that well when i saw him wanted to know where you and mom were and i wanted to know you safe.

"So that gave you the right to pin dad on a tree.

Well it would've been different if i knew you were there and a terrifying wolf.

Explain

Before he said anything dad, Clyde, and dusting came in. My dad looked at me and Jack cuddled next to each other. Then Mason came in and it looked like he had a bad night. His eyes were red and puffy. I got up and walked over to him.

"Are you ok?"

Yeah. Well I was trying to get over you.

Oh well you didn't need to do that I'll always love you just not is the same way..

Clyde interrupted our conversation saying."you won't believe who we found on patrol this morning.

"Senes when do you do go on patrol"

"Since a couple of days ago."

"We got here yesterday."

"Um Jess. You have been out for a couple of days."

Wow but anyway Who did you find?

Conner. He's asleep right now.

Oh that great news. I said. Well what do we do now?

I have plans

And what are said plans.

We walked for what seemed like hours but it was only a couple minutes. When we got there it looked like our school cafeteria but seven times the size. As I look into the room I see more than a thousand people. I don't do well with this much noise or this many people. my anxiety starts to rise. I wrapped my arms around my body. I start to breathe really fast. I look to the end of the room. I see a tall lady. She looked like me. The only woman I know that is as tall as me is my mom. I walked over to her in curiosity. my legs bump into a lot of people , sometimes i have to step over people. I was more than halfway across the room before people started to crowd me asking me questions that I didn't want to answer. My one goal was to reach the other side of the room. Then they started to touch my wings. when I twitched and my wings burst open and knocked a bunch of people back. before I even had any time to think I fell down and hugged my knees. my wings wrap around me. Then I hear someone.

"GET FUCK AWAY FORM HER!" a voice boomed across the room.

I hear footsteps running toward me. they slow down as they get closer. then feel a hand in my wing. I slowly open them to see my mom. she crouches down to the point she's on her knees. I look at her baffled that she is hear right now. i slowly reach my hand out toward her. As she takes my hand she said. "i'm here for you." the second she said that my arms were around her. We stayed in that position for about ten minutes before I noticed I had a headache. I finally let go of her and I noticed her back was soaking wet. I was crying the whole time. No wonder I had a headache. I hear other people rushing toward us. I look behind us and I see dad and isaac. I see tears form in my dad's eyes.

"how is this possible."

"It's quite easy. it's because of Jack that I'm alive." mom said.

Then Jack came with a big smile on his face. I stand up and walk over to him. He looks at me as I look at him. his eyes filled with tears of happiness.

I got a bit closer to him. hugged him and said."Thank you so much.''

We still hug each other but we look into each other's eyes. We stood there for a few seconds then I kissed him. He seemed shocked at first then I pulled apart. but he grabbed me then kissed me. our tongues intertwined with each other. my dad sorta kicked me. Then I pull apart from him. when i let go it feels like i lost part of me.

"We need to get out of the room."

"Valid point dad".

I stared at Jack and he stared at me.

Dad kicked me again.

"Oh sorry."

We walked out of the cafeteria and into one of the many living rooms that they had. I threw myself on the couch.

Isaac said. "I think we need to work on Jessie's power."

I looked up at my brother in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"Your power that you just unlocked."

"You make it sound like a video game." I told Isaac.

"Eh. You gain some, you lose some."

The next moment Jack brought me more coffee. I look around And I see my mom and dad huddled around Isaac. There's really no point in trying to listen. We went to another living room. As we go through the door I see Sally in the fridge looking through the assortments of condiments and salad dressing. It was like she was looking for something that wasn't going to be there.

I stare at her. "Are you looking for something in particular?"

She peeks up glancing at me then back to the fridge. " I'm looking for the raspberry vinaigrette. But I can't seem to find it." She closed the door in defeat. She headed to a chair and plopped into it.

We followed in her steps to some other chairs. I sat down into a soft chair and curled up into a ball.

"Jessei?" I heard someone say. I looked to my left and there's Jack in the chair right next to me. "We need to figure this out. Why do you all of a sudden have powers?"

I stare at him. I didn't have the words. I had no way of explaining any of this. First the force field, then teleportation, transformation. None of it.
