SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST A MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE

William, his expression guarded but hopeful, climbed out of his car, a bouquet of flowers in hand. He was prepared to face the inevitable scolding from his grandmother, but the delicate petals of the blooms might just soften the blow.

As he stepped into the house, however, the sound of light laughter wafted through the air, a sound that was distinctly out of place.

One of the maids, a young woman with kind eyes, turned to greet William. "You're here, too, Mr. Anderson." She said with a smile, her tone warm and friendly.

William's brow creased in confusion. "I am?" He echoed, his words dripping with uncertainty.

The maid's smile widened. "Your wife is here." She explained, the hint of excitement evident in her voice. "She arrived just a short while ago."
