Chapter 92: The King in Zurich!

There was an unbearable moment of stillness. Not even the slightest twitch could be heard. The suspense was pressuring.

Both the werewolves and maneaters alike were trying to make sense of the story by Rafael Gosling.

The silence was deafening as everyone was on edge.

"Son... I will be taking my leave now... as I said, no one would harm you, ..." Rafael Gosling took a look around his maneater subordinates emphasizing his order with his strong eye contact, "harm would only come to your Elders, and If you have any questions, please ask me..." He completed his statement as he paused for Azrael to speak.

Azrael was silent, unable to produce the words. He looked at Rafael for a while before his lips finally moved, "You've harmed innocent humans here today and eaten peaceful werewolves, how are you going to take responsibility for them...?" Azrael suddenly barked as if being possessed by a strange spirit.

Rafael Gosling was a bit shocked by his son's reaction and paused to think of what to say in response. "I am deeply sorry for what my men have done, but my kind has suffered over the years at the hands of your Elders, countless deaths happened in the last war, and there was a massacre with blood flowing like a river. This is hardly the tip of my vengeance..." Rafael was starting to get annoyed as the memories returned, he had momentary flashes and glimpses of the past and one could see the rage slowly forming within him.

Rafael was about to burst out when he remembered he was talking to his son, he immediately became calm and turned, and started to walk away.

He paused after a few steps and corked his head towards Azrael, "See you around kid..." he said before he marched away.

The humans and especially the werewolves couldn't believe the miracle they were witnessing, most of them thought they were done for good.

Azrael Herrington keeps making miracles and who would have thought that his mere presence stopped what could have been a massacre, or more like a mass genocide?

Although he nearly ruined it for them though, trying to provoke their merciful captors, or so they thought.

Alpha Azrael felt a tug on his arm, he turned to see April holding him tightly, trying to stop him from speaking further.

He wanted to speak further but April held on to him, using all the strength in her body to get his attention.

"What is it, April...?" Alpha Azrael sounded a bit frustrated with her.

"You might not care about yourself but if you provoke him, don't you think he can kill all of these people? And you can't possibly save us all at once, so please brother, let it go, save it for the time you both are alone..." April spoke angrily.

Alpha Azrael was forced to smile at her cute, and angry face. The way she pouted give him no choice but to smile.

He patted her head and turned to leave. It was at this time he noticed that everyone was gathered around him, no one left, including the young, old, human, werewolf, familiar and unfamiliar faces.

It was like a gathering of a group of people who were gazing proudly at their king.

Azrael couldn't understand the stares but the more he tried to pass through the crowd, the more they huddled around him.

Suddenly in a show of subservience, the people started to bow one by one before Azrael Herrington, and the humans even joined.

"Long Live the King... Alpha werewolf King"

"Long Live the king...Alpha werewolf king"

The chants started mysteriously but soon got so loud that the entire area was reverberating the words in a loud continuous echo.

Alpha Azrael couldn't believe what was happening. It was at this time that Naomi Banks walked majestically towards Alpha Azrael and as she moved the crowd gave her space, like a fragile body not to be touched.

She eventually stopped in front of Alpha Azrael and got down on a knee, "please lead us..." She said without mincing words.

At the time everywhere was silent. What she had just asked of him wasn't something small, Zurich was the werewolf capital of the world and Wolfsden was their base.

He was being asked to be king in the werewolf capital something even the elders couldn't decide on for fear of dispute or a revolt. Elder Tozic, the grand Elder with all his massive capabilities didn't dare claim the throne of the werewolf king for himself, he would have to keep other jealous and scheming elders at bay while also preparing for a possible war if Zanther Gosling were to hear of such a crowning.

Though everyone knows Zanther Gosling hasn't been seen for a long while, that however isn't necessarily the same as him being dead. No one wants to poke the bear, especially when they aren't sure if it is dead, no one, not even Elder Tozic.

Asking this of Alpha Azrael was a big ask, it was more like asking him to heap loads of trouble on his head.

Alpha Azrael wanted to refuse but he noticed that no sound was coming from his mouth. It was then he saw his aunt Bianca Zul appearing before him.

"Azrael, you will accept this offer if you want to protect your lover... Alex Bayly... if you refuse, you will lack the manpower when the wars come, and believe me they will come, the Kannais is pivotal to what happens next, her blood is the key..." Bianca Zul faded away after speaking.

Even in her appearance, only Azrael could see her. She was like a barely discernible ball of light, only her face was visible to Azrael.

Azrael knew his aunt couldn't be joking about this. He could tell it has a lot to do with the future. He looked as she faded away and also at the expectant crowd around him.

He tried to clear his throat and noticed that his voice had returned. With a steeled gaze ready to do anything for his lover, in a patriotic manner, he placed an arm on his chest and spoke, "I accept...." he finally let out.
