Chapter 77: Guest Lodge!

Two days had passed since the incident that resulted in the killing of Gellibert Ash at the hands of Alpha Azrael.

Alpha Azrael hadn't been home since. He has been going around the pack, checking to see if there are any more issues similar to the one he just tackled or if any individual(s) is monopolizing any illegal business at the expense of the pack.

So far he hadn't found any and decided to return home.

During that time, Alex Bayly had called his phone severally, but he didn't pick up because his phone was left with his beta, Londan Grey who at the time was busy attending to the homeless humans that Alpha Azrael had rescued.

Alpha Azrael got home after a long walk. He wasn't even in the least bit tired. He had been on his feet for the past two days but like a wolf filled with endless energy, he moved around tirelessly.

After walking for hours, he finally returned home and opened his front door.

He entered and noticed that his lover wasn't running up to him or hugging him which was very strange.

"Alex...." He called out as he started to search for her.

'Has she been kidnapped, did someone dare test me...' His temper was rising, the anger was showing, and the veins on his head were popping out as he started to move briskly from room to room shouting, "Aleeeexxxxx"

He still didn't get any response.

After moving around aimlessly, he finally found her folding her hands and sleeping on the bed with her eyes open.

"Alex... You had me worried, I've been shouting your name for the past minute and I didn't get any response..." Azrael spoke softly at the same time he felt a bit offended by that.

Alex still didn't respond as she turned her face to another side of the bed. It was obvious she was annoyed with Azrael, and now she was showing her dissatisfaction, how he plays this would matter a lot going forward.

Azrael noticed that she was crying and moved closer to her.

"Alex, did I do something wrong...?" Azrael asked softly with puppy eyes.

"No, just go away..." Alex finally responded.

"Alex, you're clearly upset, what did I do wrong, let me make it right..." Azrael reached out to her shoulders but she pushed his hands away.

She sat up and started to rant while speaking in a crying tone. "I called you several times, I left you dozens of messages, and you couldn't even reply. I was so scared and heartbroken, so many times, I feared the worst had happened to you. I was going crazy with worry and anxiety, and this continued until I saw you come in, how do you expect me to feel? Happy?... Feel my heartbeat, it has been all over the place all day. No moment of rest because of worry and fear..."

Alex kept shouting and crying at the same time.

Azrael now got the picture.

He moved closer to her and hugged her. Alex was forcefully shoving him away but he didn't budge, using his superior strength.

"I'm sorry my love that I made you worried, my phone was with Londan. I forgot when I changed my clothes. I always thought of you as I went but what kept me going was that we are connected so I could still somehow feel you. I'm sorry you went through all that, so from now, I will take you along with me everywhere, ...even to the restroom" Azrael smiled as he added the last part.

Alex who was frowning couldn't help but soften when she heard the part about the restroom.

She looked up at him and couldn't even hold her indignation anymore.

Her anger melted away and her soft smile returned.

"I'm sorry," She said as she looked at him and finally realized her mistake. She thought he deliberately didn't pick up her call whereas he wasn't with his phone, to begin with.

"It wasn't your fault..." Azrael added as he hugged her again.

They remained in this position for a few minutes before Azrael pulled her back gently and spoke.

"I rescued a girl from being mauled to death by some thugs, I'm thinking of making her a part of the family I hope you don't mind?" Azrael remembered the girl that he rescued and had at the time, asked his beta to take her to the Guest house, he decided to inform his lover about it.

"It depends though, is she prettier than me?" Alex asked teasingly.

"Honey, why would you think that way? You're my lover and my heart, without you I won't be complete, no one can replace you either partially or in any other wise..." Azrael spoke passionately and kissed her forehead gently.

"Yes... I get that, but answer the question, is she prettier than me...?" Alex reiterated.

Azrael looked in shock, " Seriously...?"

Alex nodded, signifying she was serious.

"Alright fine, no one in the entire pack is as pretty as you are..." Azrael went ahead to beat his chest as he spoke.

"So you're checking out the beauty of everyone in the pack...? Are you my lover or theirs?" Alex spoke teasingly.

"I fell for that trap didn't I...?" Azrael discovered that the question was a trap. Alex has led him on and he fell too cheaply for that.

"Like a deer in headlight..." Alex said and laughed heartily.

"Let's go see our new family member, but know that if I find her suspicious, she is off the table..." Alex said with a serious glare.

"Alex, I've never seen you this protective... Don't you trust me...?" Azrael asked curiously.

Alex smiled as she looked into her lover's eyes. "I trust you Azrael, but sometimes, when your lover is this handsome, you get jealous just by even seeing anyone get remotely close to him.." Alex explained as she cupped her face in embarrassment.

"Oh, so you think I'm handsome.." That was all Azrael could hear.

"Don't ruin the moment..." Alex said sternly. They both started laughing shortly after.

A few minutes later, Azrael and Alex walked out of the house and started to head over to the guest house.

There were 31 new individuals in the guest house. 30 beggarly and homeless humans with a girl rescued by the Alpha from the attack of 3 hefty men.

The humans had all changed to comfortable and better-suited clothes. Their complexion had drastically improved these past 2 days after enjoying the wealth of the Alpha.

They looked much better with good food in their belly and a comfortable place to stay.

The girl was seated by the table eating a big turkey leg when she noticed the Alpha and his lover.

She dropped the chicken leg and ran towards the Alpha and jumped on him.

"Thank you for rescuing me, you're the best, you can have me in bed if you want, I'm skinny but I can still make you happy..." The girl blurted out nonchalantly.

Alpha Azrael almost choked on air, he looked at Alex Bayly who was beside him, and was speechless.
