[❄️❄️❄️]
'...This is the worst day of my life.' Dang Yang groaned, face planting onto his desk.
Today's the day he starts to go to school! Specifically the Soul Master classes that lasts for about 7 hours, from 7am to 2pm in the afternoon with 12pm being lunch time.
And currently it was lunch time, with many students standing up to create their own circle of friends as they all steadily went towards the cafeteria.
But his school schedule and social life wasn't important right now. What was, is that it's so boring!
He could understand the first hour or two being spent entirely on Soul Master knowledge and some world history.
Basic knowledge like the Soul Beasts are on the verge of extinction, advanced soul weapons, mechas, various Martial Souls, the Three Continents of the world, Shrek Academy, Spirit Pagoda, etc. He and his classmates were taught some of that.
It was quite amazing to be honest.
After all, reading it as fictional and being told as if it was a world knowledge was a different experience.
But for the last three hours, his whole class, was taught on doing one thing—meditating!
Oh, doing such a thing in this world would've been enjoyable or life -changing, but in reality, it's plain torture!
Sitting still on a cushion for three hours with your eyes closed and trying to clear your mind was a task he found almost impossible. There was nothing challenging or interesting about it.
That and the fact he couldn't absorb a single pinch of soul power in the atmosphere.
Dang Yang didn't know whether it was him or his system that was making him incapable of absorbing Soul Power.
...It looks he really does enhance himself with Hellfire of Wisdom so he could advance in cultivation.
"Which means going getting a job." He let out a sigh.
Dang Yang couldn't wait for the class to be over, so he could escape to go to the Blacksmith Association to register himself as a blacksmith.
"Hey!" A high pitched annoying voice sounded out.
Dang Yang continued to sulk by his lonesome on his desk, thinking if he should head to the cafeteria to get some food.
"H-Hey! Hey! I'm talking to you!!"
'But I only got a handful of federation coins that I got from Uncle Cheng. Uhhh... I'm so hungry...'
"DANG YANG!!"
"Huh?!"
Dang Yang's head shot up, finally acknowledging the annoying voice that's been trying to get his attention.
He turned to see a girl with short black hair and piercing green eyes.
Her name was Xia Yin and she's a friend of his, well, the original.
Dang Yang took moment to recall who she was and his face changed.
"What do you want?" Dang Yang groaned, not in the mood for her bubbly personality.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to join me and some of the others for lunch?" Xia Yin asked, a bright smile on her face.
Dang Yang looked around the classroom to see most of his classmates have already left for lunch, leaving only a few stragglers behind.
He sighed, knowing he couldn't avoid social interaction forever.
He didn't want to become a loner in his second life
"Sure." He replied, standing up and grabbing his bag.
Xia Yin's smile widened as she led the way to the cafeteria, chatting nonstop about her favorite subject—Soul Beasts.
It was extremely fascinating to her, as they were extremely rare to come by and only artificial Soul Spirits were seen common to see nowadays.
Dang Yang could barely keep up with her enthusiasm, but he found himself enjoying her company rather than being annoyed by it.
Maybe, just maybe, this day wasn't the worst after all.
'Ah. I almost forgot because of all that boring meditation. Daily and Weekly Quests!' Dang Yang inwardly said.

Out of sheer stubbornness and determination, he managed to complete his daily quests before he went to school.
He had to wake up early, 3am in the morning, so he could complete it all on time. The original Dang Yang wouldn't have been able to, but as John Cortez who has years of experience of working on unreasonable shifts, it was easy.
But it also made his child body sore, as it wasn't used to doing extensive physical training.
Yes, he did the daily quests yesterday as well.
[Soul Prisms: 100]
Finally, he has something to his system. Although it was just a measly 100 for now, it was enough to buy all the Summoning Tickets in the store!
He was tempted to buy it...ah whatever, what's the harm on buying them now?
[Ding! 5x Summoning Tickets has been recieved into your gift box!]
'Hold. Hold the desire to pull. Just five tickets wouldn't be enough to get me four star servant or craft essence with my shitty luck. I need to gather more.'
Dang Yang then looked at his Weekly Quests, and thought, 'The homeworks and fighting some spirit masters with the two types of Martial Souls I could do easily enough, but finding Spirit Scholars in the elementary department, especially first years, is hard.'
'We're newly awakened after all. So unless someone has a Full Innate Soul Power or I go towards the Intermediate Division, I wouldn't be fighting any Spirit Scholars just yet,' he let out a sigh.
"Well, well. If it ain't the nerd and his little girlfriend." A voice interrupted Dang Yang's train of thought as they entered the cafeteria.
Dang Yang's face twisted in annoyance as he recognized the voice of Kuang Hao, one of the more popular students in their class.
Xia Yin's smile dimmed slightly as she saw the sneer on Kuang Hao's face.
"What do you want, Kuang Hao?" Dang Yang asked, trying to hide the frustration in his voice.
"Just thought I'd come say hello to my little buddies." Kuang Hao replied, smirking as he gestured to his friends who were all standing behind him.
Kuang Hao is a bully of the original Dang Yang, a year older than him, the former had started to bully the latter a year ago when they met at a public park.
The reason for why it started is because Dang Yang was younger than him and that Kuang Hao wanted to show off his newly awakened Martial Soul, Black Steel Fan.
He had awakened with an innate soul power of 7, a pretty high number, which had now rose to 8 after a year of studying in the academy.
His bullying...was pretty mild compared to what he'd gone through in the past.
Shoving, wet willys, wedgies, 'accidentally' tripping him, throwing him water balloons, etc.
'Never thought I'd encounter a bully again.' Dang Yang thought, as he stared at Kaung Hao and his goons looking down at him and Xia Yin in contempt.
"C'mon, Dang Yang. Let's go and ignore this guy." Xia Yin said, pulling onto his white shirt.
Kuang Hao snorted then burst out laughing, "See? What'd I tell you guys? Those two are obviously dating! Hahahaha!"
Xia Yin's face turned red, angrily glaring at him, "Shut up! At least we're together while you just fiddle around with other boys all day."
The onlookers let out 'oohs' and 'hahas' as Kuang Hao and his goons froze before glaring back at Xia Yin.
"Shut up!"
Xia Yin wasn't finished however, as she gasped and made a hand gesture,
"Don't tell me, do you swing that way?"
"Pfft!" Dang Yang snorted, so did many spectators.
"I said SHUT–"
"Also, you might want to work on your insult game. 'Nerd' and 'little girlfriend'? Really? That's all you've got?" Xia Yin cut him off, smirking as she posed her left fist against her hip.
"Hahahahahaha!!" The whole cafeteria erupted into laughter at Kuang Hao and his goon's expense.
'Damn! She's a savage!' Dang Yang inwardly thought, trying to contain his laughter.
Suddenly, Kuang Hao leapt towards Xia Yin in a fury. His right arm pulled back so he could punch her in the face!
"DAMN YOU!"
But before he could even get near her, his right wrist was grabbed and he soon saw everything twisting around and then his face met the cold, hard floor.
"Nope. Not so fast there, buddy." Dang Yang said with a cold expression as he sat on Kuang Hao's back after he took him down.
"Dang Yang!!" Kuang Hao shouted with clear hatred in his eyes, he then turned his head to his crew and said,
"What are you all doing?! Get him!"
"Oh crap, leader!"
"Get him!"
"Get away or we'll mess your face up!!"
The goons of Kuang Hao soon charged towards Dang Yang.
Dang Yang stared at them, then grinned.
'1... 3... 6... Oh yeah, come and become my quest objectives!'
