Chapter 8

Elly Mae's Pov...

"I... I think I l-like you"

"I... I think I l-like you"

'He likes me?' I asked myself. I am now awake and feels okay as if nothing had happened and I don't know why I'm feeling this way. There is a part of me that is happy and there is also a part that prevents me from feeling that way.

"Why did he say that?" I murmured.

I'm sitting on my bed right now. I got home last night around 11 pm. Our driver fetched me, of course not near the hospital. I didn't go to school because my professors heard about what happened so I was excused.

"How will I face him this Monday?" I murmured again.

"Ahhhh" I said as I had think of a way. "I'll just pretend that I didn't hear anything. I hope it wouldn't be awkward"

After I had said that, my phone rang so I had to get it from my bedside table. It was an unknown number.

"H-hello?"

"Is this Elly?" it was Axel's voice.

'why would he call at this late night and how did he get my number?' I asked in my mind.

"Ah. Y-yeah, how did you get my number?" I asked.

"Ah Rane gave it to me yesterday" he answered. "Ughm... Can you do me a favor?"

"I don't think we're that close to do favors for each other" I said

"A-ahh, s-sorry"

"Just kidding. What is it? Willing to help" I said while laughing slightly.

"Y-you scared me " he said. "I... I'm planning to propose to Lane"

"what???!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!"

"Shhhh!" He said.

"For real?" I was so excited. I feel so happy for Lane they deserve each other!

"C-can you help me?"

"Of course!! Anything."

"Can you not tell her about my plan and prevent her from entering the auditorium on Monday before 8 am." He said.

"Okay. No problem. Good luck!!!" I said before he hung up.

Two days passed quickly like a thunder. Just kidding. I arrived at school early so I could help Axel prepare for his proposal. He bought 1000 pieces of red roses. He distributed 100 pieces of rose to 100 students that'll wait for Rane. The rest was petals that was on the pathway and inside the auditorium. I hope he succeeds.

I guess he will because I know for a fact that Lane likes him. She even told me that she's jealous of her sister one time because Rane and Axel had been hanging out without her and that she thinks that they have a relationship.

Minutes have past and Axel was ready. I didn't know that his friends were there because I was focusing on how to help him.

It was 8:10 am when Lane and Rane came. She was greeted by students carrying a rose in their hands. At first she was confused but as she approach the door of the auditorium, she smiled so wide and tears started to fall from her eyes as Axel comes out holding a bouquet of 100 roses. She slowly walked towards him.

"W-what's this?" she stuttered.

Axel knelt down on his left knee and raised the flowers. "Trinsley Lane Hale, Will you be my girlfriend?". his eyes showed his nervousness as his pupils started shaking.

My friends and Axel's friends walked towards me and watched them. We were waiting for Lane's answer when she looked at our direction, smiled and then looked at Axel. "Yes" she answered. We clapped as soon as we heard her answer.

Axel quickly stood and hugged her. "Then don't go to that stupid blind date" he said.

'Blind date? How much did I missed during this four days' I asked myself in my head.

The new couple approached us with a big smile. "Congrats" Hero said as he tapped Axel's shoulder.

"Thanks. " he put his arms around Lane's waist. "Let's eat, my treat."

We sat on our previous table and the boys ordered for us. I took this chance to ask about the blind date they were talking about. "Are you having a blind date?" I asked Lane.

She smiled. "Rane and I were supposed to be on a blind date later in the afternoon but I don't think I will" then she looked at the boys who were carrying our food. "I need to hurry and find someone to replace me" then she looked at Yvonne.

"Not me, I love someone else and you know that already" she defensively said then the boys came to our table. "Why don't you ask Mae? She seemed interested"

"Interested about what?" Hero Interjected.

"Blind date" Rane answered and smiled at him making him look so annoyed.

'Jealous? Cute!... Wait what??!!' I was surprised about what I was thinking.

"Someone looks jealous" Rane whispered and looked at me and smiled .

'Tssssss...'

"Okay" I said and they seemed surprised.

"Okay what?" Trever asked and his tone shows his annoyance.

'What's wrong with these people?'

"I'll go with Rane later"

"What??!!" I was startled by Trever and Hero's reaction. They even stood up.

"What's so shocking about that?" I asked and took a bite of my burger.

They looked at each other then looked at me. I just frowned at them and they slowly sat down.

Axel cleared his throat and said, "love triangle"

Half of the day quickly passed and we have no classes this afternoon so Rane asked me if I could accompany her to go shopping and I agreed so I could also buy clothes for the blind date.

I should go on a date to forget about Chad. To have time and erase my feelings for him. I should enjoy my time being single. Go on a blind date, hang out with friends and study more. This time I don't have to worry about him anymore.

"I think you should wear this" Rane asked while organizing the clothes she picked for me. It was a long sleeve korean style blouse and a gray pleated skirt that's above the knees.

I scratched my nape, "I don't think I can wear this" . I really am not confident in wearing short things.

"Of course you can, you just have to be confident" she said. "You're beautiful, besides your style is not famous anymore"

I looked at myself at a mirror. She's right. Nobody wears long skirts that makes their skin more covered.

"Maybe you're right" I agreed to her with matching nod. "Miss? I'll get these "

"Me too, I'll get these" she said while holding sleeveless fitted dress.

After paying for those, we changed into what we bought and placed our previous clothes in the paper bag. After changing we went to the location of the date and we didn't expect it to be in a bar.

"Are you sure this is the right place?" I asked Rane.

She nodded. "But this is an inappropriate place for a blind date"

"You're right." I agreed. "Let's just go outside and not meet them. We can explain it to them"

"Okay, let's go" she wrapped her arms around my right arm.

We were supposed to get out of that place but we were blocked by two guys. "Where are you going, beautiful ladies?"

Their voice are terrifying that we didn't dare to look at them and kept on stepping back.

"N-none of your business." —Rane.

"We're your date! Of course it's our business" the guy in the right said.

Rane and I looked into each other with our nervous eyes.

"W-we'll leave first" I said and tried to walk away with Rane but the other guy aggressively pulled me back.

"We're not yet done talking!" they shouted that we shut our eyes.

When I opened my eyes, the two guys were laying down the floor and saw Roland, Hero and Trever standing beside them.

"What are you doing here?" Rane asked. Roland looked at her and frowned before he gave her his jacket.

"Cover up will you?" he annoyingly said.

"We came for you" Hero said and my heart started to race so fast again! I patted my chest to keep me calm.

'Hey heart! Stop betraying me again!!!'
