Chapter 15

Cedrick's POV...

'So he's really serious about courting her?' I asked myself in my mind.

I can say that he's happy about his decision. I mean, he keeps smiling for an unknown reason as if he's possessed or something.

For Trever, I can see the sadness in his eyes. He seemed like he was devastated though nothing really happened. The way he looks at Hero is different from before. He looks at him with gloomy eyes that weren't there before Elly came.

Is it possible that Trever also likes her?

How can I say that? That's because he's been too distant to Hero especially when Elly's around. He doesn't talk to him like he used to before. He became more quiet than usual. In the end, I can say that he's not the Trever I knew.

And me? I'm here sitting on our couch watching TV and thinking of what I should wear at our dinner with Yvonne's family later.

The truth must be told. I'm kinda excited of about how our dinner would go. Besides we would be talking about my birthday celebration this Saturday. For sure, Yvonne would give me a surprise again.

The truth is everything she gives me is special and I also see her as a special person. The only reason I'm pushing her away was that I don't want her to be used. I don't want her to get hurt when she learns the truth. But the more I push her away, the more reasons she needs to stay.

Why is she a special person? That's because she is the only one who knows me the best. The only person who understands and makes sure that I'm not alone. Even though someday I know she's gonna leave me, I would still want her but not under these circumstances.

"Ya," I called Hero's attention and he stopped smiling.

"What?" he asked.

"Where did you buy fresh flowers?"

"Why?" he asked and the teasing smile came out from his lips, "Are you going to give it to Yvonne?"

"N- no! Silly" I stuttered as I look away from him, " Just tell me the place"

"Okay, Okay!" he said then I looked at him again and he told me the place.

After a couple of minutes, I saw Trever stand up and go out of our place. At first, I was confused because he didn't tell me what his plan was.

You're maybe asking why Roland and Axel are not here. Well, that's because they're hanging out with Rane and Lane.

I could tell that Roland likes Rane because he's too obvious, though maybe she can't see it.

That Night.....

"You're going to the dinner, right?" my dad asked with his usual cold voice.

"Of course, I would," I replied without looking at him.

"Look at me when you're talking to me, son." HE emphasized the last word he said.

"Son, huh?" I asked with a smirk, "You only call me like that when we talk about Yvonne and his family. Come on dad, I know your intentions about this marriage."

"Ahh, is that so?" He took a step toward me. "If you know it already, then just shut up!"

"You really are unbelievable," I whispered the moment he walked out of my room.

I showered for less than thirty minutes. After that, I wore my black suit and pants. I also wore a pair of black polished shoes. I wore a bit of my luxury perfume that came from my step-brother.

After a couple of minutes of scrolling on my phone, I decided to go to the garage and wait in the van. I sat beside the driver's seat so no one would seat beside me except our driver.

I didn't wait that long because they went inside the car five minutes after I did. They were surprised to see me when got in but didn't bother to ask me. I don't even care about what they think of me. It's much better if I don't talk to them. My mind is at peace, especially when they're not around.

We arrived at the restaurant faster than I thought. It only took 45 minutes. They were already waiting for us when we arrived so I got greeted by Yvonne with her usual sweet smile.

She looks gorgeous with what she's wearing. She's wearing a simple white dress paired with cream-colored shoes. She's also wearing light make-up.

My dad cleared his throat when we sat down, giving me a clue on what I should do.

"You, you look beautiful tonight," I complimented Yvonne with a smile.

I could see how her cheeks slightly turn red.

"T- thank you," She said.

That's her. She can easily show her feelings without even doing anything and I like that about her.

Our dinner began and the adults talked about business and of course, our engagement. I wasn't really listening about what they're saying. I was just eating as if I'm alone.

After eating, my dad told me to go with Yvonne to the garden. I had to comply so he wouldn't get embarrassed. While walking around, someone approached Yvonne. A man.

"Hi!" He greeted her with a smile.

"Oh, Hi!" she greeted back, "What are you doing here?"

"I had a family dinner," he answered.

"I think she meant here in the garden," - me

They both looked at me.

"I was just passing by when I saw her," he pointed at Yvonne.

"So?" I crossed my arms, "is it really necessary to talk to her when you see her?"

"Hey!" Yvonne whispered to me.

"Well, I find it necessary because I like her," he answered, "Who are you anyway?"

"Me?" I pulled Yvonne's waist and she was shocked by that. "Her fiance'"

"And?" he also crossed his arms

"What do you mean 'And?'?" I asked while my forehead creased.

"Excuse me?" We both stopped staring at each other when Yvonne spoke up. "I think you should go, Aaron."

'So his name is Aaron' I said to myself in my mind.

"Your family dinner is still going on, right?" still Yvonne, "We still have to go to our parents, so we'll just see you in school."

"Okay, enjoy your dinner" that Aaron guy said before walking away.

Yvonne cleared her throat so my attention got caught. I realized that I still haven't let go of her so I immediately let go of her.

"What was that?" she asked so I looked away.

"W- What do you mean?" I don't even know why I stuttered.

"Nevermind," then she walked away.

"Hey! Wait up!"
