Lazarus, Lazarus, we must hurry. The towns head is arriving today and everyone is expected to be here, so wake up.
The unknown man kept screaming in James ears as the bed he slept shook for some unknown reason before he finally opened his eyes.
The room he slept in was decorated in an ancient manner. With wooden walls and floor, even the bed he slept in was made of wood and cloth, which be found strange.
He tried to stand but he couldn't move. Have I gone cripple? he asked himself as he studied the room quizzingly. He saw am unknown man trying to wake him up but what he found more strange was that he was already awake staring at this unknown man and before he knew what was happening he stood up and started talking.
Always so jumpy Francis, the new town head hasn't even woken up so why should we. Rest a little bit because I have something's to do before the ceremony starts, so see you at noon, Lazarus told his friend with a sly smile on his sleepy face.
Lazarus always so gusty, better be there at noon, we wouldn't want the new town head to hold a grudge on you. This is a small town Lazarus things happened, Francis said to his friend as he shook his head in disapproval but his friend was already long gone.
Lazarus didn't bother to answer him as he went to the backyard, washed his face and mouth before went on his way.
James finally understood his situation. He was reliving one of his past lives and from the looks of the era and time it was the life of the first who was cursed.
Lazarus walked down the streets of Cairo as he smiled at everybody and anyone who walked past him. Though he was a foreigner the Egyptian took him as there own and slowly he started to behave like them.
On his way he picked a freshly plucked apple and tossed the seller a coin. As he chew on the apple the juice danced in his tongue down to his throat to easy the sourness.
Lazarus, Lazarus, he heard his name at every corner he passed as he was well know along this part of Cairo.
He was walking his way through the familiar streets to his particular joints where he enjoyed the solitude when he saw a suspicious person rapped in red cape walking in a hurried manner. He looked at the person quizzingly before be couldn't hold it in anymore and followed the cape.
They walked and walked and slowly it was close to noon but he didn't stop. He walked at a steady pace following the cape from afar not knowing that the person hidden in the red cape knew she was being followed so she lured him out to quite place.
As he continued to walk in a steady pace he lost sight of the cape and he couldn't help himself as he ran toward the direction but saw nothing. The air around him changed like a sweet scent of roses filled the woods luring him into the darkness of the woods and he followed the scent like a lost sheep.
Soon the scent stopped and he saw the red cape but this time the cape was let down and a black long silky hair came into his vision. Slowly the girl turned around and what he saw change his life.
Her eyes where purple in color, light as the eyes of a cat and her skin paler than the dead but somehow remained its glow, her black her cascaded down her back as she stared at him.
Her eyes held innocence that he never knew could exist and her face looked like that of an angel. It held innocence, seduction and so many words he never knew could exist.
She walked closer to him while his heart pounded in his ribcage as she grew closer, even the present Lazarus inside the body couldn't think straight when her sweet scent grew closer. She walked past him and before he knew it a blade was brought to his neck with shaky hands.
One look at her hands you would know she wasn't experienced in the act of killing or assassination.
Why are you following? She asked out of breathe like she was afraid of him. Her accent was different from the rest and he pondered where he had heard it before.
Sorry mam, I did not mean to startle you. You looked quite peculiar and my curiosity got the better of me, he told her as he dropped his head in shame but the girl had other plans, as she started to sniff him which made his lower half react proudly as she sniffed his neck like a puppy looked for its owner approval, the thought alone made his whole body react to this unknown girl with a soothing scent on her.
You smell strange, you aren't from here and by the looks of it you aren't lying either she retreated her head as she once again stood in front of his staring at him as she held her blade in her hands for security over this unknown man. Though he smelled okay she didn't want to take her chances.
Lazarus was lost in a haze as he stared at her eyes which shone more brightly than it should have.
What's wrong with your eyes? he asked the girl and like a flash of lightening she realized that she forgot about something. She touched her eyes and it was like a bucket of cold water was poured on her as she looked at this unknown man with eyes wide open in fear.
I....I...don't know why my...my eyes are like that....I.. I didn't even noticed they change colors it must be the light. Some...some time its happens, she stuttered all the way as she held her blade closely to her in case she need to use her last resort.
Hey calm down and you can put your knife down I wouldn't hurt you. He tried to smother her but from the looks of it she looked like she would pounce on him in the manner of seconds.
Hey calm down he raise his hand, I wouldn't hurt you I just asked because your eyes looked strange but you don't have to share. Am sorry, he apologized to her as he raised his hands.
You do not know what I am? She asked him quizzingly because she had never seen nor heard of anyone who didn't recognise her as a shadow witch but this peculiar man with silver hair looked sincere and he even smelt sincere, so she slowly lowered her blade.
I know what you are, he told her innocently, but that seemed to spike her anxiety as she raised her blade again.
You are a young girl with purple eyes, you look like a foreigner, so I am not surprised about your looks as you can see, even I am strange in my own way he raised his hands higher touching his hair in the process showing her that his hair color was abnormal. So please lower you blade he begged her and finally she lowered her blade putting it in her pouch.
Please sir, I beg of you don't tell anyone about my eyes, she quietly begged him as she looked for a route to flee from.
I will do as you say if you agree to meet me again tomorrow at this spot he stared at the unknown girl who looked like she would disappear any moment from now. He needed to see her again, he didn't know why but he had to see her again.
The girl looked at him, it was risky to see him again but he did say he would keep her secret so she nodded her head in approval before she ran into the wooded like a deer running from a predator.
He stared at the retreating figure of the girl as she ran before he finally got himself and looked at the clouds and saw it was almost noon so he ran to the town square where the towns head stood like a proud horse as he addressed the crowd.
Slowly he snicked his way through the crowd towards his friend who was looking at the crowd in search of him.
Francis, am here what did I miss he whispered to his friend who only glared at him accusingly. Where have you been Lazarus? do you know how much trouble you would have put yourself in if the names had been called? Francis whispers yell and all Lazarus could do was smile as she thought of the girl in the red cape.
