Chapter 65

When I got home, I was relieved that they didn't bombard me with questions about my whereabouts. Zaiden had already filled them in, which saved me from having to explain. They seemed surprised to see me back so soon because Zaiden had told them I would be gone for a week. I wasn't sure what excuse Zaiden had given to Mama, but since they didn't press for more information, I decided to let it be.

"When are you going back to Pampanga, Laurene?" Mama asked while feeding Cole in the living room. I was preparing milk for both of them. Serina had gone home to her parents, so I was in charge of the kids.

"Tomorrow, Ma. I'm attending the intramurals. It's the last day."

"Then, take the kids to the mall later so they can enjoy their stay here. Buy new toys for Cole; he seems to want that transforming car." I glanced at Cole playing with the toys he brought.

"Okay, Ma. We'll go. I need to buy something, too." I replied and approached them.
