Chapter 2. Blessing of Dragon General

The earth dragon's attack was enormous. He can manipulate the ground to deliver extremely fast rock thrust attacks. I being careless and got almost all the creatures I summoned killed. Only the Earth Wyverns and Wyvernkids remained, while the others were wiped out with just one attack.

Wyvernkid immediately pulled me up and minimized the damage I took. From what I saw, my HP only decreased by 20% of my total HP even though the attack just scratched my leg.

Meanwhile Solem dodged all of the attacks with minimal movement as if he knew the dragon's attack pattern. Should I say it's as expected from a beta-tester? Knowing his nature, he must have repeated this quest several times in the beta-test and memorized the attack pattern.

"I'll hit it with a big attack! Quadruplet Magic: Magic Arrow!!"

Five seconds after Solem cast the magic, four magic arrows appeared in the surroundings and attacked the earth dragon. Normally he could only cast one but the use of Quadraplet Magic brought his total magic to four. Although, that number was completely unable to scratch the skin of the ground dragon we were fighting.

I checked the dragon's HP, but the dragon only lost two percent of its total HP,

If so, there will be no end. We should do something to reduce his HP faster, I thought.

"I thought it would be impossible. Earth Dragon has a greater VIT and MTL than other dragons of the same level." Solem said.

The dragon used magic to create a stone spear and shot it towards Solem. Solem dodged it like he dodged the sharp stone attack earlier. It seemed even easier since he could see the origin of the attack.

"Stop babbling and think about how we can beat him!" I exclaimed.

A burst of flames was emitted by the dragon towards Solem, but Solem was able to dodge it easily. He was so skilled at dodging attacks that people would think he was using cheats, even though he only took into account A.I. movements. Despite the fact that he could account for the A.I. can still be considered a cheat.

"About that... Drag, try bringing the wyvernkid and earth wyvern to his head!"

"You want us to get all of his attacks!?"

"Trust me! I have a plan!"

He said he had a plan, but what he told me to do was the equivalent of telling me to kill myself. But...

"Wow!"

...I will believe in this friend of mine.

I boarded the earth wyvern and ordered it and the wyvernkid to approach the giant dragon. Even though we might be hit by a direct hit, but if Solem did have a plan then that would be the best option!

"!!"

I don't know why but when I got to the dragon's head, it immediately turned around as if it didn't want to look at me. Come to think of it, his attacks never aimed at either my wyvernkid or earth wyvern. Was it because wyvernkids and earth wyverns were excluded from attack targets in its A.I. algorithm? In that case...

"I see! You want to switch roles, right?" I said to Solem.

"It's good that you understand quickly." replied Solem.

Next round, we swap roles. I'm acting as a distraction while Solem was about to attack. That proved to be a good strategy as the dragon's HP had already lost a bar and only had one more bar left in an hour.

It was then that the ground dragon's attack algorithm changed. When his HP Bar is still two, he uses projectile attacks more often than wide-area attacks but when his HP bar is only one attack, he uses wide-area attacks more often. Even though I tried to distract it from me, the dragon still tried to attack Solem. Now it becomes a battle of who gives up first-

"That's enough. I give up."

"!!" x2

Unexpectedly, the dragon was the first to stop and give up than the two of us.

"Y-you give up?" asked Solem.

Look, even Solem surprised by that!

"That's right. I still love my life. Fighting any longer with you guys and I'll lose my neck."

I'm actually not sure about that. During our nearly two hours of fighting, we had already used up about ninety percent of our potions' HP. His HP still remained at twenty percent, in other words with an easy calculation the outcome of this battle was either we lost or we won narrowly.

"...this is different from the beta..." Solem muttered.

The dragon lowered its head and relaxed its muscles. He really didn't look like had any more fighting intentions.

"If you want to get black silver, you can find it in the treasure room."

I approached Solem and asked him in a small voice.

"How?" I asked.

"It's different from the beta, but I also don't have a need to beat him... also if it continues, we'll likely lose... okay, let's just accept it."

I nodded at Solem's decision.

"Alright, then we'll take some for our needs." Solem said.

"..."

The dragon didn't answer, but Solem was already walking towards the large gate behind the dragon that seemed to lead to the dungeon's treasure room. I followed behind him, but after only a few steps I stopped thinking of something.

The dragon was constantly down here, only surrounded by monsters that couldn't even enter the room. It's just the AI, is what makes me able to silence this thought but after hearing what he's doing it's really not like an NPC but really like something alive. The highest level of realistic level huh… it really bothers me.

"Um..."

That's why I ventured to ask the dragon.

"...aren't you bored to be here?" I asked.

The dragon did not answer immediately but remained silent for five seconds. Only then did it answer my question, not with a statement but with another question.

"Are humans imprisoned for hundreds of years not bored?"

Even though it's another question, I understand what the meaning behind the question is. Humans don't have a lifespan of hundreds of years, but just five years in prison would make one sick let alone a hundred years. That's how it feels, that's maube why I want to help it.

"Then how about entering into a contract with me?" I asked.

"!! You... are you sane, human?"

"I'm perfectly sane!"

We then exchanged glances for a few tens of seconds.

"...Even if I made a contract with you, the current you won't be able to summon me."

The amount of MP used to summon monsters differs depending on the summoned monster. That's why the MP used to summon the wyvernkid is much smaller than the others so I can summon it longer. The MP required to summon this huge dragon like the dragon in front of me definitely exceeds the amount of MP I have now.

"Then I will increase my MP! I will definitely summon you out of this dungeon one day!"

Why am I like this? It's just a mob I should have beaten, but why would I even offer something like this? Ah, that's right… I… I just don't want to see a good person like this dragon imprisoned in a place where no one else is like in this place.

"Hm. Fine then."

The dragon moved its head towards me. I reached out my hand and held his forehead which was between his big eyes.

"[Contract]!"

I say the name of the skill to activate it. A light effect shoots out of my hand, indicating the skill is active. A moment later the light disappeared and a new skill alert appeared before my eyes. Not just one but three skills at once.

Through the contract with the Earth Dragon General, the Earth Dragon General Blessing skill and the Earth Dragon General Curse skill were added.

I didn't check the summon skill because i already know the contents. I checked the other two skills that sounded so chuuni.

"Umm..."

Simply put, Blessing gave me additional MP and reduced MP for summon skills while Curse gave me reduced physical damage in exchange for reduced magic attack power. Seeing those skills, I've made up my mind. I will make a full build to the amount of MP to maximize the number and timing of my summon skills.

The moment I made up my mind, my body suddenly gave off a bluish glow.

"This...?"

A moment later, I found myself outside the dungeon with Solem in front of me.

"Forced transfer after subjugation huh. We can't enter this dungeon again for a week." Solem explained.

"Eh? We can't go in anymore?"

"Yup. To make all dungeons touchable, it's a system created by developers.

"Such a system exists, doesn't it? Haah... never mind."

I lay down on the ground suffering from mental exhaustion. How many hours have we been fighting inside? I was surprised myself that I could concentrate that long.

"I'll be logging out now. I don't want to be late tomorrow."

"Okay."

I manipulated the windows and pulled out a menu to logout from that world. But before that I need to say something to Solem.

"By the way, you remember that we have a presentation tomorrow so don't play too long." I spoke.

"Yeah yeah. You're starting sounds like my mother."

"I said that for the sake of the office, okay?!"

With a bit of annoyance, I pressed the logout button. Since I logged out, I didn't hear the last sentence Solem said.

"I've had enough preparation for that."
