Chapter 6

Scarlett 's POV

6 years later

"Mom, you promised to teach us how to throw thieves" Aiden complained as my three devil spawns marched into my office.

I swear I honestly don't know how I survived raising those three for the past six years. I love them and there is no doubt that I love them with everything that I have. In fact they are the reason that I live. But then there are times that they make me want to pull my hair out in frustration and this just happens to be one of those times.

For three days now they have been pestering me to teach them how to throw thieves ever since they found out that their Uncle Davin's favorite hobby is knife throwing.

Well you are confused as to what is going on right?

Then let me explain, six years ago on September 4th 2018, I welcomed my three sons into my life. Raising three boys as a single mom is so far the greatest challenge I have faced in life but then with my family and friends everything was alright. There were nights that Rain and I had to take turns holding those three because as it turns out they never liked being left alone.

As they grew older, I noticed that those three never behaved like normal kids. They could already speak and pronounce words perfectly when they were about a year and half. It took normal kids two years to start pronouncing simple words. But by two years these three had already aced most of their kindergarten subjects in school that they were on par with six year olds.

I got worried and took them to see a pediatric neurologist who run some tests before diagnosing them with Antisocial personality disorder. Now believe me , my heart broke when I heard that they took had inherited their father's condition and that comprehending some human emotions were going to be difficult for them.

But then I remembered that both their father and his brother did it meaning my babies too can do it. The doctor advised that we showed them the importance of family love and that they would soon start therapy once they were old enough.

Well, the up side to their condition is that this three are basically child prodigies and have already mastered a lot academically and otherwise.

They are the best hackers second only to the famous Duo the two best hackers in the world. When it comes to poisons and weapons don't even get me started .

Dad crowned then as the heirs to his mafia gang when they were four. They engage in a variety of activities out of boredom, I tell you. I participated in a piano class giving their all all and after the learned to play the piano and we're on par with famous pianist in just ten days, they told me they were bored, so they moved on to find their next interesting hobby. Don't even get me started on their academics. They are currently on par with 15 year olds. I mean how is all this possible.

Oh and did I tell you that this children are the best manipulators one can think of and yes everyone loves them to bits. It's like I fail to exist the moment you lay eyes on them. One can't blame them though. They are after all their father's children.

I can already see them breaking hearts in the future

"Where is mom" I asked them . Mom was the one who picked them up from school. I am wondering why she didn't come up with them

" She went to get us some ice cream. She should be joining us soon" Aiden again answered as all three came forward to hug me.

"I am busy trying to handle the marketing report for the hotels this month. I can't teach you now. Besides you need rest. You just got back from school " I explained as I leaned back on my seat in exhaustion.

"Let me see that" Adrian remarked as he took the file from my hands. Ashton sat on my laps while both his brothers sat on my desk . Oh did I tell you Adrian and Ashton are more of mommies boys. Aiden kinda is a daddy's boy but as always his mom is always right. The kind of love these three have for me actually scares me sometimes. it's so fierce and protective that I sometimes pity their future wives.

"The sales have actually improved since we launched the new kids corner in the hotels. Most of our clients can now confidently find a playing sport for their kids and this has increased our sales. Though I recommend you fire whoever typed this document because he made a calculation error here" Adrian explained as he pointed out the said error to me.

Oh did I mention that these three are perfectionists. I mean they can detect even punctuation marks and slight errors in works.

They always advise that I fire my staff for such little mistakes. My gosh, their habit can be annoying sometimes especially when they use it against me.

"Thanks Baby, what will I do without you three" I exclaimed as I ruffled both Adrian and Aiden's hair while Ashton snuggled closer to me.

"Not the hair" they both muttered in unison making me laugh.

"Bitch, I have got news for you" Rain announced as she rushed into my office with a big smile on her face .

" No swearing in front of the kids " I reprimanded her.

"My babies, when did you close from school . Why didn't you call your god mom to come get you."

Rain dramatically exclaimed as they all ran to hug her

"GOD-MOM" they screamed as they hugged her.

" When did you get back ? Did you buy us any gifts ?Oh my God please tell me you're not going on another mission " All three fired questions at her.

"I got back about two hours ago. Your mom came to pick me from the airport. And yes no more missions for the next four months " she explained

"And how could I forget to bring gifts for my favorite sons" she added with a wink

"we are your only sons Mommy " Ashton replied in a duh tone accompanied with an eye roll. Yes, they call her Mommy . Is that a shocker.

I swear Rain likes parading these rascals as her own. She is part of the reason if not the main reason that they are so dubious. She likes playing criminal master mind with them.

" What was so important that you had to rupture my eardrums". I asked

" Guess what "she asked in excitement.

"You finally found your manners. Well congratulations, I thought you were beyond saving" I sarcastically answered as she sat down on the couch surrounded by her grandsons

The scene in front of me just caused my heart to melt . Seeing them all together is every mother's joy.

"You wish" she laughed

"Spit it out already . I was never known to be a patient person " I snapped

" So remember Johnson's annual charity Gala right"

How could I forget. It was at the same annual charity gala that I lost my virginity and got pregnant six years ago.

" Well My spies have reported that Delvin will make his first ever appearance in six years tonight "

"I just wanted to inform you"

" Really " I croaked out in a voice which I barely recognized as my own.

" That sounds great " The boys exclaimed .

"Dad can finally come visit us" Aiden remarked.

How did they find out who their father was. Well that happened about two years ago when they came back from school sad because other kids were calling them father less. They shut themselves up in their room for the whole evening and when they came out they showed me a picture of Delvin and Darvin asking me to pinpoint their father .

At that point I was beyond shocked but I knew they needed to know who their biological father was.

I mean all you had to do was to look at them and then at Delvin and Darvin. You will know that they were definitely offspring to one of them . I mean the kids were carbon copies of their father who also shares the same features with his identical twin.

I told them that Dalvin was their father and when they asked

'Why he wasn't with us'

The story I told them was that their father had business to attend in Russia and he did not keep in touch with them because his enemies might find out about them and hurt them. I told them that he promised that he would make it for new year meaning I had four months to tell Delvin the truth.

I finally realized that hiding the existence of his children was not the best decision I ever took

The story did not sit well with Adrian and Ashton but then Aiden seemed to buy it.

From then on he has been asking about his father. When is Dad coming home, When will dad do this. What does dad like? Honestly I had gotten tired of giving them excuses. I never knew that the absence of their biological father would hit them so much. I thought Dad and Ashton my other best friend could fill that void but I guess I was wrong.

And this point in time I did not know how to handle this particular piece of information. Yes I was planning to inform him about the kids before the year runs out. I mean I am just that selfish. I don't want to share my kids love with him but then I know it's the right thing to do. He deserves to know

I am not ready to meet him yet. For the past six years our rivalry has kinda gone cold. Yes we still protect each other from external attacks but then our internal attacks on each other has significantly seized. Over the past years, our attacks were more verbal and teasing rather than physical and harmful.

In these six years , Delvin never came to the states, Davin was the only who visited and over time we both kinda settled our differences and now he is part of my best friends. I always feel guilty for not telling him about his nephews though.

Did Delvin perhaps find about them or what. His sudden visit has got me scared. I need to speak to him tonight, the first time we will be meeting in person after that night.

I hope everything goes well.

I thought as I turned by attention back to Rain and they kids who were busily discussing what dress I should wear to the gala tonight.
