Inter High Preliminaries Finals Part 2

At center court Hideki and the boys were shaking hands with the Kirisaki Daiichi players, Hideki had the disgust in his face when he shook one particular player's hand, Hanamiya Makoto. "Oh fuck so that's why your team's good, you're fucking here." Makoto just chuckled and said "Hehe. Why the foul mouth, Oh Benevolent and Gracious Uncronwed King of ours?" Hideki tightened his handgrip and said "Do something and you'll see" Makoto just told him "Don't worry I won't play in this game as the coach didn't want me to" Hideki said "Best coach"

As they got out of the handshake, Makoto just chuckled.

Before the tip-off, Hideki saw that Kirisaki Daiichi's Center is almost at the same height as Teppei and he saw for an opportunity for his plan so he told Teppei "Teppei, let me do the jump ball, let's execute it at the first bucket, I'll be with you after the jump ball. Hyuga, Mitobe or Izuki, if you guys got the ball, pass it to Teppei to score down low. I've got spicy chicken wings for them." The three starters were confused and nodded with a still confused face.

At the tip-off, Hideki outjumped and outreached the Kirisaki Daiichi Center and quickly tapped the ball to Teppei who's in front of him who quickly ran as Hideki shouted "Rush A!" As Hideki landed, he quickly ran to the court and saw the Teppei was now jumping for a layup and Hideki boxed out his man so he's in front and said "I'm in position", as the Kirisaki Daiichi Power Forward covered Teppei he suddenly gripped the ball and suddenly did a behind the back pass to where Hideki was and as Hideki got the ball he quickly rose up for a one handed dunk, which was unhindered, and got the first two points for Seirin.

As Hideki got down after that dunk he and Teppei high-fived energetically and he shouted "Yeah!" then he ran back to the other court and told Izuki, "If we can't generate offense, give the ball to Teppei, if you can't I'll help you get open for a pass. We'll do that on most possessions" Izuki nodded.

Kirisaki Daiichi got the ball and was rattled as this was not part of their data against Seirin, but their captain (not Makoto Hanamiya) told them, "It's fine, let's get back another possession back!" The Kirisaki Daiichi players nodded.

And one thing you may notice is that Makoto Hanamiya is indeed not in the game, even though he is their best player on their roster by a mile. Perhaps what he said was true and that their coach had problems with Makoto's attitude. This would mean a more easier match for Hideki and the boys.

At Kirisaki Daiichi's offence, they tried to let their Senior Small Forward, their second best player after Makoto, score on iso but unfortunately for him, Hideki is on him and Hideki's giving him a hard time and was successful in stripping the ball off him and ran to the other court for a fast break and he was quickly covered by the Point Guard and Shooting Guard, he did a euro step to the side and was going for a fade away jumper, but he saw Teppei and repaid the favor and passed the ball back to Teppei in an alley-oop which Teppei converted.

Kirisaki Daiichi, didn't give up and instead tried to score the ball not through their Small Forward and discovered that Izuki's size was Seirin's weak link so either they let their Shooting Guard shoot over Izuki or their Small Forward can score against Izuki on an iso play.

The First Quarter ended with the score at 21 to 15.

At the quarter break, Hideki and Teppei high fived again and told the team, "Let's incorporate this as a last result guys. Let Teppei cook and be ready for any dishes he will serve you" Riko heard this and facepalmed herself and told the team, "Please don't make them hungry Hideki. But nonetheless, nice first quarter! Let's keep the pace up and we just have to defend better so we can outscore them."

Hideki nodded at this and added a comment before the second quarter starts "Okay guys, let's do a box-and-one, I'll handle their Small Forward, I'll chase him even if they set screens, I can navigate the screens, I'll tell you when you go over or under so we don't accidentally bump into each other."

Everbody nodded and the buzzer for the second quarter sounded and Hideki was looking at the Kirisaki Daiichi bench and saw that Makoto is still not entering, Makoto saw Hideki looking at him and showed a devious smile. Hideki gripped his fist too hard and Benjie saw him and tapped his shoulder and told him "Don't worry about that buddy, he won't hurt you, he's not in the game." Hideki just told him "Yeah I know, I just can't get this bad feeling out that something bad's gonna happen."

In the second quarter, Seirin continued to slowly but surely outscore Kirisaki Daiichi and Hideki was displaying his spectacular defense against their Small Forward, effectively shutting him down, he stripped, he blocked and basically he didn't let him score. Even with screens he navigated all screens like a thread to a needle so Kirisaki Daiichi go to their plan B and let everybody else score, not the Small Forward, they wouldn't make it here otherwise if their Small Forward couldn't score.

Another display of Teppei's basketball IQ was that he did a low post move and turned around and jumped for a close shot and the Kirisaki Daiichi Center tried to block from behind and Teppei instead passed the ball, after a second in mid-air, to Hyuga who shot the ball from the corner three spot for his fifth triple of the game.

One of the Kirisaki Daiichi players said "Shit, it feels like there are two or three point guards, both inside and out, this is different from what we saw during film session!" One of them thought, 'Yeah, with this, it'll be impossible to beat them!'

The game continued this way until the fourth quarter when the game was said and done.

At the fourth quarter, the score was now at 71 to 86 with 1 minute remaining. At the next dead ball there was a substitution. The Point Guard subbing out for Makoto Hanamiya. As Makoto was inserted into the game, he said to himself "What the heck is this score, we pretty much lost this now." He sighed and said "That's why I said to send me out earlier and quickly instead." Then he smirked and said "Well, it's boring if we just rolled over and let them win. So I'll get the compensation at least."

Now the score guaranteed that they will win, the Seirin boys were pretty much excited that they are now celebrating in the court every time somebody makes a shot, and the ones who played basketball previously were thinking to themselves that they're lucky that Hideki and Teppei were in the team and Hyuga is also there to assist in scoring.

Before the game progressed, Hideki saw who's coming in and told the team "Guys change of plans, we'll do a box and one and I'll handle that guy. He's bad news" Hyuga asked "Who's he and why's he coming out too late?" Hideki shrugged "Who knows" still it didn't answer his question and Izuki said "I'm pretty sure he's one of the Uncrowned Kings like Hideki and Teppei, so he's at the same level as Kiyoshi. But let's just be careful, I've never heard any good rumours about him."

The ref's whistle blew and Makoto got the ball and he got a screen and after going to where the screen was, he quickly bounced pass to a player near the basket and scored the 2 points. Hideki and Teppei were thinking the same thing 'That was just a plain move, why am I worried so much. At this rate, we'll win even if he's here'

At offense Izuki got the ball and did their usual Run & Gun style and Hideki was the last recipient of the fast passing of the ball and jumped for a jump shot, with Makoto in front of him. However due to his unusual nerves gone haywire, his shot was just short, he knew he missed the shot and quickly shouted "It's a miss, rebound!"

Good thing Kiyoshi got in position already for a rebound but what everybody didn't know that what Hideki felt earlier came true, he heard Makoto snapping his fingers near Hideki's ear, which was a signal for his teammate.

Kiyoshi was in position for a rebound and safely got it, with his defender jumping behind him trying to get the ball, but as Kiyoshi landed his defender landed on his back and his foot landed and hit Kiyoshi on his left knee, the knee that Hideki saw that Kiyoshi was favoring earlier.

As Kiyoshi landed, the referee blew the whistle for the Kirisaki Daiichi player who was in the wrong for the loose ball foul, everybody was saying 'Good Job' to Kiyoshi and as they got near they heard Kiyoshi screamed in pain and agony, it seemed that the foul was intentional and hurt his knee.

As that happened, Benjie quickly shouted to the team on the court "Guys, quickly grab Hideki out!" The boys in the court were confused but Hyuga was almost quick to get to Hideki but then…

Seconds earlier

Makoto Hanamiya was looking at the scene with a hand above his eyes and said "Oh, what happened? I hope Kiyoshi's okay~" Hideki heard this, snapped and quickly turned around, balled his fist and sucker punched Makoto hard and threw another punch after Makoto fell. As Makoto fell and Hyuga was quick to the scene as he quickly grabbed Hideki who shouted "What the hell are you saying you piece of shit, that was intentional, the rebound timing was off by a second! And you blatantly snapped your fingers in my ears like a fucking signal!"

Hyuga and Izuki were calming Hideki and said "Hey Hideki! Stop!" Makoto stood up with a hand on his face rubbing the spot where Hideki punched him and said "So you're saying I'm a liar? Where's the proof, Oh Great King of Kings?" Hideki snapped and almost got out of Hyuga and Izuki's hold, but he heard Teppei said "Hideki! Stop!" Hideki did stop at that and Teppei said "It's nothing serious, so please don't do more damage, I'll be back soon." As soon as he said that, he was carried out by a stretcher.

Back in the game, the referee blew his whistle signaled an 'intentional foul' signal on Hideki and shouted "White Player #4, Flagrant Foul 2!" This meant that Hideki was thrown out of the game and not just sit on the bench, he has to go out to the changing room. Hideki snapped his head towards the official who called it and decided it was not the best to argue, so he quietly left the court, and told Riko who was on the verge of tears, "I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry I decked him out." After that, he left.

After that wide pause and 2 free throws from both teams and a little while later, Seirin finally won by 82 to 87.

Hi Everybody Author here,

Well, unfortunately, this is a canon event.

Without Kiyoshi getting injured, this won't drive the others to be better, especially Hyuga. This is character development, even if Hideki was the one who got pissed.

As for the set of Free Throw Seirin got, it was due to the guy who fell on Kiyoshi, it was a loose ball foul.

As for the punches thrown, well this happened earlier if you remember, and the 1st victim is present in this game in the bench. I mean after that first incident, Makoto's face is top 1 in Hideki's 'to punch list'.

Well if you have questions about this canon event, leave it in the comments.

So what's in the future? We'll see later on.

Bye!
