Kunoichi of Iwagakure

"Am I free? Am I allowed to live as myself?" "Naturally, you are human!" "But... How?" Before the start of the 2nd shinobi world war, Nozomi was born. However, she was only known as codename Kurai. The reason for her birth was a duo to the mistrust Iwagakure had towards the other nations, which resulted in the crossbreeding of multiple bloodlines from all around, not only in the land of earth but also in other countries. After the first Tsuchikage died, Iwagakure continued to abduct members of major clans under the order of the second Tsuchikage, whose bloodlines they deemed useful. This resulted in the mysterious disappearance of shinobi between the first and second shinobi world war. The results were a small squad of deadly assassins who had inherited different abilities, depending on how much they had won in the Gene lottery. Nozomi wasn't the strongest in any way, but she was the one that survived the longest. Follow her story while she battles her rival, adopts children, gets betrayed, and betrays while dealing with an identity crisis and guilt. ------- This is an OC story and any character not from the OG Naruto belongs to me. Ch11-The life of a civilian (Pictures Missing)

"Morning Nozomi!"

"Morning," answered Nozomi with an emotionless face, which would always disturb most of the people she meets for the first time.

Today was a normal day as Nozomi went through the village to buy groceries. During the time she was living here, many had come to like her as she was always polite and would always listen to people's rants while never revealing any secrets, even if she was a bit unusual as she showed few emotions. Which was honestly not that rare, considering some had shinobi in their families.

On the other hand, quite a lot of people had started avoiding her after she had offered Naruto to live with them, which he happily accepted at that time.

Having finished her business, she made her way back home where Yui, Pakura, Naruto, and Namiko were waiting for her to make lunch as she was on cooking duty today.

Usually, Yui, Pakura, and Nozomi would switch each day since both Naruto and Namiko were small children. This caused them to only help out sometimes.

"One serving of Ebi fries, and one Katsudon for table 2!" Yelled Nozomi towards the kitchen, where Yui and Pakura were crazily trying to keep up with the massive amounts of orders.

Meanwhile, Nozomi and the other waitresses were running from table to table, barely managing to keep up with the sudden influx of customers.

"Hey!"

Hearing her employee scream out, Nozomi and quite a few customers turned their heads around, just to see an unusual-looking female customer having her hand on the poor guy's. No wonder he screamed like that when someone suddenly hit his butt.

Apologizing to the customers she was currently serving, Nozomi walked over, signaling the boy to go help the ones she had just left while she dealt with the situation.

"Might I ask you why you were bothering our employee?" As Nozomi stared at the group, especially the woman on her left, questioning their purpose, the male sitting on the right suddenly reached out towards her butt.

Taking a step back, Nozomi easily dodged the hand as she stared at the trio, causing them to have cold sweat running down their backs. 'What is this feeling? I can't be scared! No way! Not of some random woman!'

Gaining back his bearings, the third member, another male turned towards Nozomi. "Why can't we?"

Wanting to answer the stupid question, she was suddenly interrupted. "We are proud shinobi of Konoha! We protect your lowly lives, you should serve us with your entire being! You are nothing but tools for us shinobi. Without us, you would have been dead long ago!"

Staring at the trio, Nozomi could only roll her eyes at their stupidity. Not only had their exclamation gotten them the wrath of the countless civilians here, but even the shinobi were also angry as those lowlifes were tarnishing their image, by doing something which went against the shinobi code.

While she was concentrating on the leader of the trio, the second male once again reached toward a part of her body. This time however towards her chest.

"Stupid lowlifes," whispered Nozomi as she sidestepped the hand once again before reaching out with her hands, twisting the male's arm in a funny way. Unfortunately for him, it was not over yet, as kicked him in the face before swiping her feet under him, making him fall hard to the floor.

Despite him being angry at the blatant disrespect, Nozomi was faster than he could even think, as she kicked him in the head, knocking him out cold.

While another employee was dragging the unconscious guy out of the restaurant, his teammates awoke from their shock as they started storming at Nozomi.

"You will pay for what you did, ant! Die!"

Looking at the incoming fist, Nozomi could only sight. Although she had sealed her chakra, she was still a proficient Taijutsu master. She didn't even need chakra to easily dodge the punch from the woman.

She dodged the punch by ducking down and before the attacker could react, Nozomi had already brought her fist below the attacker's chin, beating the crap out of him. As two were already knocked out, only the leader was remaining.

However, something unexpected as the leader suddenly started making hand signs, intending to finish her with ninjutsu since hand-to-hand combat wasn't working.

This was however the finishing line for the shinobi customers who had not made a move yet, since Nozomi seemed to have everything under control. Though they were ready to interfere any time to save her from being hit.

As a loud *thud* was heard through the establishment, all three of the Genin team were on the ground again as the first two had gotten up a few seconds earlier.

On top of them were standing a black-haired man with brown eyes, a strange guy with a bowl cut and a green spandex suit as well as a guy with long, brown hair and a headscarf.

All of them were shinobi of at least the Chunin-level since they wore the Konoha Chunin west.

"Thank you very much."

"Ah, no problem my youthful friend. Those people do not have the fire of youth!"

"Yeah no problem, they are a bunch of scum. Sorry about the chaos they caused."

Nozomi had learned a lot about how to gain a favorable opinion in someone's mind and thus used those teachings perfectly by offering them to eat for free for the day.

After assuring them that it was alright, they thanked her and walked back to their booth, where a few others were waiting. One of them narrowed his eyes as he stared at Nozomi. He had felt like he had seen her somewhere before quite a while ago but he couldn't remember. As such he quietly turned around, back to his Ero-book from the Icha Icha paradise series.

The rest of the day went peaceful, but she was able to hear multiple customers murmuring about the fight. Luckily the rush hour had come to an end as most employees were exhausted, especially the guy who had been harassed. Though in his case it was more of a mental shock.

***

It had only been a week since she beat up those Genins. In that time she had gained a nickname, the purple devil of Konoha. Why? Firstly because of her cold and cruel attitude towards the people disrespecting her or her friends, secondly because she was a civilian strong enough to beat up two unsuspecting Genin in a row.

Even the third Hokage had paid them a visit, officially apologizing for the mess that was caused. He even congratulated their food, which made its way through the public. This stunt made their establishment famous, giving them thoughts to renovate and get more space and hiring more workers since they couldn't deal with that many customers at once.

Luckily she had learned the shadow clone Jutsu, which one of the shinobi had used to bring the Genin to the prison. She had enough experience to almost figure out the Jutsu after a few days of trying. Unfortunately, she was unable to copy it completely, limiting the numbers and quality of shadow clones, which she could only create up to 10 at a time.

This had saved them quite a bit, as all three of them could now work 10 times as much. As such, they were able to get over the problem of hiring any additional workers, since they had to search for good-looking but also competent people since part of their fame was because every waitress and waiter looked pleasing to the eye. Naturally, they couldn't let people know they could use such an advanced Jutsu, which caused them to Henge the clones into random people, which would only service the civilians and rarely the shinobi.

While Yui and Pakura had no problem with this as they were working in the kitchen, Nozomi had to use her acting skills to the maximum as it would be strange to have 11 different people with the same emotionless personality working in one establishment.

All of the people that knew about it could only sweat drop, seeing clones of Nozomi acting shy, cheerful, or depressed. It was such an unusual sight that they couldn't imagine the original doing it, which caused her to give them a full-on show about the many personalities a human can have.

The next day all four of them were unable to function properly, making them close the restaurant for the day. They were all too shocked by the sight they had seen, where Nozomi had switched from a bubbly, Naruto, personality to an emo one, back to an introverted one, and even going as far as leaving even Hinata's shyness in the dust.

---------------

I know this might be a bit confusing, but this chapter is basically a mix between happenings from pre-chap 8 and post-chap 8.

It's fanfiction, it is not that important.
