Memories ( II )

A sigh escaped her lips. She was sitting inside of her room, she stared at her ceiling.

"Allard," she mumbled. The name had been tied to her existence in her first life. She had been absolutely desperate for his unconditional love. She had begged for his eyes to turn her way only for him to take Cosette into his grasp. He coddled her, caressing her cheek ever so slightly with a smile turning on his lips.

Yet, now?

Things had changed. Was it because Cosette didn't look as sympathetic as before? Was it because Lumielle had done a better job at fixing her reputation? She didn't know. Yet, those hate-filled eyes never left.

Her memory was hazy. Lumielle only remembered poignant memories that were seared into her skull. Sometimes, she mistook old thoughts as memories. After all, it was difficult to keep track after so long. Opening the pages of her diary, she looked at the words scrawled down.

Allard hated her. She had circled that and next to the circle was the word revenge.
