After a couple of episodes, King's phone rang.
"Hey, sweetie, are you with the girls?" I heard Miria's voice say.
"Yea ma," He got up and turned off the T.V. then gestured for me to follow him.
"Well come on, we've got the jeep," At that, King's eyes got brighter than the sun.
"Ok, bye ma," He quickly said.
"Bye hun-" He hung up.
"The jeep?" I asked, I thought all they had was 4 limos and a Lambo.
"Yea, it's for when we go places and don't want to instantly stand out. I like it better than the limos." King admitted.
"Oh, cool," I said. When we walked in, the girls were still engrossed in whatever they were watching.
"Hey," I called to get their attention.
"We're leaving now," King told them.
"Ok cool," Emy said.
"Where are we going, again?" El asked.
"Go-kart racing," King reminded her and she squealed.
"Come on, ma's out front," King led us to the front of the house where, indeed, Miria, John, and ma were waiting in a blue jeep. The ones like you see high schoolers in in movies when they're going to a party in Cali.
"Sweet," I muttered. I don't know if King heard me or not, but he smirked and took my hand to guide me onto the jeep.
We took the back seats, behind mom and Emy and El, and of course, John and Miria. This kind of reminded me of one of those big families going to someone's house for a gathering, except way smaller. The lighting in the jeep was immaculate and your girl was looking fine so she had to take some pictures, of course, with King photobombing a few.
After a while of fighting over music and attempted (failed) TikTok's, we'd made it to a giant, empty, go-kart track.
"Where's everyone else?" I whispered to King as we pulled up.
"Please don't tell me y'all bought out the whole track for us to play on," I said.
"We didn't," I blew a sigh of relief. I know they big money and all but that don't mean they have to spend like that.
"We bought the track," King said and I choked on my saliva. Well, hot damn.
"Right, Mr. Dollar-signs," I rolled my eyes as Emy and mom got out of the jeep.
I unbuckled my seatbelt and scurried out of the jeep as I realized I probably looked like a hoe who wasn't trying to look like a hoe but their hoe-ness was seeping through.
Sigh, this is all cause of lazily square dancin'! I said in my head with a country accent.
Whatever, my sisters have seen me in nothing but a bra and panties before and so has mom.
Miria should understand, she's a woman who was once a girl. John, uh, well, I know I'm not the only girl that's dressed like a hoe-y hoe here so Miria would know if John was uncomfortable with me dressing like this and would've warned me. (Or if he's a perv, she definitely would've warned me then.)
King, eh, King's seen me in short shorts and a cami without a bra, he should be fine.
Meanwhile in King's head…
Damn I wish she wouldn't have dressed like that today, it was ironic earlier but now it's torture!
Back with Emmelyn…
"Who's ready to race?" Miria asked.
"King, Em, you'll have to drive Emma and Ella, they're too young," Miria told us.
"Nu-uh, I can drive myself!" Emy argued.
"Emma-"
"I can, I swear!" Emy said. Miria looked over to ma and she nodded.
"Alright," Miria said.
"I'll drive El," El laughed and grabbed my hand. I love this little nugget of cute, happiness.
"Great," Miria clapped her hands as a man came over. He led us to the go-karts and El and I picked out a blue doubler. Emy picked out a yellow single and King picked out a red single.
The man put out the karts and we were all set to race.
"Get ready to be smoked," I laughed to King.
"I should be saying that to you," He taunted. That had me ready to leave him in the dust for real.
"1!" The man yelled.
"2!" I gripped the steering wheel hard and was ready to go.
"3!" We all took off, but at the first turn, I heard a crash and smashed the brake, King did the same.
We all got out of the karts and turned back to see the man carefully trying to get Emy out of her kart. I rushed over.
"Omg, what happened?! Emy, she told you it was too dangerous to ride on your own!" I scolded Emy but I didn't think she heard me over her suppressed groans of pain.
"She'll need to sit this one out," the man told me. I looked at the front of the kart, the rail was fine but the kart was pushed inwards.
"Did she break something?!" I totally sounded like a concerned mother but my sometimes-bitchy little sister was just in a go-kart accident!
"Break? Probably not, but she might've fractured her shin," he told me.
Then I saw another man come over who drove the go-kart back to where it was before.
"We'll get this cleaned up, you 3 are free to race again if you want," the man said before he walked away carrying Emy princess style to a little building away from the track.
"What happened?" King asked although I'm pretty sure he knew what was going on.
"She hit the rail, probably fractured her shin. Said we could go back to racing," I muttered and shrugged.
Sorry for forgetting to update yesterday, it was my cousin's birthday and we went to the pool. Well, at least my limbs are sore now, so I guess that's the price for not updating, haha.
