Alive?

Somewhere on earth in a cave buried by time, started shaking as if someone had stolen an ancient relic.

It was exactly the case. Archeologist Nancy and her team of friends had found the legendary mysterious island.

Everything went well until one of them pointed out toward ancient ruins near the mountain that spewed gold as lava.

"Don't touch that," Nancy shouted as Ryan was reaching his hands toward the ancient book in hands of the skeleton on top of the central throne.

Ryan grabbed the book "Got it," and he snatched the book off of the skeletal hand which was stuck. He had to use more force.

After clearing dust off of the book "See, you were worried for nothing nancy! Let's see what this baby holds" smirking he was about to open the book when the earth started to rumble and the pillars started shaking.

"The cave is collapsing! Run!" Mark started running towards the way out and the team followed.

A stone as large as a boulder suddenly fall on Ryan, just before it did, he threw the book toward nancy who managed to catch it.

At the same time, the ground began shaking more violently. The siblings Cassy and Robert fell into a crevice that suddenly appeared due to the cave collapsing.

Nancy made it out after Mark as he pulled her after he was out "We made it!" he shouted triumphantly.

However, at that moment, a giant green lizard appeared out of nowhere, flung him up with its teeth into the air, and swallowed him in one gulp.

"No... Nooooo! Mark!" As tears started to appear in her eyes, she started running for her dear life. After finishing off Mark the lizard chased after her as it had marked her as its prey.

She dashed through the rows of trees, steadily going faster with the lizard hot on her trail behind her.

The lizard suddenly halted, pounding on the earth with its mighty talons, causing the soil to crack on the impact.

Nancy flew in the air from the ground beneath launching her upwards, rotating uncontrollably. The lizard's mouth opened widely, waiting for a feast. Just when it was about to swallow her everything stopped.

Out of the blue, as if a flashback is occurring, everything reversed and time went back to before Ryan touched the book.

"What. the. FUCK!" Ryan shouted as the book disappeared from the skeleton's hand before he had the chance to even touch it.

"You don't look Atlantians" An intimidating voice attracted their attention towards a man coming from the stone door near.

The man was donned in a peplos and seemed wary of their presence as the book could be seen in his hold.

"WHO ARE YOU?!!" shouted Ryan as he took out his pistol

"Put. That. Back. Ryan." Nancy instructed with a stern voice.

"Are you crazy! Atlantis doesn't exist. It's just a false legend" Cassy said as he frowned at the weirdly dressed man

"I... think we are standing on an island that belonged to Atlantis," Nancy said to Cassy as she faced the man "We are from America Sir!"

"America? does that mean fifteen thousand years have already passed" The man in peplos looked confused while he had all five friends wondering.

'Living on this island must have broken a few screws in his mind'

'what a psycho'

'how would you know how much time has passed.'

"Hey mister, you're not making any sense." Mark directly said out loud "This is the 20th century no one would believe your nonsense"

"20th century? hmm..." the man put his hand on his chin as if pondering something "So a little more than 14,000 years interesting... "

"Give. me. the book., you freak" Ryan was running out of patience

"It is a log book and my only hope of find out what happened to my friends. So I am not returning it, Mr. Ryan" the man in peplos stated with an evil grin "Anyway, weren't you guys looking for a way off the island?"

Even though there were still questions about this weirdo in their minds the last words caught their attention.

"You know the way back," Robert enquired with a thrilled expression. While everyone was now staring at him as if they would eat him alive if he said no.

"Let's leave the ruins first shall we?" as he said these words he brought his hand forward and tapped on the air as if pressing a button on a smartphone.

Air rippled like water while the scenery around them changed from the ruins to now standing on top of a mountain where a humongous bird was sleeping.

"You don't mean we're going to ride that huge eagle do you?" Robert asked while visibly scared by the thought while everyone kept silent to not wake the bird up.

Pointing towards the sky as his clothes transformed into tuxedos "That's our ride" black dust started to gather in the air and formed something that took their breath away.

"Shriek" the eagle woke up, at its appearance and flew away, as if it saw its nemesis, as the monstrosity was bigger than the largest bird on the island.

It was a huge metallic spaceship, that looked straight out of star wars, with the words 'Atlantis', written in the middle of its huge body.

The majestic words told them that the legend of Atlantis, in reality, was even more shocking than the history books.

"What the fuck!" uttering these words symbolized the shock Nancy was feeling, as she had never cursed before in her life.

*Rumble*... *Rumble*

Suddenly sky rumbled. Lighting bolts one after another fell on the ship while making them close their eyes due to the sudden intensity of light.

"It's charged" uttered the man as nancy and her group felt the sound of lightning fade away.

The ship descended and dropped its rear gate slowly.

They all seemed excited like little children as they walked in. "Are you really from Atlantis?" Nancy finally asked the question that was bugging her

"Of course not!" he chuckled "I knew it, you cosplayer!" Ryan shouted at the man's answer

"I was a guest at Atlantis," ignoring Ryan he continued.

before anyone could respond, he changed the topic "Which way is America? I don't wanna mess up the way we go"

"Let me be the navigator" Mark responded as the journey back began

"Mr. umm... I don't know your name. Can I ask you a few questions?" Cassy finally went into her reporter mode, and Nancy remembered she had many questions to ask as well.

"I'm Demis nice to meet you" The man responded and the trip continued.
