Killing God: Wrath of the First Nephilim

Luke's serene existence in a remote village on the fringes of the Nexaria Empire is abruptly shattered when demonic beasts assail his home, leaving devastation in their wake. Escaping the onslaught, he tragically witnesses the annihilation of his family, leaving him alone in a world marred by chaos. Captured by the empire's forces instead of receiving the refuge he sought, Luke becomes a subject of their experimental machinations, subjected to a fusion of demonic and angelic genetic alterations. Considered a failed venture, he was cast aside, left to die by the very power that was meant to save him. Fate, however, had different plans for Luke. The experiment turned out to be a success, creating the first Nephilim whose wraith will be unleashed on the Nexaria empire— a mechanical empire fueled by science and technology, which was currently at war with the Arcanoria empire, a realm steeped in magical prowess and ancient mysticism. Unbeknownst to both empires, the supreme being, God, has descended into madness—a harrowing omen signaling the imminent demise of the universe itself. In a shocking revelation, it becomes clear that the salvation of existence hinges upon the unthinkable: Killing God. Luke, now a product of both angelic and demonic forces, finds himself at the center of an unfathomable prophecy—a prophecy dictating that only through the death of a mad god can balance be restored to the cosmos. Luke realizes that his destiny is intertwined with the cosmic fate of all existence. ........................... Success?

The beast seemed cautious at first as it scanned the area before pouncing on a body bag at the top of the pile. Ripping the body bag apart with its claws, revealing the corpse of a human.

Without hesitation the beast swooped in, taking off the head of the corpse on go and gobbling it down. It ripped open the body of a female corpse there and began feeding on her intestines greedily.

The beast ate at a rapid pace, most times swallowing without even bothering to chew. It knew it was only a matter of time before other beasts arrived which would turn this place into a war zone.

Meanwhile, within a body bag at the bottom of the pile, Luke's eyes yanked open but all he saw was nothing but darkness.

It felt stuffy, making it almost impossible to breathe and when he tried to move, he realized he could feel the nylon material of the body bag, leaving him with so many questions.

However images of the previous events began flooding his mind. Images of him jerking back and forth, trying to break free from the restraints on the metal table. He could remember the images of the demon and the angel on the screen and the metal syringes stabbing into him.

Even after he was supposedly dead, Luke could remember the words of the scientist even after he died. Luke's subconscious had heard and felt everything that happened. From the scientist cursing in frustration and saying he had the most progress out of all the previous test subjects.

He could feel his body getting put into the body bag, carried out of the Lab and taken to the morgue. Immediately Luke felt rage boiling deep within his heart.

He was a victim of a demonic beast invasion who lost his parents and friends, yet he was treated like a criminal, arrested and used for an experiment with potentially a high rate of failure.

Without his consent!

Did he commit a crime by surviving the attack?

Overwhelmed by rage Luke punched forward, punching a hole in the body bag. He then put his hands through the holes created and in one try, he tore the body bag open effortlessly.

Luke sat up, breathing in greedily as he had been starved of oxygen for a while. At the same time, hasty footsteps of something approaching reached his ears and he quickly turned to the left.

Immediately he turned, the beast was already upon him, its mouth wide open as it aimed for his head.

Bam.

Just in the nick of time, Luke had managed to raise his left hand to block the attack.

The beast slammed into him while its razor-sharp teeth sank into Luke's hand; sinking so deep, that Luke could feel it touch his bones.

With its jaw clamped on his left arm, Luke got a good look at the rodent-type Beast attacking.

The beast had a sleek, fur-covered body and distinctively long, sharp whiskers. Its fur was dark grey in colour, providing a degree of natural camouflage. Despite being 4ft long, the creature exuded a sense of ferocity, thanks to its razor-sharp claws and teeth.

Still filled with rage and adrenaline that helped him ignore the pain, Luke had no intentions of running like he did when his family was slaughtered. Instead, he was going to vent his anger on the beast even if it meant losing his life!

In a display of unexplainable strength, Luke lifted the beast off the ground with his left hand, exposing its underbelly. Clenching his right fist, his muscles tensed up before throwing a punch at the exposed underbelly.

BAM!

Crack!

Bone-cracking sounds could be heard as the punch hit its mark and shattered the beast's rib cage, forcing it to open its jaws while letting out a wimping sound of pain.

The beast began coughing up blood as its legs shivered due to the pain. Looking at Luke now, its original ferocious demeanour was replaced with a fearful one.

Instinctively, It began taking cautious steps back but Luke had no intentions of letting it go. Ignoring his mangled left hand, Luke charged forward, pouncing on the beast.

Finding his way to its side, he wrapped his left hand around its neck and began delivering a series of vicious blows to the head of the beast, each blow worse than the previous.

The beast screamed in pain as each blow put a deeper dent on the skull of the beast and soon its head was busted open by Luke's blows but even that was not enough.

At this point, the beast could not resist anymore. It fell to the floor in defeat but Luke kept punching, unleashing his rage on the defeated beast.

After a few more blows, he then tightened his grip around the neck of the beast while using his right hand to apply pressure by pushing its head in the wrong direction.

Snap!

Soon a bone-breaking sound echoed in the area, only then did Luke let go of it, kicking away the corpse of the beast from his body.

Rising to one knee, the burning anger in his heart began to fade and only then did Luke realize what he had done.

"Did I just..?" Luke muttered in disbelief.

His eyes traced his left arm in search of the injury sustained in the fight but to his greatest surprise, it was healing at a rapid pace while his blood was dealing with the bacteria from the saliva of the beast.

Luke began examining his body, however, there was barely any difference from now compared to before he went through the experiment.

The only difference was that he felt oddly heavy but incredibly light at the same time.

His reaction to the beast's initial attack showed he was swift, while the battered skull and broken rib of the rodent-type beast was a testament to his newfound strength.

He felt dangerous!

"The experiment was a success?" Luke didn't know whether to cry or laugh.
