Chapter 2 - Wake up

[Dr. Steven]

After refuting the Police officer, Dr. Stevens had to move to another room where the Mayor's son Jeremy laid on a table with a bullet wound to the head. Dr. Stevens did everything he could, but he couldn't save Jeremy's life. The Mayor in the city was pained and, with the city's council, decided that Dr. Steven was convicted as a murderer for not saving his son's life and prioritizing some fatherless bastard kid over his. So Dr. Steven was sentenced to become the Kid's Doctor and accompany him to the island.

After taking care of the Kid throughout the jail and learning about the island, the Kid and himself were dropped off on the island. After a while, the Doctor found an old building to hide in and take care of the Kid. The Kid only woke up every now and then, maybe awake for a few seconds before drifting off again.

The first night there, a man attacked the Doctor at night with a sword but, with quick reflexes, knocked it away with aboard. The Doctor swung the board, and with one hit to the side of the attacker's head, he died. As the body fell to the floor, the Doctor watched as blood dripped from the nail at the end of the board that must have penetrated the head of the attacker. After disposing the body outback, he ripped off the attacker's dog tag and placed it in the Kid's pocket. Then he settled down for a long first night.

The next morning he spotted a man in a weird outfit approach the house. He looked over at the Kid, who looked like he was waking up a bit. He leaned down and whispered, "I will be right back." Then he walked outside with the sword in hand to talk with this approaching man with a samurai sword in his hand.

Once Dr. Stevens steps outside, the Samurai says to him, "Where is the man who had that sword originally?"

"I killed him as he attacked me last night," responded Dr. Stevens.

"You took away a duel from me and owed me a dog tag. I will either take that dog tag or your life you choose."

Thinking that he needs the dog tag for supplies for himself and the Kid, he looks at the Samurai and says, "I'm sorry, my friend, I need that dog tag for supplies for me and a Kid."

Looking directly at him, the Samurai replies, "then we shall duel for that dog tag."

After hearing this, the Doctor is startled that this Asian man, probably only in his 20s, is about to attack him over a dog tag. "Does this island have any sane people?" thought the Doctor.

The Samurai only needed a few steps before he was right in front of the Doctor. This shocked the Doctor so much he barely had time to bring up the sword to block. One swing of the Samurai's sword knocked the Doctor's sword into a bush. Upon the second swing, a large gash from his gut to his throat was slashed. The Doctor's eyes wandered over to the old building as he fell and saw the Kid in the window. He thought to himself, "this is how I die."

"I hope the Kid can escape.." That was his last thought before he bled out on the ground. Painting the earth red around him as the Samurai reached down to pluck the dog tag from around his neck.

[The Kid]

The Kid woke up to the hearing, "I will be right back." Then he watched a silhouette leave the building and walk outside carrying something similar to a sword.

His body ached while a million thoughts rushed through him. He remembered shooting Jeremy, he remembered getting shot, and he remembered waking up a few times in random rooms with Dr. Stevens taking care of him. He looked around and saw a one-room building with the roof caving in and only one entrance with no door. It has two windows, one on the front and one on the left. The floor was just concrete with trash piled into the corner. Cracks all in the wall and ceiling made this place feel like it would cave in at any moment.

The Kid slowly got up, hearing a conversation of some sort outside. He walked over to the window in time to see Dr. Stevens cut down by a man with a Samurai sword. The sadness in Dr. Stevens's eyes as he fell made the Kid tear up. "Nooo.." The Kid yelled. He stumbled his way outside and picked up a piece of rebar from the building lying on the ground.

As the Samurai walks away, the Kid also picks up a rock and throws it at the killer. It hits him, and he turns around to see a Kid holding rebar staring at him. He looks at the Kid and decides that since he got a dog tag already, he will let this Kid live.

"Don't ignore me, you Samurai wannabe." Seeing him walk away pisses off the Kid, and he charges the Samurai with the rebar in the air.

As the Kid swings down at the Samurai. The Samurai easily turns around in time to evade the rebar and in-process slashes the kid's arms up pretty bad. Almost dropping the rebar, the Kid swings and smashes it into the Samurai's knee.

Letting out a painful scream, the Samurai looks down at the Kid scurrying back to the building. "Come back here you."

The kid stumbles back into the building with the Samurai right on his tail. As soon as the Samurai steps inside, he says to the kid, "Kid, I accept your challenge. Face me like a man."

The Kid was bleeding down his arm and rebar in the other watches as the Samurai approached. The first swing was a wide horizontal swing that he backsteps and dodges but ends up in the corner. The Samurai smiles and wipes his blade downward. Seeing this, the Kid swings his rebar to block the blade. The rebar shoves the blade into the wall shattering the tip of the blade off. The Samurai follows up with a left hook knocking the Kid out.

As the Kid bled out, the Samurai left without killing him or taking his dog tag.
