Chapter 207: THE BIG ARREST
Jessie was all fired up walking into City Hall with Sorrentino and two uniformed cops. Holding her badge up to the secretary, they strode by without stopping.
"You can't go in there," she said.
"This isn't a social call. And, if I were you, I'd go back and sit at my desk because it isn't going to be pretty."
Tapping on the mayor's closed door, he opened it, his face stern and ready to attack like an asp. "I told you not to..." He stopped short when he saw the two detectives, and just stared.
Holding up the warrant, they walked inside his office and surprised the ten people sitting around his conference table. "Robert Giovanni DeMarco, " Jessie said, "you are being charged with second degree murder, sixty counts of wire fraud, falsifying records, campaign finance violations, conspiracy and conspiracy to commit murder of a police officer."
